The Dodgers have a serious problem...
Its only Spring Training, but the Los Angeles Dodgers might have a serious problem on their hands in the middle infield...
Mookie Betts is slotted in at shortstop and Gavin Lux seems to be struggling through a case of the yips. But does it even matter when you have a team that loaded?

I live in Kansas watching those great A’s teams playing in a beautiful stadium in the 70’s now is it Billy Bean poor ownership or lack of support from fans . What the hell happened ? Fisher will never win with the A’s he will never put up his own money after all he is a billionaire he wants to spend public money that’s what they do. To whom much is given much is expected. Fisher falls short of that standard. Oakland deserves better!

There doesn’t need to be a grand conspiracy from the top of the league for a game to be rigged. Especially in baseball where the umpire gets to use his subjective “opinion” on any pitch where contact isn’t made. No reasonable human could’ve watched this game and not concluded that Gregg absolutely without a shadow of a doubt decided before the opening pitch that he would do everything in his power to make sure the Marlins won this game. On multiple pitches you can even see him starting his strike punch before the catcher has even closed his mitt. I’m a Yankees fan, so zero love lost for the Braves, but like all normal well adjusted people I have a natural revulsion to blatant fraud and injustice like this. I saw Roy Jones get robbed in Seoul Korea in 1988 when I was 11 years old and remember it being the first time I cried watching sports and asking my father how that could happen. It broke his heart that he had to explain human corruption to me that soon. And nine years later watching this was like a bad flashback. Gregg deserves to be remembered as a shameful, despicable stain on the legacy of baseball. A true villain of sports.

It remains the worst called game in my lifetime and I’m 67 years old. By the second inning it was apparent that Gregg was fixing the game. Total disrespect to the game of baseball, the players and the fans. I’m still disgusted!!!

Prince’s best season is 2009. Then his power decline brutally. In 2011, he hits 38 homers. Then hits just 30 homers in 2012 despite career high batting average of .313. Then he never hits 30 homers again. 2013 he was mediocre but healthy. 2014 a tragic season of surgery. Happily he made a great comeback in 2015. Hit over .300 the second time of his career but only 23 homers. But still happy to see him winning comeback of the year. Then in 2016 he had a career ending injury😢.

Joey Gallo is absolutely maddening. Very athletic for a huge man, but the rest of baseball caught up to him. Due to his massive uppercut, Pitchers simply threw him average fastballs above the belt, and Gallo couldn’t make contact. He needs to break down his swing completely, much like Matt Carpenter did. His downfall has nothing to do with the Yankees, or “feeling comfortable.” The deep uppercut swing and pull happy approach will have him out of baseball by 2025.

Ichiro is greatly beloved in Seattle. Ever since Griffey first debuted, the Mariner fanbase really latches on to those one or two super-stars on the team. For a bit over a decade, Ichiro was that super-star. He was what made Mariners games worth coming to for so long even through all the ups and downs of playoff droughts. Even when he went to the Yankees (who were despised in Seattle for many years and even somewhat to this day for the 2000 and 2001 seasons), when he set foot back into Safeco for his first game as a Yankee, everyone cheered for him. It was basically an Ichiro send off celebration. If there is one city 100% convinced he deserves an unanimous hall of fame ballot, it's this one.

I've always said they wanted the stupid expansion team to pull that Cinderella shit and win the world series. It would have been too easy, as loaded as Atlanta was in the 90s to beat them without some help. They got 1 world series in the 90s, and with possibly the greatest pitching rotation in MLB history, it was unfair.

Thank you for this, I've heard from so many Marlins fans and contrarians that "well, the Braves got the same calls, that's why it was 2-1" - this puts that garbage to rest 😁 My hunch is that Gregg had some massive gambling debts and he was made an offer he could not refuse, because while he always had a wide and inconsistent zone, this game is still a radical outlier in his career calling games.

He’s one of those who you just can’t not root for, I feel for him… in my opinion he’s just in his head too much, it’s almost like you can see his desperation. You said it; with a glove and arm that are always a needed tool in this league, he might actually benefit more from being the veteran who is a clubhouse guy, showing some of the 20 year olds what not to do.

Mariners fan here. I was on a work trip in Minneapolis, the Marlins were in town so I had to catch a game to see Ichiro again and of course experience another ballpark outside of Seattle. I had my Mariners hat and an old stained Ichiro T-shirt. Ichiro ended up getting a hit and the whole stadium applauded, something i wasn't expecting. Then he stole a base and it was a standing ovation. He was well passed his prime but it was during the 3000 mlb hit chase and the midwest fans appreciated what they were witnessing. My favorite Ichiro moment i was part of.

This looks absurd now, but back in the day, before they put the box on TV for viewers to see the strike zone, each umpire had his own strike zone, which could change from game to game. You notice that players didn't complain about the strike zone, because as long as the umpire was consistent for both teams, the players tolerated it. The strike zone could also change as the game went on, where the zone could expand, as certain pitchers would keep working the corners and widen the zone in the later innings. So, unless you were Barry Bonds, umpires didn't stick to the actual strike zone in regards to the plate, and it was accepted by everyone as long as the umpire was consistent. It was pretty stupid, but the players couldn't do anything about it (because the umpire could just eject you if you complain about balls and strikes), so it just became part of the game.
