I used to go to the Lincoln Avenue, Chicago store. I lived in the neighborhood and I recognized that these were some of the most exquisite acoustic guitars that I would ever see anywhere.

How versatile sounding is this masterpiece of lutherie! I’ve listened to every cut of this guitar played by amazing players. This guitar adapts extremely well to all their styles. It shines every time!

This guitar sounds as good (kudos to the guitarist) as its place in history. Heavenly sound! I’m amazed at the amount of sustain this arch top has.

I remember hearing this guitar when I thought it was still a tree so to speak. The tone is haunting in the hands of a beautiful player! Unique!

To the naysayers. John’s instruments are works of art. If he wanted to build affordable guitars, he would automate his shop and hire 25 handymen to produce 1000 guitars per year that would probably sound as good as his masterpieces. There’s a price to pay for a unique, handcrafted guitar made by who is considered to be the top luthier on the planet. His concepts, ideas, materials and meticulous workmanship are worth the money he commands to those who appreciate his work for what it is. Unparalleled.

The Bozo Chicagoan is my favorite sounding instrument of the Blue Guitar Collection. The Hollenbeck Ebony n Blue is a very close second.

Who is the lady playing with him

The headstock of the Fender Custom Ultra has the same inlay pattern of the early seventies Fender Montego archtop built by Roger Rossmeisl. That can't be coincidence.

Hogwash. Some of those guitars were given a mild sunburst effect. A number of them weren’t blue all over when they were made.

This may be the best sounding of all the Blue Guitars! Fantastic. Love the tune too. I might have to find more music by Michael Watts. He is fantastic! Love his style and technique. I’d love to hear him play all the Blue’s with that same mic set up so we can really hear the differences between each of the guitars!

One of Jim Dale’s associates gave him the idea to name the company D’Leco. It is an abbreviated combination of his surname Dale and Company.

So many factors. “Player’s touch”, pick material, proximity to the microphones… The real test would be if they stayed seated as they are, and switched guitars.

I first met Bill at the racetrack. Toured his facility a few times. I ended up buying a couple of guitars from him. He is missed.

I saw this display at the Smithsonian and it was amazing. Got to know Bill Collings around that time as well. Still have a Collings flat top guitar that I cherish.

I saw the first Blue Guitar display! It was SO COOL! I got to know Bill Collings a bit around that time and what a treat to see another series of Blue Guitars. I can’t wait to see them all completed and displayed! Love your Fly guitar Ken! I have a Classic in Trans Blue and just got a ‘99 Supreme burst!
