Actually how long did take you? I spend around 4-10 hours making a mildly good looking and medium size battle cruiser.

I know this is an old video, but how do you make the mech legs kinda swing around as the body moves?
@@ragnarosfl7464 thanks for watching! The hip joints respond weakly to either pitch/roll or fwd drive signals. Although I might have a custom axis that respond to the absolute value of fwd signal. There's a few different ways about it, depending on aesthetics.

Thanks! I love the enemy spawn fleets, really helps with a) people not sniping a faction and cheesing the campaign, and b) making sure all the factions designs show up somehow. The Last Legion seemed to be missing a cargo craft so they weren't producing as many craft as they could've. But I attacked them pretty fast so it prob didn't make much of a difference.
I also liked how many of the villages or fortifications have interesting terrain features, such as island or bay. Hope to see more of this in other campaigns. I didn't expect the small defense turrets to cause so much damage to my mechs, but they do provide a good reason to build dedicated siege (CRAM-armed) craft!

yes, at least the resource gathering craft is a carrier. look at the mech showcase
@@janKoloja There is a carrier for 4x of the light interceptors 'Vanguard', however it was so laggy compared how much functionality it brings to the battle. I debated but decided not to use it in the campaign after all =(
Do you plan on releasing more mechs onto the Workshop? I've seen that you've uploaded more besides the "Abject Majesty - Hero Mech" but they're no longer available after looking Love the work you do, very few mech uploaders. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
lazer are a bit better now against smokes, you should see if your ships are affected by this!
The Emperor approves of this message. I feel like if the thrusters worked in space you might see quicker turns up there but in a way it is appropriate how ponderous they are.
Thanks! The problem with space is momentum and lack of air resistance. WH40k space battles feel like air battles, not with Newtonian physics like in The Expanse. If these ships fly in space it'd be very hard to control range or bearing because they'll always overshoot.
I do enjoy a good fancy decorative gun that still has impact. Also, that shield might be cheese, but it is gorgeous cheese.

Any chance an of these are going on your workshop? I've been dying to get a look at the internals. My own mech building efforts have been stifled by not being able to get enough meaningful firepower onboard due to size constraints and I was wondering how you'd managed it!
I'm still unsure about workshop upload since I've spent a lot of time on the breadboard and it gives me a tech advantage! In terms of firepower, look to the densest weapons systems: missiles, plasma, and PAC. Missiles should be fired in close range to maximize their chances to hit, and given fire control for their arcs of fire. Plasma and PAC can both use off board generators such as auxiliary craft or mother ship so it helps with shaping. Finally DIF guns are not compact but does incredible burst damage for their cost. I use custom fire control programs to improve the reliability of burst damage systems such as missiles or DIF. I also put ammo and fuel in the legs so the mechs can lose their legs and still be fully functional.

@@ed.thefeli4159 thanks! It's really the most flexible sandbox game for vehicular combat. I have 4000h of experience in the game and 10 years in engineering so I do have a more expert than average approach, but I hope everyone can enjoy the game and push themselves a bit especially if they're interested in design or engineering.

If this is neter. The pirates are the easiest. The rest will stomp you. Well mabye not your mechs. But thats how ot gpes for me usually
I suggest testing your craft vs the Striders and Flayers when building. Striders tend to build with compartments that reduce the effectiveness of chemical and Flayers build bricks. You'll see a fairly good approximation of the weaknesses of your craft. Striders also make some of the most obnoxious fighters in terms of being small and hard to hit.
This is Stradani Civil War, a custom campaign in development. Right now the Spannerheim Raiders and Lost Legion are fully complete, but there are more factions on the way.

I want to get into Space Engineers just for the fantasy of being able to walk around the ship and fire different weapons! Also the devs of the campaign definitely did a good job it's all made with a lot of love!

Older GT ships are definitely built by WH40k fans! Sadly a lot of them use turrets or frontside mounts and you don't get the actual broadside effect in function. It looks like the newer GT craft the builders are trying to move away from this style.
its probably the surface rendering thats slowing down, breadboards should be too simple to cause that much lag

Haha people complain about FtD's interface but it's leagues better than any work-related software I have to deal with, with exception of Solidworks.
I like the naming schemes, and you aren't overdecorating the units. Would you point me to an explanation about your custom campaign? Do I assume it right that you are using the current game version? The propulsion-solution on Authority is nice. I'd prefer if you haven't switched the interface off, that way I could observe the workings of the units in your showcase. I remember something when units are near, the game slows down to calculate possibble hits between them. Is the lag present only when you spawn in, or persist still Absurdity exists? To check, take it out and in play. Then remove the fighters and try again. if there is a difference in lag I remembered well. :)
@@normal6969 custom campaign is a few videos ago called Tiamat. It's with current game version and I use a lot of breadboard work as you can imagine. It's with different physics to be slightly more realistic and / or to favor ships. It's increased gravity, damage, and missile speeds. Storage density is reduced as well.

@@ivanneto5250 I was just thinking I can do a different series called 'Deep Dive' and go into some tutorial level stuff of how I build! I want to make content for experienced FtD players as there are a lot of beginner tutorials on APS / CRAM Tetris so no need to reinvent the cannon.
@@chillbuilder101 Sounds good! While there are a lot of tutorials about the technical side, there aren't a lot of tutorials of how to build nice looking machines, from people that know how to lol
@@ivanneto5250 There's a series called 'Wrench's Way II' that's very specific to WW2 style gun warships, it's a very good tutorial and you may be able to apply the principles to other types of craft. It might be weeks until I'm able to make a tutorial so I don't want to leave you hanging.
