    When I saw you cleaning those dirty jambs with APC without using your “already available” hot steam, I knew that towards the end of video, you would waste time foaming those 4 big tyres and scrubbing them. You shd have just used your big extracter steamer to shoot detergent + hot steam onto those dirty tyres..you’ll immediately see brown and grey crud coming off. Instantly rewarded with a lovely 100% clean sidewall that’ll look great with any dressing. Since its only a basic exterior wash, pls dont waste time scrubbing those big tyres. Nothing is as fast and effective as using hot steam or wiping with a strong solvent to reveal 100% bare rubber.

      Thanks for the comment. You make a good point and I’ll definitely try using the steam cleaner on tires. I’ve never done that before so I’ll have to test it out. I actually retired the steam cleaner a long time ago because I personally find it too slow. I’m just using it again now because a subscriber was interested in buying the exact make and model of steam cleaner. I was just doing a personal test on how well super clean degreaser would work on cleaning dirty brown ozonated tires and well you seen the results. Not good. But it doesn’t matter how well they cleaned up. It’s a work truck and the tire shine I sprayed on cleaned them up well. It was just a basic handwash. I spend about 30 mins or less on a basic handwash

  • @macallanvintage
    @macallanvintage 17 годин тому

    Your method is illogical. You already knew the door jambs were badly stained and dirty. And you own TWO machines that generate hot steam. It would have been logical, clever and professional to spray your APC onto those dirty jambs and sills, and then immediately blast with hot steam.

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing 11 годин тому

      Thanks for the comment. It’s something worth thinking about but I disagree. I used to use the steam cleaner on door jams every single detail. For a long time on lots of vehicles. I retired the steam cleaner because it’s too slow. It’s soo much faster to spray on a degreaser on door jams then use the pressure washer I say this as real world detailing. I have to do what the customer asks for and pays for. This isn’t a fake UA-cam video about detailing. Now don’t get me wrong I love fake UA-cam detailing videos and I will 100% do fake detailing UA-cam videos. This exact video was real world detailing. The customer bought a premium detailing package and for me that includes certain services. Which is my medium level cleaning package. If they bought a higher level package. A “ restoration detailing package”. I would have a lot more time and a lot more budget to use the steam cleaner on areas like the door jams. Also my restorative package includes removing the seats front and rear. Plus I also price hourly. So when a customer pays for 4 hours of work. That’s all I’ll do and I’ll explain that to them before hand so they understand and everyone is happy. Of course if a detail needs an extra 30 mins ontop of 4 hours I’ll do that. Or if I finish early I’ll still put in 4 hours of work to add extra value where I can. So on a super greasy door jam like that where the customers isn’t paying for that level of cleaning I do my best and work fast and they understand that if it doesn’t look perfect that’s ok because they didn’t pay for perfection. They paid for a whole lot better and that’s what I gave them. At the end of the day this customer was happy and no matter what I would always make sure a customer was happy or it’s free. Plus I’ve been really wanting to test “super clean degreaser” as a product I want to keep on my self long term and you can see the results of that. I don’t think I want to keep super clean degreaser on my shelf long term. I’m just not seeing the results I’m happy with. It works and it’s cheap but I feel that there is still better products out there. Thanks for the comment and voicing your ideas. There important for us detailers to learn and move forward on our journey.

    Hey , just wanted to say i dont really stop to comment on a UA-cam video, but you really deserve it, everytime i click on a new video of yours i learn new techniques, i really love your unique style for sure , I actually want to start a detailing business my self but everyone keeps saying i will fail or youre so stupid you are not even going to make money , but seeing you making things so easy and professional at only 400 subscribers (congratulations for that) really encourages me to push more , keep up the great work, i have a quick question, what wet and dry vacuum would you recommend for under 90 bucks . And as always keep up the excellent work ❤

      @JoshJecklinDetailing 4 дні тому

      Thank you for the comment! I appreciate it! If you want to detail cars do it! It’s very lucrative and once you figure out how to get customers it’s pretty easy to find customers and keep the money coming in. Just do your best work. Under $90 for a wet/dry vac that is tough one. I never had to look. But I see a lot of people buy that smaller ridgid shop vac from Home Depot. I use two shop vacs at the same time for more sucking power. I have a craftsman and a ridgid. Similar size. What I did notice was that the craftsman vacuum has way more sucking power than the ridgid. So that is something to keep in mind. I like my craftsman vacuum more than the ridgid even though the ridgid looks like it’s more powerful. As for staying under the $90 budget. I would just go to Home Depot and get what you can within your budget and make it work. I look at it like this. When I’m charging $300-$500 and up per detail. I can quickly buy nicer equipment and I put almost everything back into the business as I saved up a lot of money to start my business. So I wouldn’t be stressing over money. Buy what is within in your budget and quickly upgrade every couple details so you have better stronger tools so you can detail faster and get more work don’t per day or have more spare time. Good luck on your journey!

    1:48 NOPE! 😂🤣😂😭Grade 10 Science!🐄💩 The real reason is that; destilled water is free of minerals, so it tends to collect minerals from its surroundings (the internals of your steamer!) causing corrosion in the end! You using your "Extremly Clean" tap water is not helping!

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing 9 днів тому

      Thanks for explaining that. My tap water is 0 ppm tested multiple times a year. I know that isn’t as clean as distilled water but the manufacturer does say to use tap water and the machine has a 20 hour descaling procedure. The machine will tell you is been 20hours of use (I can’t remember the actual time but it’s around there). Then you have to go through there descaling process. You basically create a mixture of vinegar and tap water and fill the water tank up with that and flush it through the system. Then you let it sit for 12hours (overnight helps) and drain. I think when the machine tells you to run the descale process. You might be able to force run the machine. I’m just lucky to have such low ppm tap water. I get 0 water spots from it. Growing up I lived on well water and the well was around 1400ppm. We had a reverse osmosis machine for house water. That would make a mess and scale up lines and tanks. 🤣 I was just referring to scale build up and that grade 10 science experiment where the teach microwaves distilled water and it doesn’t boil at boiling temp. Then they throw a fork in the water and the water explodes from the contaminants on the fork.

      Thanks for the comment and liking the work! When I made my packages and prices the express package I offer is supposed to be for cleaner cars. It’s not a maintenance detail but it’s not ment for a disaster. I’m a new detailer in my town looking to build a name and clientele. So when I get a disaster and the customer only wants to spend what the express package costs. I just get it done quickly and to within a reasonable standard. I wish this customer got the next higher package so I could do seat and carpet shampooing but they didn’t want it. So I did what they wanted 🤣 🤘🏾

    Good stuff, I can't get enough detailing videos for some reason. Now I'm gonna armchair detail. No such thing as a "2 Hour Express Detail." I expect 30 minutes max for anything with the word "express" in the title. "Only water in the Tornador." Me: Yessss! Later... Paint sprayer and chemicals. Me: Nooooo! lol There's a way to do both cleaning and dressing in one step. Optimum No Rinse (ONR) and Optimum Protectant Plus in a bucket. ONR is 256:1 so 4 ml per Liter. Do up like 4 L and mix in 80 ml of Protectant Plus. Throw in some towels. Pull out a towel, wring out so it's damp not dripping. Cleaning the surface and applying the dressing together will save tons of time. Allow to air dry. Wipe off any excess from clear parts and glass. Used towels never go back in the bucket so the solution is always clean. Could end up doing two or three cars with 80 ml of dressing. Aerosol glass cleaner. Me: Nooooo! If you don't do anything else, use ONR as your glass cleaner. It's the cheapest you'll find. Dunk a microfiber in ONR, wring out until nearly dry, apply to glass. Buff glass with two microfiber towels for a streak free finish. Anywho, keep up the good work! I'm enjoying it and I'm sure your customers love their clean cars!

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing 10 днів тому

      I think it was a disaster. You gotta watch me clean it. It looks clean but it’s actually super dirty with lots of dogs hair, food crumbs, mud and smoke ashes. The camera and low lighting hides the dirt. I haven’t had anyone bring in a car full of mold because we dont have mold here. I live in a desert. I haven’t had any cars that a hoarder lived in or a drug addict. I live in a small city. Haven’t had any emergency vomit calls. I don’t know if I would touch a rat poop infested car. I’d have to suit up in a hazmat for that. These are about the worst I get. Give or take. To someone who does real world detailing. These are less then desirable details. They’re hard to complete in a short time. Real world detailing customers keep clean cars so for a real detail that I got paid for by a customer I don’t know in anyway. This is a disaster. I’ve done a lot worse than this but this is where a disaster starts. If you keep a clean car I promise you, you would think this car was super dirty. I could have cleaned it a lot faster but I still feel like I did a good job for the budget and around 2 hours. 🤣 Maybe one day in the future. I’ll source crazy bad cars full of rotten garbage and poop and clean them for free just for content.

    I think you could save time by not scrubbing the weather tech mats so much. I hit them with a degreaser, dwell, hit it with a brush, rinse, let dry. They always look great. Especially with a well diluted wipe down with hyperdressing at the end of the detail.

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing 10 днів тому

      For sure I hear you loud and clear. I’ve been thinking about just using dwell time and the roto pressure washer tip then a heavy blast with the hyperdressing because people just step on the floor mats anyway. But I’m just trying to build my name up around town right now for super high quality and not having any complaints. Thanks for the tip. It’s a learning journey for me still! Try using 3D Orange diluted 3:1 or 4:1 for tougher stains and stubborn “make-up” marks on plastics use 3D Orange and a scrub ninja. I pull out the 3D orange for stronger stains and grease. If you’re talking about stains in the seats. 3D orange with steam and agitation. 3D orange is so powerful and mild on damaging surfaces. There’s always a chance you could damage surfaces with 3D orange if you left raw product on plastic/paint and let it dry naturally so keep that in mind. When you use it. Dilute 4:1 or 3:1 then wipe is up before it dries naturally. P&S express is great but it’s a milder product for mild dirt. Which is usually what we detailers are cleaning. I notice 3D orange is slightly more powerful then super clean degreaser so if you want you can use super clean as well as it’s cheap and readily available everywhere. But 3D orange is stronger and safer on surfaces. I’ve never had an issue with 3D orange but I’m careful. When I first started I used super clean and got some on some paint and I tarnished the paint. I was able to polish it back to glossy. Just something to think about. Thanks for the comment. Good luck

      If you can easily afford it. It’s a sweet tool. But also maybe it might be worth even getting a more powerful unit though. I kinda wish I had a unit that made 3x more steam and didn’t have an extractor. I do enjoy this steam cleaner though for sure. Remember get the 240v model. The 120v runs a lot different and only has half the power since it runs on 120v. I read the 120v model can’t run the steam and the vacuum at the same time since it doesn’t have enough power.

    Hey, I am really interested in geting the Dupray super inox, could you please do a video comparing the extracting feature to your mytee extractor, id really like to know your thoughts, as of now I use my steamer then my shopvac over my mytee extractor as it allows the fabric to dry faster and has more consistent heat to break down oils.🙏

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing 21 день тому

      I’ll use it today on my detail and make a video! The video probably won’t go live for 1-2 weeks but I’ll use it today on a premium detail for you. I really like the Dupray super Inox but I don’t like it at the same time. It’s powerful but it’s not as powerful as I would like. Basically you need to spend a lot more money then the Inox costs to get to the next level of steam power that I was expecting. When you see professional carpet cleaners clean a restaurant carpet with steam. It doesn’t have that level of power and that’s the level of steam power I want. I do love the super inox but I do with it was way more powerful. Mine is the 240v model so it has access to power. I would use it to steam extract an entire vehicle but I would have to charge a lot more money to have it make sense for me as an hourly rate. I don’t have the customers “yet” that are willing to spend that next level up in cost for detailing. I have cheaper options right now that are selling to customers. So I don’t use my steam cleaner.

      @@UnDivine so I used the extractor today on seats and carpet floors and it works great. It’s been so long since I used it I forgot how fun it is to use. It does a great job for steam extracting but don’t expect it to work like the steam extractors professional carpet cleaners use to clean restaurant floor carpets. The 240v version of the Dupray Carmen’s super inox makes a lot of steam but after a long time of non stop continuous use the steam pressure will lower to less the max pressure. But it will come back up for full power quickly. Example you can do an entire car seat with full power 1-2 times over. Then the pressure will lower. Put the extractor down and wipe dry with a microfiber and it’s back up to power. Do not get the 120v version of the Dupray Carmen super inox. I read bad things about it. Much lower power.

      @@JoshJecklinDetailing thank you I really appreciate the feedback, I am trying to see if its better to use for mobile Detailing then an extractor, I normally charge more if I need to use my extractor as it takes alot more time to dry especially if it is colder out, not to mention I only have room for either a steamer or extractor not both.

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing 20 днів тому

      @@UnDivine that’s a tough call. I would say extractor and an air compressor with a tornador max + Chem. The Dupray steamer is very expensive and it uses 240v power. If you’re dealing high end vehicles that are clean go with the steamer. If your detailing with lots of really dirty vehicles with lower budgets I would use the extractor.

      Thanks for the comment and I’m glad you enjoyed the video! That is the Tornador max. You don’t have to buy any fittings. You simply just removed the bottle and the line it comes with and you buy your own line. I can’t remember what size the plastic tube/line is because I had it lying around my house. But you can buy that at any hardware store, princess auto, harbor freights or pet stores. That particular extension line is a fish tank bubble line. I believe it’s a 1/8th or 1/4 line. Get it at the local hardware store. Good luck!

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing 27 днів тому

      Yes it’s my home garage. It works great. No issues with the customers. They either get a ride to pick them up or I shuttle them. In 1-2 weeks I’m going to buy a curtsey car. I don’t do mobile because mobile has soo many drawbacks backs for the detailer. Main reason is you could potentially be in the customers drive way for up to 3-6 hours and that would be super annoying. No bathroom. No 💨 breaks. All the other issues like that. Also with mobile you have to be careful of the clients house. Detailing makes a huge mess. I don’t mind leaving my driveway messy for detailing. That would be awful to detail a vehicle then have to clean the customers driveway 🤣 Also finally I have a lot of big tools. I need to run a big generator for all my tools. My commercial steam cleaner is 240v. Even though I don’t use my steam cleaner anymore. Too slow. I would go mobile but only for maintenance jobs. 1-2 hours max. Hope that helps.

      Mytee 8070 but I highly recommend you get the one size bigger. I messed up big time by getting this one. Tank is too small and draining the tank is very annoying because you can’t put a 5 gallon pail under the drain spout. Mytee HP60 is a more professional model and will last you longer with fewer headaches. Just keep working and charging good prices for your details and the business will pay for the equipment. Good luck with your business.

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing 29 днів тому

      Thanks for the comment. I personally do think it was a low level disaster. I get customers with clean cars and then I get cars like these lol. The amount of dog hair in this car was beyond what would be considered a normal detail. Also I talked about it in the video, this car smelled like a mouse nest. I cleaned up small amount of mouse dripping here and there. Also the seats were full of greasy stains you couldn’t really see and then the guy had so much stuff in the car it took me 15-20 mins just to remove his belongings. I agree with you. There wasn’t chips crumbs and food all over the place or milkshake spilled on the seats but it required a lot more then a normal detail to get this car back to a clean condition. If it takes me longer then 3-4 hours. It’s really dirty. So after doing the work I would say this is a low level disaster. It’s not a high level worst disaster ever. Thanks for the input on the full length videos. I have another one coming out soon. 5 hour van detail. Not a disaster but a 8 seater van 😂
