I never listen to jazz but this is so cool. A lot of my favorite Japanese visual kei rock bands incorporate jazzy and rock n roll elements into hard rock. So it’s nice to see a song of that genre that’s this amazing. They KILLED it, especially the keyboardist and drummer
Wait! Hold the phone! Damn I've been listening to this version now about umpteen times and now marveling at how that mutha**f**g Hancock switches from basic melodic structure of noting to chording and tempo shifting and all in perfect counterbalance to Hubbard's masterful swinging trumpet, pounding out a beautiful rendition that hits so many strides, I cannot keep up or find my stumbling listening skills twirling and almost giving up. HANCOCK just continues to demonstrate he is not human, a fallen angel sent to give us a glimpse of the Empyrean Realm, allowing us to swim in those sacred waters!!! Damn!!!! God Bless Him!!! God Bless Ron Hubbard, Tony Williams, Ron Carter, et al for moving into our world for a brief time to bring utter joy!
Also freedoms of speech, the press, the right to peaceably assemble, the right to a trial by jury, the possibility of upward social mobility, a democratic government (certainly better than a dictatorship/monarchy), and a high standard of living. America is actually awesome compared to the rest of the world.
man oh man...pure magic
Freddie put this performance in the History Books!

Cuando no sé que escuchar, recurro a esta maravilla. Y la vida se ve de otra manera.
Listening to learn jazz style, and this is just the thing!
something about modal style playing with pentatonic scales played on trumpet that I love.
太他妈牛逼了!!!!!!!爵士乐入门
1:42-2:10 Pure jazz. If you had 30 seconds to demonstrate a pure jazz trumpet solo, this would be it!
True!!!
Best Part !

That's a great song. We're playing it in our middle school jazz band.

+Eric Huang Austin waldorf school tx, you?
Alfred Madere Oh nvm I go to a school in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Cantalope Island, the way it should be played!
0:15 ; 0:46 ,and so on. This Db is a tough one to find ;)
+Mercedes outside line way to play right?
One of the only good things that is actually American

America is actually awesome compared to the rest of the world.
+Owen Frazier Haha :D Riight
Its true that America has those things. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that America is the ONLY free democratic society though.
All the other "free" democratic societies out there are socialist, so yes, we are.
Owen Frazier idiot
Definitely called Cantaloupe Island not cantalope. Either way, this is an awesome version.
Brillantes!!!!! Freddie qué maestro!!!!!!!!!!
man, what a groove, so tight and yet so loose, GENIUS.
Alguém percebeu a nota que o baixista dá aos 47/48 s ??
Horrível, mas acontece, os caras são monstros!
Está bien
D
Adinan Moraes Baixista só, não. É o Ron Carter, o Cadillac dos baixistas.
Top mesmo!!!
1:42 = clean.
+Kelly Goerbig Kills me everytime I hear it since I'm 15 years old.
