i- ?? i love this??? this is so well done and amazing and i cant believe it was your first animation and aaa??? this is just super breathtaking and awesome and i wish i could use some words that are more eloquent than the ones i said to tell you how great this animatic is. like, its been ages since i even thought about this game but this animatic is grabbing me by the ankles and trying to shove me back into the hellhole that is fire emblem
I like how the video points to all these diferent people being the villain, maybe even Sothis and Byleth themself. Especially at the end when Byleth can't make peace when going with any of the lords, they start to doubt themself that maybe they're the reason everything goes bad.
I just want to point out that when they're showing off "heroes" killing with the lyrics "We all pretend" etc. at 1:15 , they have Edelgard killing Dimitri, Dimitri killing Rhea, and finally Byeth killing Edelgard. None of which includes Claude doing anything evil, scientifically proving he truly is our Golden Boy who can do no wrong. I will be accepting no questions or counterarguments at this time.

I'm just imagining how Byleth must've felt, probably going through ad many timelines as possible to find a "good one" where they don't have to kill Dmitri, Claude, or Edelgard, and thr immense disappointment they must've felt when they found they couldn't, no matter what they did.
I think at that point it would be despair, not disappointment
This is why Three houses is my favorite Fire Emblem because besides those who slither in the dark there aren't any real villains.
Except the underground mole people
Edelgard is literally the red faction/villain.

@@hammylove821 Considering she is the only one against the insane Lizard Pope from the start, yeah I'd argue she's the most sensible one actually. She was the only one apparently to see the Red Flags. Ironically.

Not that it would happen, but I would love to see a Three Hopes update to throw Shez in the mix.
I mean, in 3 of the 4 paths Edelgard is the bad guy... So I really fail to see the ambiguity. Especially as her path could have been resolved simply by revealing the evil organization she was supposedly fighting to everyone else who would have joined her without her having to declare war on the world... So yeah... It's not that gray.
It's a bit more complicated. The evil organisation (TWSITD) are practically holding a knife near her throat and it would hard to prove that they exist without risking her own life. Her uncle who got replaced, helps corrupted nobles that could potentially talk against her and even reflect her accusations at her. There is always somebody there watching her. Firstly there was that old guy who got quickly replace by Kronya pretending to be Monica In addition, the war is a bit more complicated. Edelgard wants massive changes in the society and demolish the whole system of nobility and crests. She basically wants to introduce democracy and it would rather hard if we consider the fact that Faergus (Dimitri's kingdom) is slowly corrupted by TWSITD. Plus, there is mentally unstable Rhea that altered history of Fodland and she is well known for severe punishments. Add to that whole situation the fact that Edelgard has a short life span thanks to TWSITD and she ends up being a tragic character. She is a grey character, but a bit more darker spectrum if we consider everything.
I agree 100% but the animation is still very good.
I would think that revealing a secret organization that has mastered spycraft to their worst enemy and local lords would be akin to suicide whether to you plans or person.
Damn this is really good it. Love the quick flash of "Ashen Demon" when showing the crest of flame before swapping to the actual subtitles. The shot of the Byleths standing parallel to each other. The cut from watching Edelgard killing Dimitri then the opposite ah so good. Only issue is Claude he's too good of a guy to even be called a Villain in any story so he doesn't fit, that's not your fault it would feel wrong without him here. That's just the game.

this so accurately captures byleth in this game and their mindset, like they play as all the timelines, they're both the heroes and villains, and see all perspectives and all the lords (and rhea) at one point as heroes or villains. its poetry, truly.

I mean arguably Byleth was always a form of the villain. She was a mercenary before the story and either side that she joins is guilty of many travesties.
