hey! i’ve had my law interview at selwyn recently and honestly i felt the same as nell, i definitely eased more into the second interview but my interview format was: first, a law-related interview, then following that, a general interview by a non-law professor. would you know if both interviews would have a roughly equal weightage, or the law-related interview would have a higher weightage? this has been on my mind for ages 😭

I had my Oxford interviews with my first college last week, and I ended quite a few of my answers in sort of bland way. I re3cently recieved an offer for a second college interview tommorow, so I''m really hoping I'll be able to remember to finalize my answers and end confidently. 😭

I’m surprised by Nell’s comments about preparing answers on “why this college” and doing more research on colleges. Firstly, my understanding is that applicants will not be asked “why choose this college” and this question is specifically off limits for several reasons such as 1. You might not have chosen that college - you could have made an open application but the interviewers do not know this 2. As Nell has shown, you may end up getting an offer from another college in the pool. At Oxford, 20% of successful applicants get an offer from a college they didn’t apply to and very often candidates are ‘sent’ to another college for an interview as part of the interview process - so obviously in that case the candidate has not applied for that college. However, I do agree with Andrew that preparing an answer to “why Cambridge/Oxford?” is worthwhile and a ‘good’ answer to that is something related to the course…rather than just saying it’s pretty and it’s prestigious!

i've just found your channel and it is such a hidden gem as i have an interview for ames this week! what would you say are the major differences between the ames course and mml course aside from the languages studied. is one more literature/politics heavy or is there a mix of all aspects in both. applied for french and arabic :)
