Karen’s exceptional singing voice is universally praised, but I think a large part of its power is also just that her speaking accent isn’t hidden when she sings behind an entertainment persona, which had been a common convention: artists changed their diction when performing. With Karen, her singing voice really is HER voice.

It's a privilege to see three extraordinarily gifted artists in Karen and Richard Carpenter and Carol Burnett perform together. And credit the great songwriting team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David for creating songs that remain forever fresh and appealing.

This was wonderful. I loved seeing the absolute joy in Karen's face and in her voice when she was singing. Truly beautiful.

Karen, was amazing she had such gorgeous tonality in her voice, perfect control and her phrasing was impeccable. She was such a sweet person and with an amazing personality and sense of humor, but always a true professional in every aspect of her craft... Richard, an amazing pianist, keyboardest and arranger I could not see anyone else side by side with Karen as they took this amazing journey as "Carpenters". I still get a lump in the throat when I hear Karen's opening note to "Close To You" I've heard it in my lifetime a million, zillion, times but it never loses its beauty nor it's meaning and that's because of Karen and Richard. We miss you Karen, you were a brilliant jewel on this earth and you are the brightest star in heaven 🌟

Biy i had forgotten how good a singer Carol was. Of course Karen Carpenter is an icon! Her voice was so spectacular! Nxt to Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand respectively.

So glad to see 1965 TòmJones, Cher, and Esther. I was 1 then but I'm glad I can listen especially the Tom Jones hit which I still have dad's record still sounds good!!! DELILAH.

Carol had a good voice and could carry a tune. This is one of the more disciplined singing performances that I’ve seen from her - she rose to the occasion when singing with the incredible Karen Carpenter.

Carol was straight fan-girling. Lol. It was anyone’s dream at that time to sing with the Carpenter’s. This is a treasure.
