Makeral Fry (Green masala)
Green-Marinated Mackerel Oven Fry
Ingredients
4 fresh mackerel, cleaned and scored
1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
2 green chilies (adjust to taste)
4 garlic cloves
1-inch piece of ginger
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions
1. Prepare the Marinade:
In a blender, combine cilantro, mint, green chilies, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and salt. Blend into a smooth paste.
Add olive oil to the marinade and mix well.
2. Marinate the Mackerel:
Rub the green marinade generously over the cleaned mackerel, making sure it gets into the scored cuts.
Marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.
3. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
4. Bake the Mackerel:
Place the marinated mackerel on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish is cooked through and slightly crisp on the edges.
5. Serve:
Garnish with lemon wedges and serve hot with naan, steamed rice, or a fresh salad.
