12-year-old first solo paraglider flight
After 1 year of practice on the training hill, my 12-year-old son finally got signed off for his first "mountain flight". So here we go...

Thanks for asking... Very simple - bad judgement and too much excitement (first comp after 10+ yrs break). Pushed too much into the headwind trying to cross the ridge, sank below it, into the lee, and had to turn back... I would have never done it if it was a regular free flight...

@@travelingsapiens It was pre-PWC in Brasov in Romania, two years ago. I was flying Skyman Crosscountry2. a regular C class glider at that time. Very pleasant wing.
@@alexkolesov1126 I didn't know this wing. They show it as a B wing today. Do you still fly with this wing or have you changed? Still doing comps?
Sorry it was a typo.. the wing was Skyman CrossAlps2. It's a very pleasant (I loved the smooth handling!) and very safe wing for C category, but the size wasn't right for me. I hate carrying ballast, so I don't fly it anymore.

Thanks for sharing this! One of the best if not THE best "Glider Seeking Terra Firma in the Forest" video! All is good until I saw the houses, more scary than landing in a tree, the "broccoli" crown, not the pine! Excellent landing and congratulations!
After watching these landings I am not going to Japan to fly, hahaha! Well, I might change my mind! Thanks for sharing the less than perfect landings!😉

Great ride … so lucky ! Watch your brakes in the video … I think you were scared and so you pulled them most of the time 20-30 cm! I think this is what most of the pilots would do! Hands fully up could bring you farther…

The good and the bad things about having an iron balls. They're heavy so they pull you to the ground, but you are OK cause they're iron ;].
