This is a video looking at five reasons why if you have a fairly modern camera, you really do not need to upgrade to Nikons latest and greatest Z6iii camera. I talk about the five reasons that as a working photographer, means I do not have interest in moving to the Nikon Z6iii.
Please do not forget to like, comment and subscribe!
There are many photos taken from the Z6ii with loads of commentary on each shoot at onecameraonelens.com.

    I have the xt-3 and the Nikon z6iii. The Nikon has good low light performance but so does the Fuji IMO. I never had a problem with low light when shooting raw and processing the photos. The Fuji is easier and more fun to use. It’s smaller and lighter. Both are good cameras but I prefer the Fuji.

    At the end of the day a full frame sensor is not just slightly larger than APS-C. It’s 2.6x the area! That’s a huge amount of extra light and you can’t cheat physics. The difference between APS-C and micro four thirds and between full frame and GFX is much smaller. APS-C to full frame is one of the biggest upgrades you can do in terms of light collecting. I can definitely see the difference in photos - there’s a difference in overall character I see even when comparing lenses of equivalent depth of field. In a few days I will be upgrading to full frame (XT3 to Nikon Z6) for the first time because I just couldn’t stand knowing my images could have better quality. Basically I needed to scratch the itch. Have I been brainwashed by marketing? Probably. But I look forward to other little perks like not having to translate my focal lengths to FF equivalent and not worrying about X-trans issues.

      I could never go back to APSC now. I look back at the image quality of my Fuji and although it's good, it's not Nikon Z6ii good. There is a difference and it's worth upgrading for that difference.

      Couldn't go back to Fujifilm now, but there all cameras are capable of "film simulations". In fact, the new Panasonic cameras allow you to use LUTs, so you can actually use accurate, genuine colour grading on a scale like never seen before.

    I replaced my X-T3 with Nikon Z5 in a sale much cheaper than X-T5. Kept my X100F if they do a medium format version I might bite but GFX lens system is bankrupting. I have some vintage 35mm film camera also. One added bonus if using vintage lens is the numbers don’t change. Those old manual lenses drop the weight even more. I do miss the Acros b+w film recipe though.

    I have canon r6 mark ii and fuji xs-20 and I actually find the detail is comparable. Actually the viltrox 27mm f1.2. Is the sharpest lens i own. Its $545 and the only lens that comes close is my rf 50mm 1.2 thats $2300. I can definitely shoot at higher ISO on the Canon. But the noise looks so much better on the Fuji and cleans up better. If I want to shoot low light with a zoom lens I definitely prefer the Canon. But if im with prime lens. I like my fuji better. My current lenses Canon 15-35 f2.8, 24-105 f4, 70-200 f2.8, 50mm f1.2 Fuji viltrox 13mm f1.4, viltrox 27mm f1.2, 16-50 f2.8-4.8, 70-300mm

    I recently shot a few hundred images during a weekend with a rented Nikon Zf and 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor S lens. Although I did notice improvements in image quality, focusing speed, and accuracy in face and eye detection AF modes, the differences I saw weren't quite as dramatic as what you described. They certainly weren't enough to make me want to dump my Fuji gear. That said, such things are subjective and I am by no means trying to discourage anyone from buying a Nikon Zf--but if someone is having a hard time getting high-quality images from a Fuji XT-5, it's quite likely the photographer and not the camera is the problem.

    • @OneCameraOneLens
      @OneCameraOneLens 3 місяці тому

      Oh, they really are huge improvements if your relying on them for your work. For an amateur, it can be less likely to see them, but there are plenty of responses on here that have seen the same improvements. Thank you for your reply, it's great to see what others see, or shows we all have very different perception and needs.

      @@OneCameraOneLens I disagree. I own Z7 II, X-T5, GFX 100S. I recently went out to a nearby lake and forest and used all three bodies. GFX was a clear winner but the other two were very close. I was using the vaunted FX 90mm on the X-T5, which is one of the sharpest lenses Fuji makes. I used an 85mm Nikkor Z mount on the Z7 II. All shots from a tripod. A critical comparison in Lightroom/Photoshop reveals results that are barely discernible between the two.

    Mark - dude, this was awesome. I was beginning to think I was a bit crazy and the only one hanging on tight to my two Z6ii's. I'm a photographer in Perth, Western Australia. I shoot all the gigs and events for the lady in the city who has the company for organising these things. I shoot fast moving people, dancing, performing etc. I can shoot up to 1.5 - 2K images per shoot. I'd be lucky to have ten to twenty images where I missed focus. Like you, I absolutely hate the screen on the 6iii - total and absolute deal killer. Like you, I bummed along with Fuji for over a decade. I won't take the time to tell you about all my nightmares with Fuji. I swapped over to my two 6ii's two years ago and everything changed. Customers were commenting on how gorgeous my images were. The lady who hires me noticed the difference, so my business benefited. I despise Fuji now and I am filthy with myself for scabbing it so long with Fuji and wasting all that money and time. Like you, anything bigger than my 6ii's are too big. I love the Nikon Z system and I have 7 of their wonderful lenses. The only thing that worries me Mark, is that when I look at their offering, there are none of their cameras that appeal to me. The only two with the same screen as my 6ii's, are the Z8 and Z9. Both too big, too many megapixels, and too expensive (even the 6iii here is 4.5K for body only)!! The thing I'm concerned about is when my current cameras wear out or become too old, what will l do?

    • @OneCameraOneLens
      @OneCameraOneLens 3 місяці тому

      Thank you for that amazing response. To answer your question... I really hope that Nikon release a Z6 version with the screen just like the Z6ii! Surely they've had enough feedback now that shows how much that Z6iii screen is disliked!

      I guess it all depends on what you want from your photography and what you do with your photography. I don't really use jpegs, but they are nice on Fuji. The difference when editing raw files is quite large though. And the difference in image quality is very noticeable to a trained eye.

    Well there's 3D pop and there's no distortion because you didn't hold the lens in the woman's face, where the nose would have turned longer than it really is. Conclusion : you used the lens to its best ❤❤❤

    Your photos look crisp and tight. Good compositions and background blur at 40mm? Wow. Hey, btw, do you know what to say to the other portrait photographers with long lenses? Just tell them their photo probably looks better with you in it! lol. Much love bud ❤️ great job

      Thank you Dan 🤣 yes, there is lovely Bokeh with this lens, I was worried as it was "only" F/2, but I needed not have! Keep up your good work with your videos. I always enjoy them. It's a shame we couldn't meet up for a joint effort like you did recently with the other UA-camr.

    Very interesting and good to hear you are feeling recovered. Not come across you before, been using Nikon since 1980, D750 plus big sigma art for 6 years and feeling it’s a bit of a beast for what it’s worth compared to friends and families everyday pics from iPhones. Was wondering whether to move to smaller system from someone like Fuji, but hearing this and another thing you made makes me think it’s better to stick with Nikon full frame but see if Z5 can deliver the smaller lighter weight and better in camera output that I’d like, but essential that it can easily match the pictures from the phones.

    Excellent video, I've had a Nikon p50 way back and was always impressed by the images it produced. I also liked the optical viewfinder. I have a few CCD cameras in my collection, I've added your channel, it's always good to connect with other retro photographers.

    Why didn't you consider GFX GFX blows away Nikon Z CAMERAS ..😂😂YUP ...AND a GFX 100s is cheaper than a Z8 and unless your shooting birds GFX destroys a Z8 for image quality

    • @OneCameraOneLens
      @OneCameraOneLens 6 місяців тому

      Not interested in GFX for my photography. I shoot a lot of wildlife, birds in flight etc, plus a lot of fast moving objects. Plus, the prices of the lenses and selection of lenses on the GFX system does not compel me at all. Although, I did think about it, I was happy to go back to Nikon, and honestly, wish I had much sooner.

    • @nevvanclarke9225

      @OneCameraOneLens Yeah, I agree the way to go but I don't shoot wildlife. I can't be bothered standing there for an hour. Waiting for birds to come lol...so for me. I'm a landscape and portrait photographer. And that's where the gfx really just sbones. I know what you mean about when you pick Sullivan on your screen. Oh my gosh, my draw dropped when I saw gfx files. I make a decent income.Add a photography now so I can afford the gfx gear and I have a reasonably well paid day job 😀 👍...

    Hi Mark. Good to hear that you are better again. I appreciate your thoughts and why you changed systems. Your arguments for the move to Nikon would be much more clear to me when you would have added just a few comparison images. It is ok to leave Fuji and choose Nikon. I myself owned a Nikon 3 HP in analog times and later on a Nikon D200. I loved them both. God bless and thanks again for your amazing content.

      Thank you, it was just a quick thoughts video, and I do have plenty of images on my website. I do have a video planned to compared my M43/APSC/FF shots, as I do have a few images taken on these cameras which are similar. The trouble is of course, even 95% of my viewers use mobile devices, comparisons are pretty much impossible on such small screens, so I'll get them on a blog too and hope that people use bigger screens. Thank you very much for commenting.
