We just might be dancing Dancing to forget it all Are we just pretending Nothing's wrong? 1973 was the year the music died. Snipers on the rooftops. Riots and stabbings. Teachers leaving or not really teaching. The local news and newspaper promoting half truths. Not letting the Band play Dixie. Apathy ruled.

Hey there. Tell me your thoughts of your new z6 ii with 24-200. Are you happy with both of them? It's light enough the f/4- 6,3 ? I'm thinking to buy the same kit 😊

Winston McKenzie was a star football player who earned a scholarship. However, he was a force on the wrestling mat. In the 73 season he was the team's leading pinner. In the 74 season, which was strangely omitted in the yearbook, Winston had the best team record. Thankfully he was given credit for his outstanding record in the local newspaper. All of these are outstanding accomplishments, Winston will be remembered as a good teammate. As a good teammate he demonstrated skills such as being reliable to the team, encouraging teammates, being responsible, and showing respect to teammates. “The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long.” ― Lao Tzu, Te-Tao Ching

Interesting up-date, after suffering past horrible football seasons from 1970 to 1973 the only Dixie team not suffering a losing season during that time period was the Dixie Hollins Wrestling Team. These records was accomplished despite being confronted with the dismal circumstances during those three years. One of which was a failed football coach turned feckless wrestling coach, initials D.M., who displayed during this three year span his cluelessness and ignorance. The grapplers were the diehards. They were the definition of badass.

The presentation of Bogie's classmates who have passed on was very touching. Consequently the presentation of the 1974 Hollin"s deceased classmates seemed insincere. Bogie's song was touching and heartfelt. Hollin's song was sterile. The pirate ship sailing on the water was prefect with the accompanying song.. Hollin's beach scene tried to connect but failed due to the sterile song. The two schools, once intense rivals, the reunions could not be any more different. The Bogie folks participated together as a fun group while the Hollin' folks despite have a surprisingly successful sports year, after suffering past horrible football seasons, still seemed forever broken and out of touch. So the two reunions are a tale of two schools.

Randy Watson the banjo player in video is still living I know. Still in Gatlinburg Tn. My son in law Wes Parks filled in at time's with these guy's in approx 1994-97. I took pictures of Jack Grooms And The Smoky Mountain Traveler's about that time too. I did the picture for their Album cover. Maybe the last one before Jack passed away. I think it was a cassette at the time. I never got my copy from them. I stayed busy and put it off getting up with Jack when they came out. Not sure now in July 2023" who might have one. I will look through my old video's and pictures to see what I might still have. I made 8x10's and other size pictures. Fred McMahan got some too. And Other guy's. Enjoyed going to hear them play.

The aviary was my fave. But just beyond the second door, I would always turn around and there'd be the cages full of bats up above. My 10-year-old brain was fascinated by them and horrified. I'd always turn and look up.
