Light Tackle Tuna Fishing with Capt. John McMurray (Yellowfin Tuna)
Переглядів 4 тис.2 роки тому
Pretty awesome day jigging up some solid Yellowfin of Long Island NY. We had great success going 5/6 but they did not come easy. Hours and hours of jigging is what paid off! The jig of choice for this trip was a 90 gram No-Mad streaker blue in color. The smaller size gray RonZ also did the trick. The only way to catch tuna is to jig & pop. Fishing for Albies & Bonito off the Beach (Rhode Island False Albacore)
Переглядів 3,4 тис.3 роки тому
A week of catching Atlantic Bonito (Bones), False Albacore (albies) and Chub Mackeral off the beaches and Jetty's of Rhode Islands coast. It was a weird albie season this year with and earlier arrival of fish that then led to a couple weeks of slow fishing and then finicky fish. All fish were caught using 20lb flouro leader, and a 7/8 oz Elric chicken Hogy Epoxy jig.
Bluefin Tuna Fishing Off Block Island RI

Gotta love it when you have a game plan, you follow it, and it works out. We started out the day finding some amazing life which seemed like it would certainly produce fish. Hundreds of whales, dolphins, and tuna chicks feeding on crap loads of bait. After a couple hours of no action we decided to push out past the fleet to some warmer water. To make a long story short it paid off with this awe...
Rhode Island Albie Fishing (Newport False Albacore)
Переглядів 9 тис.4 роки тому
Here is a weeks worth of solid albie fishing off Newport RI. The bite this year has been solid seeings that the fish are feeding on bigger bait. These fish were caught on a 7/8 oz electric chicken Hogy epoxy jig, or a 32 gram colt sniper jig using 20lb fluoro.
Topwater Striper Fishing off Newport RI Beaches (Fall Run)

Epic fall run striper fishing off Newport Rhode Island! Fall run fishing at its finest. These fish were dialed in on peanut bunker and were feeding right on the beach for an hour or two. The school consisted of fish in the 25-28 inch range. I was using a Yo-Zuri Hydro Pencil swapped with VMC inline single hooks. Using single hooks (especially in these situations) is a must. It is safer for you ...
Long Island Sound Striper Fishing!

An awesome day of Striper fishing in eastern Long Island Sound. This was during early July 2020 and the fish were mainly feeding on adult bunker. All of these fish were released unharmed. It is important to use circle hooks when using bait for stripers. Not only is it the law now, but it truly will save many fish. It also provides a great hook set.

Big Striper Breaks Line but is Caught Again! Epic Striper Fishing Awesome day of striper fishing in Long Island Sound. These fish were very fat because they were solely feeding on adult bunker. One of the bigger fish of the day broke my line at the boat but got tangled in Tommy's line so we were able to bring it in with his rod. This is probably the only time when a big tangle up is a good thing!
WINNING the Tightlined Slam Fishing Tournament! (Norwalk CT)
Переглядів 4614 роки тому
Our team came in first place and took home the cup! We won by being the only team to complete a "slam" which consisted of catching multiple striper, bluefish, and bonito or false albacore. Our team landed over 40 stripers, 5 bluefish, and 12 bonito! There was only one other hardtail caught throughout the whole tournament. The Annual Tightlined Slam is a catch-and-release fly and light tackle fi...
GIANT Bluefish Blooper & A GIANT Fluke. Long Island Sound
Переглядів 1554 роки тому
There is nothing more thrilling than chasing giant blues on bug bunker schools. I was using the snag and drop method and finally hooked a BEAST. Unfortunately I thought my camera was off, so when I turned it on to film the battle, I was actually turning it off (not on). The next day I hooked into a HUGE fluke. This is one of the biggest ones I've heard caught in my area of Long Island Sound. I ...

A few summers ago, we had an insane run of bluefish. It consisted of 15 pound blues constantly crushing topwater. This is one of my favorite types of fishing.

Nonstop striper fishing off Newport Rhode Island. This was during late October. The fish were feeding on peanut bunker and were hitting topwater plugs all day.
Great work bud. Some good content. Just subscribed to the channel for future vids. Keep up the great work and tight lines
Thanks for the sub!
All that and no finish. Thank god I jumped ahead. Shit garbage video
Upper Narragansett bay or the Sakonnet? Looks like the island north of Fogland?
For the marshy spot around the Norwalk Islands, were you just going around blind casting until you found a school?
That was one hell of a fight 👏 😳 congratulations 🎉😮😊
Dude filming is annoying, leave the gaf alone.
How many feet is that dinghy
Very cool! I know this was four year ago, can you tell me where the close boat ramp to get the bay, I have a 15 ‘ fiberglass boat. Thanks in advance
Nice catch. what rod, reel and pound line did you have?
Just an amazing fight and I loved the candidness of your video! You really do show your win/lose moments of the battle. Any tuna fisherman can hear those moments. Just a great story here guys! Thanks for sharing and hope you have plenty more adventures to follow!
Thank you!
I was hoping you would post a new video of last seasons albacore fishing, awesome, thanks so much for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Epic Battle

Thank you! Usually the last week of August but it can change every year. Tight lines
What was the tackle used? Great video
Very nice Chanel my friend
What a teaser , waiting to see you land that fish and nope gopro goes out
Yeah man some luck :/ sorry
What is your boat length?
Why is he still doing this? Because your using a set up for snappers to catch bluefin. You guys are lucky you boated that fish!!!
Is this Rhode Island? Can you give me an address? Also ask what month it is😊😊
Very nice 👍 good Channel my friend
we catch these lil photon torpedoes down here in panama city florida. once i had a frozen cigar minnow with the bale open while paddling the kayak to get some line out.... heard a sound ive never heard before...turned around and found the source of the sound... it was line being torn off the spool of my battle 5k at a rate i did not think was possible. but these also make the very best shark bait for shore fishing.
Tuna ridge!
Are tuna usually caught there?
Yup
What the location
read up on your real it shuld tell you how to use the drag the right way
What size rod?
how many miles were you off B.I. and how many feet is the boat?
20 miles south of block
@@chasef14 thank you. great video .
@@hillaryilinsky1009 thank you & thanks for watching!
Can I use a 7ft rod here?
Definitely if there aren’t huge waves. If the surf is big, you may wanna find a protected area
@@chasef14 👍thanks
@@breastmeatonly no problem thanks for watching!
Shows the weakness of spinning gear. Back in the day my dad and I would nail 200lb yellowfins on a penn 113 loaded with 50 mono. Maybe try a Tranx for casting?
I 5hink you need more rods on your boat
I honestly agree!! 🤔lol
Hey chase what’s the location to that spot looks really fun would love to fish there awesome catches by the way
crazy that back in the 60's, 200 lbs was considered a football. 800lb giants were common, with some 1300+ lb monsters thrown in. beautiful fish!
Wow I wonder if we will ever see times like that again. Thanks for watching!
That was me in the worldcat and on the radio. Nice job!! just watched this and got all excited about this year.. can't wait. Tight lines.
Hahaha that’s awesome I love that! What a great tuna year last year. Hoping next year is the same. Tight lines thanks for watching!
That is amazing stripper bass bites 🔥👍
Nice catch 👍👍
next time do circles with the boat around the line when fighting the fish, works every time. Nice video.
Thanks! Good idea, thx for tip will try next year
When did you catch it ?
What spot was this I want to catch a albie for the first time
Matunuck Beach jetty
Well done Chase! They dissappear this week or any hope for one this weekend?
Thanks! I fear they may be gone from RI waters but I got on them in Long Island sound last weekend and I know they’ve also been at Montauk
I'm from newport/fall river alz are the most fun
I need to catch one. So much action. Nice job!
what month do you have to go in order to find these kind of fish? Does work on the morning or evening?
Usually all fall. I like the morning
Serious battle there, but y'all made it soldiers. I enjoyed it keep them vids coming.
