You got a video on the Truball HBC Flex ck ?
@@dougkiefer7073 hello Doug. I don't have a video on the HBC Flex just yet. I don't have plans to purchase a CK since it's just an HBC with a different finish, but I do plan on doing a video on the Aileron (which is an HBC Flex with a fancy handle) if it ever ships. So the HBC Flex and possibly the HT will get some attention in that video, depending on whether I decide to talk about the evolution of that platform.
@ I look forward to it . I looked at the Aileron and the executive flex but ended going with the HBC Flex CK merely because Lancaster had it on sale . 😂was just curious if I need to purchase a click moon or if it’s reversible🤷♂️
@@dougkiefer7073 IIRC the included sear should have a standard length click on one side and be smooth on the other. They also have a fast-click sear available for purchase that is also reversible to reveal a smooth sear.
@@ajbholsters2035 ok thank you it should arrive tomorrow so I’ll definitely mess around with it
You’re completely wrong on what Joel says about anticipation. Your brain does not like explosions and it’s 100percent proven. I think people are m@d they didn’t do the research and thought about helping people. I personally know people who were helped with anticipation. What pisses me off is when people come on UA-cam and talk trash about someone that helps people. Bodie turner uses his strategy and is one of the best archers in the world. It’s very ironic that someone that is super monotone and was picked on all through school is on UA-cam talking shit about a guy that thought is kid something that had him winning little tournaments like Vegas by the age of 11 and your in a basement and collect releases
@@Verticalbowoutdoors I'll address a couple points without resorting to childish insults. It's not a good look to be using them as an adult. 1. Joel Turner doesn't help people out of the goodness of his heart. It's his business and he makes money doing it. I'll never fault anyone for finding something they're good at making a living off it, but to think his motives are purely altruistic is naive. Any unpaid advice he offers is in service of advancing his brand. 2. No one on this earth has a right to not be criticized. If I don't agree with a statement someone makes and I would like to offer a counter argument, I'm going to discuss it on my channel. If you disagree with me, then explain what I got wrong and we can discuss it. If what I say makes you upset, then don't watch my content. Your mental state has no bearing over what I choose to say on my channel. 3. Bodie Turner is an excellent archer. He was also taught from a young age when he was a complete blank slate with zero baggage. The fact that Joel's system works for him is not an indication that it will work for someone else. Why? Because we all bring different experiences and other disciplines (i.e. baggage) into our shot processes, especially if we begin participating in archery as adults. Most of us are not a blank slate with a coach as a father. I'm not trying to take away from Bodie's accomplishments, but he's a sample size of one. 3. Systematic desensitization and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can absolutely help with the body's reaction to uncomfortable stimuli. It's not the only way to do it, but it's a tool that might just work. If you care to discuss the topics further, I would be happy to do so. Otherwise, please feel free to avoid my content. Take care, stay safe and happy hunting.
Care to share your bow/arrow specs and what pin gaps you get with the 3 pin vertical? Thanks for the thorough review!
@@karowhack2 thank you for checking out my content. To be fully candid I haven't yet taken the time to sight it in for the correct tape due to the time of year, temperature and other obligations. I will try to follow up when I get back to the outdoor range and set up the tape and the indicators for the second and third pin. Something else that makes it difficult is that I need to commit to the release I plan on using. It's too much fun to go to the range with a bunch of them, but it kills my accuracy. The bow I'm using is an Athens Axxis 35. Draw weight is 65#, Draw length is 28". The arrows I'm using are Bloodsport Onyx 350's that I found online for $40 a dozen (I try not to spend a lot on arrows since every flight could be their last) They have their outsert system and 100gn points, TAC 225 vanes and are probably around 450gn based on them being 10.3gpi (though I haven't weighed them). I recently picked up a used 80# Darton Veracity, so that's going to be showing up in my videos as well. Again, when I have a chance I'll follow up with more specific info or do a follow-up video. Take care, stay safe and happy hunting 👍.
@@ajbholsters2035 Appreciate the complete response and info! I have my Pruf ordered, so maybe I'll beat ya to the punch on getting it sighted in! I know the fun in swapping through releases as well, so I understand that pain! Good luck to you!
@karowhack2 you too. Have fun with your Prüf. I think it's a solid platform. If you would be interested in following up as well, I'd love to compare notes 👍
Exeptional work. Thanks for the scans. One thing which would improve the files is to have verification measurements included. Just short lines with inch and centimeters printed. After printing it's easy to measure if they printed out correctly.
@@jussimikkonen172 thank you very much, and thank you for the suggestion. I do plan on adding a ruler to the sheets to verify the scale. It might make it possible to avoid needing to print them out. Then you can just verify the scale accordingly on your phone or computer. It's on my to-do list. When I get some time I'll probably redo the whole thing.
With all of the reviews that you have done what would you say is the best hand held release for the smoothest shot process
@@wadephillips3882 that's a tough call. If we're talking release types, then I think a hinge is probably going to give the most "fluid" shot process. I find it easier to maintain tension pushing with my bow hand towards the target and pulling against the stops with my release arm. I just let go of the thumb peg after I anchor and then push/pull and the hinge goes off in a single, purposeful movement (in theory 😜). Technically a resistance activated release could work similarly, but they can feel inconsistent (either because they mechanism is actually inconsistent or because the archer himself is inconsistent). So they require a degree of consistency that is harder to produce when conditions are less controlled (e.g. indoors @ 20 vs on a 3D course with uneven footing or up/downhill targets, or shooting after a workout vs when your muscles are 100% fresh). There's a reason you don't see many of them in competition when money is on the line. Sometimes you have to be able to command the release when things just aren't quite lining up properly. Thumb releases require the most discipline to use consistently, and i wouldn't call their operation as "smooth" as a hinge. If you're looking for my favorites, I like the TRU Ball Ultimate Flex for a thumb release. There is something about that release that just works for me, despite my issues with what it is and how it's marketed. I think it's the machined finger beds. For a hinge, right now i am using the Scott Longhorn Expert Small. I like the independent click and speed sears, and the handle is comfortable, fits my hand very well, and the upswept ring finger creates a repeatable grip. The angle on the head makes it so anyone can use it and draw it at whatever angle the archer prefers, so that always gets a 👍 in my book. The Stan LynX is good as well for its high range of customization. I just wish they took it one more step and made it micro-adjustable with independent click and speed sears. I'm sure they're going to at some point. Realistically, the release that fits your hand the best and works with your style of shot execution may be different from mine, so it's difficult to pinpoint a single model. Anyway, I hope that was helpful and answered your question.
@ thank you for the response it was very helpful. I shoot the UV 2.0 hinge right now and it feels like it fits my hand really good. I tend to go back to target panic with a thumb button.
Love your reviews. If you had to pick between the Stan clicker or the UV which would be your pick
@@ericknight3735 hello and thank you for checking out my content. Between those two, I would pick the OnneX Clicker every time. Its made in the USA, comes in 5 sizes and two materials (so there will be a size to fit your hand), it comes in a kit so you can customize it to your preferences without spending extra money, the handle is sweep adjustable for additional customization, and the trigger can be set up with or without the click by adjusting the trigger travel. The hook height and position also make it easier to pair up to other releases from different brands. For me the UV Button doesn't even match point of impact with the Hinge 2.0. So if I decided to use mine I'd have to commit a bow to it fully and I don't want to have to do that. I like having a hinge and a thumb for each of my bows that give me a similar point of impact.
@@ajbholsters2035 Thanks that is some great information. Really like your content, very different from the rest out there. You are just no BS and not trying to sell a product. Keep it up.
@ericknight3735 thank you very much. That's exactly what I'm trying for 👍
Thank you for all your reviews! could you advise me on your top 3 favorite hinges. I'm looking to get a hinge. Thanks
@@billhemphill1243 thank you for checking out my content. I don't know if I have favorites, per se, but the ones I'd recommend right now are: Stan LynX (best value, most customizable, comes in 4 sizes, accepts trainer lock pin). If you are looking for a first hinge, this is what I'd go with. Scott Longhorn Expert (good ergonomics, independent click and speed adjustment; comes in 2 sizes) TRU Ball HBC Flex (good ergonomics, comes in 3 sizes, micro-adjustable speed; been on the market for as long as it has for a good reason).
Great video. In my correspondence with precision cut archery their algorithm accounts for the slope of the aes. I’ve had excellent luck using a lab radar and their software using down range speeds
@@sarcazmo thank you very much for checking out my content, and for the information. That's good to know that there are services available that match tapes to the changes made by the AES system.
Looking forward to the full review on this. Currently deciding between the apex core, stb2, or stan onnex thumb. Great content!

Original Fulkrum is still the G.O.A.T
@@nathangross7216 i wish it fit my hand better. TRU Ball half-assed the sizing between the medium and large.
I agree that renaming things is unnecessary. Naming your products off is usually a TM thing. As always I appreciate your videos.
@@bkurjiaka thank you for checking out my content. You're right. I'm sure some of it is for trademark purposes, like the Void Dial. Renaming the other elements like the scope is, as you say, unnecessary. It just invites confusion.
You are, good sir, the absolute best reviewer of anything on UA-cam. Could you please start reviewing skis, bikes, fly rods, and all things I may need some insight to in the future. It is obvious you are curling up in front of the camera with a cold glass of I don’t give a fuck and not the koolaid these companies spew. Your insights are clear and as logical as a Vulcan delivered with the attitude of a Klingon that took some Xanax after a Snoop Dog concert. Keep up the great content!! Thank you!!
@@drkadrkadrka thank you very much. 🤣 I got a good laugh at your description of my style. I'm also an old-school Trekkie, so that made it better. I sometimes refer to how I review things as "weaponized autism", but I like your description as well. If I start any new hobbies, I'll expand the "ad Nauseum" series to include them. With most of the major archery channels essentially being extensions of a company's marketing department, i figured there was a place for someone with no incentive to promote the products to give a fairly objective assessment of them so the customer understands what they're getting. So far most of the reception has been positive, so I will keep going with it. I won't be cuddling up to the manufacturers any time soon, but that's not my goal. Anyway, thanks for the laugh and stay tuned for more 👍.

I’m in Pennsylvania and man you have a nice shooting range! Love the content
@@pamobilebowhunter4655 thank you. It's a club range I live about 2 miles from that I volunteer at. It's a dream of mine to relocate and be able to set up something similar on my own property.
@ where about is this club? I’m in Westmoreland county
@@pamobilebowhunter4655 Falls Township, which is a suburb of Philadelphia. So I'm on the other side of the state from you.
Thanks for your video. We just got these and I have the release on my desk to write a production description for our shop and I wasn't sure if I was just to dumb to understand how it is supposed to work. The locking screw for the third finger module was definitely too tight from the factory to loosen it with this little tool and as it doesn't fit the locking screw from the speed settings, you couldn't use it for anything out of the box. You would actually want to tighten the screw for the finger module quite a bit to make sure it doesn't move after a couple of shots, so using the tool for that is basically out of the question (and was for the old version as well). So as far as I see it, it had one practical use before and now they made sure to remove that and make it practically useless.
@@Bogensportshop thanks for watching. For what it's worth, I'm glad it was useful to you. I do not understand what they were thinking. They stopped including any tools and additional accessories (i.e. the 4-Finger Flex fingers) and made the only tool they still include on one of their releases almost entirely useless.
@@ajbholsters2035It's a mess!
I mean even if a piece of clothing got caught underneath of it unless you're saying like during Medrol you're afraid something might get under it I can see that
@@Gibsonlife573 i think it might have been a fluke because I lengthened the travel and it stopped being able to be pushed up. My other dozen or so OnneXes don't do it either, so it may have just been a one-off.
My personal opinion that's what you want you want even pressure across your fingers just think about it then you don't have to move as far to break the shots let's say you set it up really hot you're going to have a hell of a lot more movement even if you only go a little ways with your hand because it's twisted so bad
@@Gibsonlife573 I agree that minimal movement to get the release to let go of its hook is ideal, but I think it comes down to what the archer is accustomed to doing (whether it's technically correct or ideal or not) and whether he is interested in adjusting his form to be able to use a specific piece of equipment. With the hinges I use regularly, their geometry fits with my style of draw and shot execution better than hinges that require drawing with even finger pressure across the finger beds. I'm not interested in making changes (at least until I see tangible improvements or commit to learning to use it proficiently) so there are plenty of other options that suit me better.
You definitely deserve it
@@Gibsonlife573 thank you. It's been a fun ride 👍😜
With ranch fairy my understanding is this would you rather hit somebody with a toothpick or with a log I don't prescribe to it all the way but I tell you now I do shoot a 500 grain Arrow 550 grains sorry and I can reach out touch something at 80 yards so I'm good with that I ain't going to shoot at nothing past that but I have seen a huge difference I have shot one with the light arrow and a mechanical and then I have shot one with a heavier arrow and a fixed blade and it's a big difference
@@Gibsonlife573 that's a fair assessment. I brought him up because a heavier arrow is going to require a longer sight tape, and it limits the amount of available arrow clearance before the bottom of the scope gets in the way of the arrow. This is likely not an issue for most archers since they're not going to loose arrows at long distances when hunting most game (Elk and other large animals withstanding) but since this sight is aimed and those who hunt and also attend TAC events (which I think that group is more likely to buy it) where 100+ yard targets are common, holdovers or secondary pins may be required if the arrow is too heavy or the draw weight is too light to launch it with enough momentum.
About the shot IQ dang I seen they all shot together with elk shape him and Bodie Turner and Bodie was pounding but his dad was missing everything but once again his dad was trying to be real cool and shoot a compound with a release by aiming down the Arrow by holding the release up on the side of his face how are you going to find that same spot every time
@@Gibsonlife573 I think Joel chose to shoot his compound without a sight in that video for two possible reasons. 1. He's better with a recurve and wanted to stick as close to what he knows while still being about to participate (since TAC is decidedly not designed for recurves). 2. The more cynical part of me thinks Joel isn't that good of a shot with a compound and didn't want to show it on camera. So he purposely handicapped himself to lower the viewers' expectations. The commentary goes from "Joel hit it in the ass; he's not as good as I thought he was" to "he missed, but he's not using a sight"
This is just like the Mathews Bows everybody pushing them so hard and then here you got mfj JJ talking about oh and Matthews was number one they're going to be when all the influencers everybody pushing them so hard and put them in people's face saying they're the best
@@Gibsonlife573 influencers are just extensions of a company's marketing department, and Staff Shooters use what they're paid to use. Josh Jones sells the products he reviews and has a vested interest in minimizing their flaws. Unfortunately that all means in order to get an honest opinion about something requires waiting until us common folk (who don't get early access) get our hands on them and share what we think about them.

@@Gibsonlife573 that's true. I'm not sure exactly why companies are choosing aluminum dovetail bars over carbon. Axcel's new Driver looks like it has an aluminum bar as well, though they're made in the USA and most carbon fiber products are made in Asia. It might have to do with the pricing of everything increasing. Aluminum is still fairly inexpensive and it could be machined into a single piece whereas a carbon bar needs to be capped with an aluminum mounting bracket. Might as well make it one piece, I suppose.
So over $400 for One release
This is super nice I wish you would his son Barrel to fit Stan's Peg
@@Gibsonlife573 he's working on some new designs that will eventually cover a wider range of models. He has a passion for archery and a unique perspective that will hopefully blossom into some truly innovative stuff.
So you move your head over to the string usually when I come back to Anchor and when I touch all I got to do is turn my head just a little bit and my nose is on the string which like you said as long as you do it the same way every single time I watched a video just a minute ago about Levi Morgan how if you turn your hand just very little bit at your anchor how it can make you hit different so you definitely got to keep that very consistent where your hand is turned up and down on your anchor not about exactly where you anchor just how it is parallel to the Earth
@@Gibsonlife573 thanks for watching. Hopefully when I have time to add more to this series I'm going to try and stress that drawing an anchoring is a process unto itself and if you develop a routine that starts at your feet and moves up your body, you'll be able to draw, anchor and get on target without having to fidget or make any adjustments. Everything will be lined up where it needs to be with the archer barely giving it any thought.
Dame it looks thick
@@Gibsonlife573 the handle isn't too bad in terms of thickness for my short fingers. The issue for me is sizing. The ring finger piece and the middle finger beds are too big on the medium and my fingers are swimming in them. It's tough to get a consistent feel for it and if I just bunch up my fingers my ring finger ends up sitting on top of the joint between the ring and middle finger beds. That's not entirely TRU Ball's fault that my hands don't fit it, but the handles on the Fulkrum and Abyss medium and large are the same size. The only difference is the diameter of the index finger ring.
When you finally get the driver site, can you tell me if it’s possible to use the side mount bar as your bridge lock bar or will you need to buy the bridge lock attachment bar because I have a Matthews as of right now, but I am definitely getting a different brand bow in the future Most likely one with the pic mount
@@MrChiumiento will do 👍. I'm curious about that as well because neither the side mount dovetail nor the bridge lock have an offset built into them, and the Driver doesn't look to have a lot of windage adjustment. This is more an issue for the side-mount, but I'll follow-up on both points when I can.
I love the mess up on the end of it awesome. Glad to see your back, making videos again, man I love listening to you talk in ad nauseam about this stuff. Most of my favorite UA-camrs are people who do no BS reviews. Hope to hear more of you in the future.
@@MrChiumiento thank you very much. I figured I'd throw in some bloopers at the end 😜. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I learned a few things about editing from this video, so hopefully I'll get them out on a more regular basis.
Dialed has confirmed they don’t have enough windage on Hoyt in particular and have a new updated pic mount to correct this issue. I believe Prime users may need it as well unless. Just FYI.
@@mackstrate6235 that is good to know. Thank you for the information 👍.
I’m not impressed with the design on the Trident. Especially after watching your entire review and I like your personal insight. The Solex has a double sear in which there’s pressure or felt energy drag? from the draw weight. Very “ crisp” and snappy. I keep it set zero travel with heavy tension for trading purposes to make me actually have to pull thru. Keeps my body in what I call “ archery shooting shape”. 👍👍
@@timbow50 thank you very much. Yes, this type of release TRU Ball has concocted is an acquired taste and I don't think their marketing around it gives the public an accurate description of it. They do that a lot . Anyway, thanks for watching and I'm glad you fix it useful 👍
The design of the UV and this one are 100% not appealing to me at all. And , naturally, the cost. I’ll just stay with my CBE tl slider 3 pin. I custom made the top and bottom have blue fiber optic which is so great for night hunting pigs.
@@timbow50 thank you for watching and for your perspective. You found a sight that meets your expectations and it sells at a lower price point. Nothing wrong with that 👍.
Another great video. I am going to wait till you get the axcel driver. Dialed, ultraview, or axcel. For the price of these i want to get what suits me best. Either way they are all good.
@@bulletsandbroadheads thank you very much for watching and for the compliment. God only knows when the Driver is going to show up, but i think it will be a contender. The "improvements" made to it in light of stepping on another company's patent pending designs knocks it down a few pegs, but I'll know for certain when I have it. I also broke down and ordered a HHA Nytrx. It might be getting delivered tomorrow or Wednesday (I order it on Saturday and got a shipping notification today), so I'll add that to the mix. The HHA sights (particularly the Tetra and NyTrx) share a number of similarities with the Dialed Arxos and Prüf, so it might end up being a less expensive alternative. All I'll need after that is a Spott Hogg Boonie and I can do an ultimate head to head comparison. Like you said, they're all good. It just comes down to the features you want abd the layout of their controls and sight tapes.
I wanted the Axcel Driver but I’m impatient so ordered the Pruf plus that 3 pin horizontal is my jam
@@dougkiefer7073 thanks for watching. Yeah, I ordered a Driver in November when they put them up on Lancaster's website. Hopefully it'll ship some time this year. I don't think you'll be disappointed with your choice 👍.
Left hander here, I can confirm that my Pruf is a true left hander.
@@JimmyK-s2j thanks for watching, and for confirming that Dialed Archery takes their job seriously 👍.
Think the Axcel Driver is going to be the winner
@@ctreece7506 probably, but I would have preferred the layout of the Driver before it underwent "improvements" to avoid possibly being sued at some point in the future. I'll cover all that in the Driver's own review when I receive mine.
@ yeah, that windage knob being on the inside may be a little inconvenient. Buttttt I bet the clicks on that knob will actually work lol
I appreciate this was posted a year ago, but hopefully you will pick up on this question. How easy is it to remove and replace the pin that connects the head to the release body ie the pivot pin that goes through the sear mechanism? Thank you for the reviews - always great!
@@colindakers9336 hello and thank you for checking out my videos. I just checked my Executive, and it is not difficult to remove the pin holding the head in place. If you look on the side of the head there is a small Philips head screw. That screw is what keeps the pin from drifting out. If you remove that screw the pin can be pushed from the opposite side the screw is mounted and drifted out. You'll need a #0 screwdriver bit and a small punch or Allen key to push the pin out.
@@ajbholsters2035 Thanks for that. I was a bit concerned that the sears would end up pinging off all over the place when I push the pin through! I am based over here in Scotland and it has taken forever to get a small size, but there appears to be a problem with that pin. Not sure if Truball have installed the incorrect size, but it seems very short and easily slides back and forth with a large amount of play in the head. So much play that even on the slowest setting, the release still fires mid draw. Difficult to explain, but with the pin hard against that small Philips screw, the pin isn’t long enough to hold the opposite side of the head in place…so it causing the hook to be pulled off the sear and thus, prematurely releasing. If you push the pin to the point where it is holding the head securely, the the release functions fine for a couple of shots and then the pin slides back over to one side and it starts misfiring again. Really annoying!! Anyway, thanks again, it is much appreciated.
@colindakers9336 sounds like you are correct that the pin is too short. Mine seats into the hole and the pin sits flush with the bottom of the head of that screw. Hopefully TRU Ball gets you sorted out and sends a replacement. When you go to take it apart, you can keep the punch in place to hold the sears in their positions, then use the replacement pin to push the punch (or whatever you're using) back out. Either that or disassemble it in a plastic bag to keep any parts from flying out. They don't seem to be under any tension, but it never hurts to keep everyone contained 😜. Good luck and hopefully they take care of you.
I think the thumb curl method is the most consistent, and best way to avoid "punching" and to avoid sensing movement of the trigger. It can still be executed with command style shooting. It is my opinion that placing the barrel in the distal knuckle is incorrect. I know both Dudley and Joel Turner teach that method, but it has greater potential for lack of consistency for the average shooter.
I had no idea the brass / gold wise choice was so rare. A buddy at my local archery club has one. I’ve held it. I’m currently shooing carter releases but have only ever purchased second hand. It’s unfortunate I can’t choose a color but at least I know not to waist my time looking and to just get it custom coated. 👍🏻
@@eloyvillarreal9882 your friend is extraordinarily lucky to have managed to bag one of those. I have a few brass Carters and they don't become available often. Anyway, yes, I don't know how Carter gets away with sending out random colors with no forewarning to the customer. I think it's just expected at this point 😵💫.
I have purchased a couple thumb releases based off your reviews and you haven’t lead me astray With that being said I would like to try out a hinge for hunting. What one would you recommend?
@@buckconnolly1820 thank you very much. I'm glad my reviews were helpful for you. I will try to answer your question as best I can. I think just about any hinge you can use consistently could be used for hunting, provided you practice with it at the angles you plan on loosing your arrows (uphill, downhill, sitting down, twisted at odd angles, taking your time or having to accelerate your shot process). Get one that fits your hand comfortably and train with it while wearing your hunting gear so you can feel how your gear affects your mobility or the feel of the release. If you plan on wearing gloves, same thing. I think one requirement would be a lanyard attachment point. Most have them now but since there's only one hinge-like release that can be locked onto a d-loop (Evolution Ibex) and I don't recommend it, then you're going to want to be able to secure it to your wrist to avoid losing it or dropping it. Scott just came out with a hinge called the Fusion, which can be configured a number of different ways including attaching it to a buckled wrist strap. Something like that would be ideal for hunting, and give you some options to experiment with it's configuration. So if pressed, I'd say give that one a try. If somebody put a gun to my head and told me I'd need to go bag a deer with a hinge, I would go with the new Longhorn Expert from Scott. It's easy to adjust, has a comfortable handle, is hard to drop because of the shape of the handle, has a spring under the hook instead of a rubber band, and has a lanyard loop to run a cord. The Stan LynX is another good one. You can get it in any size, and it is probably more customizable than any other hinge on the market. It's only drawbacks are a lack of hook retention and it does not have a micro-adjustable sear. So setting it up will be more tedious, but once you have it set up it is a great option. The TRU Ball HBC Flex is a good one as well because its head is spring loaded so you can move it around without making any noise. It also has a lanyard hole. The TRU Ball releases don't fit my hand as well due to their goofy sizing scheme and use of the same Flex fingers for medium and large models, but if they feel comfortable for you, that's another option. I hope that was helpful. It's tough to narrow things down when there are so many options to choose from. If you have any follow-up questions, please feel free to hit me up.
@@ajbholsters2035 thank you for the detailed reply that was way more helpful then reading articles and watching other UA-camrs. The HBX Flex is what my local shop carries, I think I will pick one up and play around with it.
@@buckconnolly1820 my pleasure. I'm always happy to help. The HBC Flex is a good hinge. It's been on the market, largely unchanged, for as long as it has for a good reason. I have scans of it on my website for sizing reference. Small is actually small, medium is large and large is XL. It's unfortunate the newest version, the Aileron, did not get the independently adjustable click and speed along with the handle flaps, but I suppose they had to hold something back for 2026 🙄.
Do u have play where the scope rod goes into the frame? I noticed when I grab the scope I can wiggle it around quite a bit even tho the scope is tight where it connects to the rod if u know what I mean…and is there a way to get rid of that play.
@@matthewwollmann5803 thank you for watching. My UV Slider is from Batch 3, and there is a tiny bit of wiggle in the area between the scope carrier and the rail on which it slides (at least I think that's where it's wiggling). I hadn't noticed until I just took it out, grabbed the scope and checked to see if it has any play. So mine isn't bad. I believe one of the various screws on the scope carrier is supposed to adjust the tension for moving it up and down the rail, and I think it is the one at the top of the rail on the arrow shelf side. There is a hole with a screw in it and a locking screw perpendicular to it and facing forward. That should adjust tension between the rail and the scope carrier, and it may clear up the play you are experiencing. If that's not it, I would recommend contacting UV or posting on a FB group like Ultraview Junkies to see if they know the solution.
