looks as new again, and the details add a lot. :) I don't think they sold many of this casting. to a kid it doesn't look like anything, it's just a silly prototype... but seems there is an important history to it. one only we grown-ups care about. :)

looks great again. :) love the interior details, somethign similar was actually available as interor option back when. :) the best GSI was the 2door without any other options and the 16v-150HP engine, because it was the lightest. :) I used to work on them back in early 90's.

Properly refreshed. :) I hope you won't discard or plunder the other castings. there are so many around, and the original had so many colour variants, there is always room for more code-3 models. :) (whatever that means, exactly. is there a list explaining these codes somewhere?)

Lovely I had a white GTE for a while with the electronic dash 👍 The power steering was too light and the seats too soft I thought.

I can remember I had this car from Matchbox in my childhood. It was also one of my favorites. Also I like the Opel Kadett E GSi very very much! But nowadays a very rare sight on classic car shows unlike the Golf II which seems to be a great survivor - but the Golf Mk2 is also known for its good rust protection. The Mk3 was very much the opposite in quality and rust protection.
