Great video thanks. Re the food waste vs food poverty issue. Even though it’s not going to homeless people a lot of ppl are using this as a way to get cheaper food who were struggling to make ends meet. The reason I use it is because it’s cut my food bill in half. The reducing food waste angle is just an added extra for me.

I’m Madeiran and cooking with garlic, olive oil white wine and parsley is very much a Portuguese style. There are some things the French do which are similar to ours but that’s because we are both European countries with some similar food resources. However French cuisine is very much different from ours with some similar dishes that are a bit similar but not the same!

Fish like dourada or roubalo are much easier to eat if you ask the restaurant to cook them "opened". BTW, sorry to disappoint you but Madeira has a large number of major fish farms off the South-East coast...you can spot them sometimes just before landing. There are also trout farms inland.
