Honestly the whole Prospect of it is Staind deeply by the majority of DOT requirements in the past but the next Generation of Japanese motorcycle will have blind spot warning system and then 5 to 10 years they might become required as they did with the backup cameras in 2019, but by far the most interesting thing is a complete heads up display integrated through either glasses or somehow projected through the helmet.
you would need a heads up display the reaction speed wouldn't be feasible if you had to look at the dash
great video….i’m trading in my 2006 Goldwing this week for a new to me 2018 Tour DCT airbag, and I can’t wait !!!
Scott, I'm excited for you! Congrats.
way too much money for not having a brake signal. Wireless brake signal techs been around for 30 years. That one is just a big overpriced red light.
Thanks for your comment. I am stopped all the time by other riders asking where they can get a Brake Free unit. I have noticed cars staying further behind me. I suggest looking at other reviewers as well. It lights up when you are slowing BEFORE you even apply the brakes. Such as in the case of engine braking. John
@@SoulFuel001 I ended up buying one just to check it out. I still think they dropped the ball by not having a brake signal though. Or at least the option, especially for the price. They were talking about another version years ago but looks like it never happened.
Interesting. My car has a similar feature and I do like it in the car. This sort of thing can actually be distracting until you have used it for a while. But, since I almost never ride on multi lane roads I'll probably pass.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001?sub_confirmation=1 . I personally don't find it distracting. Just the opposite, it gets my attention when somebody comes up fast or switches quickly from a couple lanes over. When I do ride on multi-lane highways I love the added safety! John
What windshield are you running? Thanks for the video

I am riding a 2022 Kawasaki Concours 14. I ride 24/7/365, cold and rainy. The Concours has handled magnificently in the weather. It has been the best all-weather bike that I have owned, having spent 25 years on Harleys. I have been considering buying a new Goldwing in a year or two, but I am curious about weather protection and the bike's ability to handle wet weather on its components. My bike always sits under a carport at home or work.
The bike is incredibly durable. You might want to search the subject at www.gl1800riders.com/forums/2018-newer-goldwing-board.193/Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001?sub_confirmation=1 . Thanks, John

thanks for the comment please tell your friends bla bla bla bla
I'm on my second one. Bought a 2022 in 2022 and sold it in 2023 to ride my Indian. However I missed it so much that I just bought another 2023 New old stock Goldwing Tour and I won't make the same mistake again. This one is a keeper.
Good for you!!! Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001?sub_confirmation=1 . Thanks, John
I am old skool guy,so I prefered HD than GW..GW is too advanced and it's look like racing car. Not like HD bagger they look classic and more masculine..😆😆😆
Welcome to the channel. Check out my HD reviews as well. I'm thankful there are so many choices when it comes to motorcycles!!! Thanks for the comment. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001?sub_confirmation=1 . Thanks, John
Not great, not a gimmick. Just something that is usefull.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
I really like this bike. Local dealer has one that is decked out with the side bags and top bag along with the crash protection and extra lighting. Looks nice, but I probably wouldn't go for all the extras because it adds a good bit to the price. I guess a guy could always add it later. I love that it has the tubeless spoke wheels. I would use this bike mainly as a touring bike. I know it can do some off road, but I wouldn't feel comfortable taking any bike this heavy off road more that a dirt road. I know there are people who can take these on a gnarly single track, but that guy isn't me. My biggest sticking point right now is it would be hard to choose which bike to give up for one of these.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. Checkout my BMW R1250 GS Adventure and Triumph Tiger GT 1200 PRO reviews. Triumph especially runs some pretty aggressive promotions. Late last year they were including the panniers for free and discounting $2,000. It's an awesome bike. I love the Adventure bikes. Lot's of great choices. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
Also, I think the Pan America Special is a great value when it comes to a new HD.
any of them you have trade them
Well hopefully u got one?
I had my hesitation too when I purchased mine. And I will say the 22 model I bought new had setback in the electrical which took a few months to sort out but it’s a phenomenal bike. Frankly I’ve taken this bike out to places I should not have and did just fine. It is a capable machine.
I have the same bike, 2020. I so love my bike. In 35 years of riding, I would say straight out, the best machine ever, for me. Yes, not perfect, but for me IT IS. This is my commute machine and can't wait to ride it. I keep looking on the web if one day I will have the need to ride something else, and I just can't find it. No HD, no BMW, Honda IS the best touring bike in the world.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. That's awesome. I am VERY happy with mine as well!! Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
I had a 2017 Road King. Loved it. I had two reasons for trading. 1) My wife wanted the tour pack for long trips along with the stereo. 2) I wanted navigation. I went from the 107 to the 114 when I got my Ultra Limited in 2019. That was a plus, but I didn’t trade for that reason. If I was riding solo, the Road King would still be my “go to” bike.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comments. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
Are you a Harley sales guy or something? Because street glides are ok, but not that great.
Lol. No. No at all. Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. I actually own a 2018 Honda Goldwing. I did enjoy both the RG and SG. I enjoy all bikes (mostly) and try to relate what it feels like to ride any of the bikes I review. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
A great bike, the only cons are the computer screen is old and very cheap quality, the paint is weak and scratches very easily, inside the saddlebags is very small. Im 6 3" the leg room is brutal, you'll need highway pegs. Other than that this is a great touring bike. And thank you Honda for making the wing smaller, great idea. It was getting way too friggin big. More color choices would be great. Thanx.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comments. Yes, I wish they would update the headunit to show some relevant bike data and speed on the screen. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
I prefer not having a heel shifter. I like to move my feet around on the floor boards and the heel shifter locks your feet in one position. I do prefer the gauge layout on the Street Glide better, but I also think it needs a taller wind screen.
Welcome to the channel. Great comments. I'm not a fan of the heal/Toe shifter either. Please Subscribe (if you haven't already), Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
Until Harley releases a Stock Road Glide with LED everything, inverted front end, adjustable windshield, and water cooled engine Indian will get my money. Used to love the Road Glide till I rode a new Indian Challenger and there isn't any comparison.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comments. I hear you!!! Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
100% Agree SF! Many city municipalities PD Depts for years use this chassis, suspension and engine configuration. Over time riders seek auxiliary lighting, suspension, exhaust and HD OEM engine upgrade kits. Even the Specials get owner treatment. That’s the motorcycle world we live in. Woohoo! Good times.
Thanks Roadglide. Happy New Year!
This bike IS NOT a goldwing- It is a SKINNY TRANS ST1800 sport bike trying to identify as a goldwing.. This bike represents NOTHING of what a goldwing stands for- All you sport bike riders WILL love this bike!
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
The reverse mode is very handy, the forward is a gimmick.

A Duck Walking gear? Seriously?
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. I can see were you would think that. I'm totally against "Duck Walking" your bike. This mode isn't for pulling up at red lights when the traffic edges forward. It's for parking on inclines/declines and/or gravel/dirt. It's helps with the confidence to easily maneuver. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
How does the walking mode work moving up an incline or ramp?, does it have enough torque to manage an incline?
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. I can see were you would think that. Yes, for parking on inclines/declines and/or gravel/dirt. It's helps with the confidence to easily maneuver. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
Absolutely love the walking and reverse modes. Use them daily to finesse it into that perfect placement in my garage. Works every time. Love the DCT in every respect. Slow speeds is much different as there is no friction zone. I keep that all in mind when I enter situations I feel I can not navigate competently if the requiring space is limited. This is why Honda engineered the walking or reverse modes. Use it without hesitation. It’s not about being an agility course competitor. But maneuvering and handling your Gold Wing safely. Thanks for the video.
Thanks RoadGlide for the comment! Well said.
Great!
Thanks Vincent for the comment!
I have a 2003 Goldwing and I would love to have a new one with the DTC. Maybe some day. Only thing you covered that I don't care for is the keyless ignition. I have that on my Harley and I would prefer an actual key. Love the blue they had a few years ago and I really like the look of the white for 2024.
Welcome to the channel Craig. Thanks for the comment. I love the keyless but I hear what you are saying. I hope a new Gen Goldwing DCT comes your way!!! Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
For me, this bike is a game changer. After owning one since new, I can't see myself riding anything else, I swear. I would not touch HD, after this machine.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comments. Yes, I absolutely love the bike!!! Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John

Back in the days my instructor told me: make sure you have enough space around you to escape danger. Good advice is still follow after all these years. What i taught myself was: anything on 4 wheels is out there to kill me so i don't trust cars and try to avoid em as much as possible.Lanesplitting? Not for me, unless i have to. I try to come home every day in one piece because there is always another day to ride. Stay safe ya'll and keep the rubber side down.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comments. Yes, "There is always another day to ride".Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
There’s only a couple things that I’m not crazy about the gold wing no floorboards or forward foot placement I know it’s a fantastic motorcycle possibly the best made but I am hooked on the floorboards, the heal- toe shift and the forward riding position on Harley’s stretching out is everything to me if Honda ever finds a way to make that happen I’m all in and perhaps one day I will anyway
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comments. I'll have more new Harley videos as well fairly soon. Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
Floorboards and a heel/toe shifter are available as aftermarket items. I installed a heel/toe on my previous GW but I am not a fan of floorboards. Good Rides
Thank you I really opreciate the advice. I just got my first back a ninja 400 and I love it. I first took the MSF course before even buying the bike and I’m glad I did. It’s advice like this that has already prevented me from making small mistakes that lead to even worse outcomes. Thank you very much.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. I'm VERY GLAD you found the video helpful. Especially, with you just starting out! Please Subscribe, Like and Share with your friends www.youtube.com/@SoulFuel001 . Thanks, John
I was going about 20kph (12 mph?) practicing my counter steering when gravel happened and the bike decided I wasn’t supposed to ride it. Kevlar in the jeans saved my skin, armours saved my kneecap and hip from anything other than a bruised ego. Bike was fine, I was fine but that is 170% because of armour and gear. Man, just wear your gear. And for the love of all that is holy, drink non-alcoholic beer if you’re riding. No one cares what’s in your bottle.

100%. Absolutely great stuff here. T-CLOCS and ATGATT! You said it. Love it. Buy the best protection you can afford. Helmets are crucial component, and surprisingly many folks wear a improperly fitted helmet. Too large. Thank you for the refresher. Awesome! Ride safe and often.

All solid tips, all of which I’ve been practicing since teen yrs & I’m 61. I ride an 05 Superglide & a 14 GSX-R 750 which I ride on street & track. Everything you mentioned is spot on & will save your life. Some of the insane riding I see on UA-cam just for views is mind blowing & for me hard to watch as I have lost a couple riding buddies who just had no self control. I’ve never been down & hope to keep it that way, awesome vid & new sub here from Philadelphia, Pa, stay safe!
Awesome comments and good for you. An inspiration. Love to hear it. Welcome to the channel. Thanks, John

Thanks for your video. Totally agree with your love for the King! Love my '17 RK in Superior Blue, Billet Silver. I hope to do pipes and cam but have a DK aircleaner and breather. Added 14" apes, and a CC Rider seat with backrest that moves me down and back a little. Streamliner collection floorboards and pegs, and extended rear shift lever. lowered the rear with DK Nexgen shocks. Love my bright Eagle lights. Also hope to get Mototeks chrome Razor wheels and whitewalls for more of that 1950's classic look we love. I've subscribed and hope to see more soon and keep riding safe!
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comment. SOunds like an awesome bike! Post a pic if you like!!! Thanks, John
My 21 DCT has taken me to all 4 corners of the US, Lebanon, KS (Geo center of the lower 48) and all 48 states that are directly connected. This is my 4th wing since 1985. The DCT took five means to get comfortable with. But for the long distance rider, the Garmin Zumo XT is a must.

Still don,t know why you have to pay extra for all those things when you pay $30k for a machine. I have 3 harleys and other brands have those things (LED light etc) already on them! Harley marketing!

Soul Fuel, Thanks for taking the time to make this video. We've had the exact same bike, an '18 Tour DCT Airbag now for about 7 months now and love it to death. We purchased it with a mere 5,300 miles on it and it pretty much is flawless in all respects. The DCT to me, is just pure pleasure. I don't need to shift to feel like I'm controlling a motorcycle. My left hand and foot are totally relaxed and so am I on this bike. I would like to ask you a question though. I am forever on a quest to find the best scenario for communication WITHOUT WIND NOISE in our comm system. May I ask, since you're narration is for the most part, totally wind-noise-free, what head set brand and model are you using? Have you edited your video to lessen the wind noise or, is what we're hearing while you're riding, the way it was recorded? I thank you again for this. Scott
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for the comments. I wear a Shoei RF-1200 full face helmet. I am using a DJI Osmos Action 4 camera with a Lavalier mic plugged directly in to the camera. A chin guard can help. Also, with you and your wife make sure the mic's inside your helmets are not dropping down into the windstream. I hope this helps. Also, I can edit some out but then you lose the sound of the bike. I use a DJI Wireless mic off the bike and will be filming with my iphone 13 off the bike. @@SoulFuel001 Hey John, Thanks for getting back to me on this. Very much appreciated. Yep, when the helmets are on, we make sure the mic(s) are tucked up in between the mouth and the inside of the chin bar. The helmets we're using are marketed by Sena. They're actually called a Sena Outrush. They're decent helmets so far but, again, we're looking for something that maybe fits better and, does a better job of cutting back on the wind noise. We're aiming at a pair of Sidici's. Not sure yet. Thanks again. Scott
@@scottraines7419 Scott, Schuberth has a great reputation for very quiet helmets. Check these out on sale www.revzilla.com/schuberth-helmets?view_all=true&page=1&limit=96&facets%5B%5D=5444&facets%5B%5D=414&facets%5B%5D=15117&price_min=5&price_max=899&has_loyalty_discount=false&is_new=false&is_sale=false&is_made_in_usa=false&is_holiday=false&is_blemished=false&sort=best_seller&fit=&gclid%5B%5D=EAIaIQobChMIz4SF3LT44QIVTSOGCh3lWA09EAAYASAAEgIpdvD_BwE&gclid%5B%5D=CjwKCAiAmZGrBhAnEiwAo9qHiV7uHFIK4cY2ZCOHh2z8h6vkS8uwpdhIH8U98eTkxLOC3HSWwoZf8xoCtY8QAvD_BwE&gad_source=1&price=&has_video=false. Also, I know on my Shoei I wound up changing a couple things. 1. I got smaller cheek pads. I went from an XL to Large. That helped a lot. 2. I switched to the Sena HD speakers. Specific to the Goldwing, I make sure the bluetooth is turned OFF on both phones.
My 05 classic is a rad bike .. I would definitely buy another king..I don't like the classic only because the bags don't lock.. but I ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ this bike. I agree the road king lineup is the best Harley hands down
