    Looks good I've been doing this around my place the last two years , did the foundation, around my shed , just did a 8 ×10 paver patio with a fire pit and edged that too. One think i did discovere thought is periodically you gotta reset the no dig edging spikes they will start to come up , no big deal just gotta stay on top of them.

    Why would you put plastic under the rocks? When it rains, water is going to pool up and rot the fence.

  • @wango556

    It looks like to me that is plastic sheeting non permeable to water. Landscape fabric is not shiny like that. Plus if you look real close they’ve stapled up a little onto the fence. To me it looks like they are creating a drain for water to flow down towards the camera. Which is probably why he’s spraying it after to see if the fall under the rocks works My advice after 50 years of this stuff is that you really don’t want anything up against the fence. Rocks or tarp. I realize you are trying to catch the water off the fence but it will create more problems than it solves.

    Can i put my woven cover on top of existing mulch on my ground, then the rocks on top? Or should i remove all the mulch? Mulch is about 2 yeard old

    • @RickyB418
      @RickyB418 2 місяці тому

      You can do that as long as it’s not going to be high enough to touch your siding if you have siding. You don’t want your soil/landscaping above the foundation. Ideally you would remove the mulch but if you don’t, you should spray it first with a weed killer. Once you cover the mulch and soil it’ll be like a greenhouse under there.

    • @SC_RC1478
      @SC_RC1478 2 місяці тому

      Get the best landscape fabric they have it’s either 25 or 35 bucks. They sprayed it to get rid of the dust and make it look better. Hope this helps.

    @BBirke1337 2 місяці тому

    Doesn't make so much sense at the fence. This gravel on weed fabric style is an antipattern in the long term: the gravel gets dirty and weeds germinate above, root in the fabric. After a few years, it will be incredible hard to remove, probably leave rags in the soil. If plants are in the gravel, removing the fabric will damage the roots. Better plant something there without weed fabric, including dense ground cover. Organic mulch can be used the first years.

      We did this last year around our foundation. Really helps with not having the rain splash mud all over which cuts back on the moss and mold from growing. Definitely worth the effort for some added curb appeal. We actually painted out foundation too. Looks like a brand new house.
