Sound is normal i would say, nothing special but also far from painful. Just a normal engine sound. If you like some sound buy a i6 instead.

This exhaust is stock, also the engine is stock. Older cars just sound much much better then newer ones unfortunately.

This is a very early facelift, 2009 model year but produced in 2008.

This is the sport automatic transmission only available in facelift models, it is no dkg but shifts considerably faster.

@@drivingpassioncars They are actually not great on fuel, low 20mpg local driving and high 20's on a run, about the same as the 3.2 V6, doesn't bother me though, lovely thing to drive.

@@DerCem6789 2011 models with the N55 engine have the DCT, there were some rare 2009 N54 DCT's, most were equipped with the 6-speed ZF gearbox. When you compare the DCT (7 gears) with the ZF 8-speed the DCT is more sporty. It isn't so much in the shift times but the overal feel. Both are really good transmissions, remember that they were both constructed with a different character in mind. The DCT was originally built for the M3 as the ZF 8-speed was built to host a very varying range of models of all brands. The 8-speed is more fuel efficient and fits a wider range of consumer needs and that is the reason it is one of the most used automatic transmissions nowadays.

Hello, this is the 6-speed gearbox, top speed is reached in the 5th gear, the 6th gear is for a better fuel consumption. The Switchtronic gearbox does not shift automatically at the red line as the normal BMW models do.

@@INDIGOBLUE555 on the b3s it actually upshifts in manual mode if you reach redline, its very annoying and I have double shifted so often due to that

@@INDIGOBLUE555 only if you rev to lets say about 50-100 rpm lower than redline, as soon as you hit it it shifts up, it also doesnt hit the limiter but shifts instead

I can totally understand, the 1 series models with a 6 cylinder engine are the essence of BMW Driving Passion. Love these cars myself too, sorry for you to hear that it was demolished. What did you replace it with?

@@drivingpassioncars Thank you for the kind words. I eventually got it replaced with a 2013 135is! haha. It is also a convertible, 6 speed manual. I couldn't believe I found it. But the 135i is a very good car. I didn't know this about the car, but awhen I got impacted from the rear, a sensor detected the hit and automatically shut off the engine, which turned off the fuel pump. The point of impact on the frame bent nearly 90 degrees, but held. It was a large SUV that hit me from behind (driver was heads down on her cell phone). The fuel tank did not rupture. And the rear head rests popped up in the event of a rollover. The 135i is a great vehicle. Fun to drive and it will do its best to keep you safe. Stay safe!

N63 is the twin turbo 4.4l engine. E63/E64 is the Coupé or Convertible model of the 6 series. The successor which has the N63 engine is the F12/F13 model.
