    I ran into this issue because I spend almost as much on batteries as on gas (4 double-A batteries a week, $20/month). My gas bill hovers around ~ $ $30, but keep in mind that gas usage includes the furnace and cooking stove. This is absolutely a no-brainer, both financially and practically. Thanks for the straightforward and adaptable information!

    I’ve owned the 2017, 2020, and 2021 Bolt EVs and currently drive a 2023 model. Exploring destinations like Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Kings Canyon National Park, Highway 1 along the Pacific Ocean, and Redwood National Park has been incredibly enjoyable with the Bolt EV. Its power, handling, and regenerative braking make it perfect for both uphill climbs and downhill drives. I also own a 2024 Toyota bZ4X, but it’s not as fun to drive compared to the Bolt EV. I have been driving EVs for 10 years by the way. Bolt EVs are exceptionally efficient and reliable, though the seats in the 2017-2021 models weren’t very comfortable for me. If you’re considering one, I’d highly recommend a good used Bolt EV Premier for its added safety features.

    I just read the manual to verify and I also have a CX-5 turbo. It says verbatim; - Be sure the vehicle is on a level surface. - Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature. - Turn it off and wait at least 5 minutes for the oil to return to the oil pan. - Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, and reinsert it fully. - Pull it out again and examine the level. - The level is normal if it is between the MIN and MAX marks. - If it is near or below MIN, add enough oil to bring the level to MAX.

  • @xdejablu3x
    @xdejablu3x 10 днів тому

    Does the manual say to warm up the vehicle before you check the oil level? Fluid expands when it heats up and lots of car manuals say the engine needs to be running and then shut off for a few minutes to cool down to a certain temp. Then you would measure your oil.

    Changed this gasket twice, first one unknown brand and had a small weep from the lower edge, ill fitting gasket. Replaced with an Elring brand gasket that was better quality and added some blue hylomar gasket sealant in the recess where the gasket sits. So far no leaks have returned.

    Thank you for your warning; I despise unscrupulous merchants like the one you mentioned @04:07 in your video. However, a law called the Fair Credit Billing Act in the United States was enacted in 1974. Generally, it protects consumers against incidents like the one with your purchase of the damaged item. Buyers should be aware that there is a difference in how one pays for goods and services. Should you choose to pay in cash, by check, or by debit card (using one's PIN), you are at the total mercy of the merchant (also dependent upon state/local laws) should the item(s) you buy turn(s) out to be Lemon, not what was promised, or is not delivered as previously agreed by contract. In fact, did you know that certain receipts are considered "contracts" between you and the merchant? Especially if a return/refund policy is printed on the receipt. However, if bought with a credit card, and you follow the stipulations outlined on the back of your statement, you may not be obligated to pay for any or all of the purchased item(s) provided that you attempt "in good faith" to resolve the issue with the merchant. You must check other boxes to ensure your right to a refund or replacement, so read your credit card statement carefully. In short, if you have yet to have previous assurance when dealing with a new merchant, especially a high-dollar item, always pay by credit card.

    We've had a 2023 EUV for a few months here, and just added a 2020 EV to our household, and I need to get used to the differences. Only problem I've had with L mode is it doesn't like to go very fast, we picked it up in the KCMO area, and the freeways over there are 70MPH, and it really didn't want to go that fast in L, but I expect it'll be fine for me doing deliveries as that's all 25 to 40MPH driving. Oh, and one pedal is easy to use if'n you're experienced with stick, it's not quite the same, but the learning curve from engine braking to one pedal driving is very small.

    It would be funnier if you named it White Thunder. First actual EV since Chevy Spark EV

      @that_jamesguy mine shattered before coming apart. They really thoroughly covered them inside & out with some kind of black super glue stuff

      Front axle pinch bolts. Always: 1. Torque the axle 2. Compress the forks to center the forks on the axle 3. Torque the pinch bolts

    Great reasoning about simply buying and using a trailer with whatever vehicle you have, rather than buying a big truck and then struggling with the limited bed space and the extreme height of the truck bed. I'm considering buying a trailer hitch for my honda accord and picking up one of these trailers for most of my hauling needs.

    I agree with everything. I test drove a '18 Leaf, then a few weeks later a '17 Bolt and a '22 Bolt EV, and the same day sealed the deal on the '22. That was a month ago, and this is now our workhorse. Mostly it's just me or my wife, sometimes with a kid for a school run, but we're comfortably fitted all four of us in with four recyclable bags of shopping in the trunk. Our old workhorse was a 2010 Honda Odyssey minivan, and I had an '07 Mazda 3 as an alternate, which we traded in for a tiny $700 discount on the Bolt. My wife refused to drive or most times ride in the Mazda except in dire need, it was noisy and she had a knack of stalling it one Summer which put her off. We still have the Honda as our second vehicle, but it only gets a run once a week. You didn't mention how quiet it is, maybe because you're had an EV before, but they had to add a spaceship sound to it at lower speeds to alert pedestrians. If my wife is asleep and I want to go for an early drive I can take this out and come back, and not wake her. If they just put faster charging in this it would be all the car most people need, but I think they deliberately kept it low or nobody would be buying their Equinox and Blazer EVs. We have solar panels, and grid electricity costs 10c all day and night for us, so it's very cheap to run at 4 miles/kWh on average. I reckon I'll get that a lot higher in warmer weather. In comparison our van gets 19 mph around town on a good day.
