I liked your Skyrim playthrough on legendary so I had to watch this video too!

Get a follower. Get the staff of worms and a decent death thrall. Get a horse and fight from horseback out in the open w bandits, bears, etc. Get the Daedric armor at knifepoint ridge asap. Get Gogh!! Get the staff of conjure storm atronach from the midden forge. Then you got decent armor, some leveling under your belt, two fighting followers and a storm atronach at your fingertips. If you do all that before bleak falls barrow, it’s gonna be way easier!

As a person who has started the legendary journey on vanilla (just finished the embassy quest). It is HELL. I also am playing with no magic, light armor only, no shields, and NO sneak bow.

I agree, on legendary mode, I started utilizing my followers more, strategized more, used magic more to avoid getting one-hit by a sword wielding bandit.

Legendary is my standard mode these days (My last dozen or more characters, most of whom I manage to get to around level 40 or more before getting bored). It's definitely much harder at the outset, but I find the difficulty is kind of necessary by the time I've levelled up my crafting skills, as at that point I can enhance myself (and a companion) to 'curbstomp' levels otherwise. Basically, upper mid to late game is deathly dull without legendary difficulty, and the earlier levels are actually challenging. What I've been doing to keep things interesting for the last ten or so characters is to use console commands (advskill *skillname)* and get it to 100, unlocking the best perks (I use ordinator perk mod BTW). The most fun (and overpowered) is probably sneak though, as it grants you a power to teleport behind enemies and instantly attack them. Combined with some one handed damage and sneak damage buffs and you can one-shot pretty much anything, but it still requires you to be somewhat careful as you'll still need to get closer than you would normally with bow-sneak style.

On legendary, ı don't leave the cave with the bear without getting my one handed and sneak skills to a 100 by making Hadvar my lab rat. Then, I get railed because my stuff is shit and the enemies are leveled up. And it's way harder. Getting to fight outlaws/highwaymans or draugr scourges out the bat each for like half an hour. This is the peak experience.

Fun fact: swing speed is determined by your left hands weapon, so if you’re doing one handed you should dual wield a dagger in your left and a mace in your right so you can swing the mace as fast as a dagger

You really did not put yourself at an advantage really. See, i have done and know people who do legendary, no crafting, no glitching playthroughs and you want to delay the main questline as much as possible until you have better kit. You can completely trivialize combat without killing much in this game, so work smarter not harder! You can also learn to dodge a lot of enemies in this game and getting quick reflex (it's a lvl30 block skill) is probably the best qol perk you can get for playing a warrior on legendary difficulty, meaning even if you are under kitted you can still kill things like giants.

You actually makes it look easier that it actually did. Legendary difficulty is an absolute menace, you get punished really hard especially while fighting creature. I think for new to intermediate player, the best is adept, it gives you some hard enemies, but you get to enjoy the world and feels the combat better than any other difficulty, ofc there's some kiting, but not that much

I once avoided Bleakfalls Barrow for an entire playthrough and only went in as a level 46 crossbowman. It was pretty sweet.

Skyrim gets very easy even on master once you progress enough on gear and enchants. Legendary difficulty is very doable if you adjust playstyle, especialy early-mid game.

I remember my first playthrough just annihilating everything with a 2 handed hammer on novice, now I'm doing a mage legendary playthrough and it is so hard early game

Impressive, now do the troll on the way to High Hrothgar. Trolls are insane on this difficulty and they freaking regenerate.

Man I play legendary at level 257 and the dragon is the only one that gives me a decent fight but I have max out everything at 100 skills, I also have every outfit I got from the quest and some I made on and that's how you play on legendary with no worries. To put on every outfit go to white run and get locked up with all the stuff you want to put on, now escape in the tunnels to where the chest at that have all your stuff in it, now get your stuff and put on a different outfit on then what you had on when arrested, now escape again and go back to jail and this time serve your time and then you should have both outfits on and you can put on as many as you like, darderic armor ebony mail armor, and what ever else you got and that's how you play on legendary with no diff and on God mode it's really fun why collect all that gear and not wear all at once don't forget to put on all the masks except for the wood one it doesn't do anything for you

I glitched all my armor and weapons so go around 1 or 2 tapping everything on legendary with health magic and stamina in the thousands. I also can carry 13k weight lol Restoration potions and Enchanting potions. Once you max your enchanting and have made 9,000% smithing items the game is a joke.

or you simply grind alchemy, enchanting and smithing to the max safely in the cities while training up archery and light armor for money and sneak by stalking guards at night. And then when you have maxed out gear and stats you emerge out of the cities to one shot everything in sight (well, almost), on legendary you'd have a much tougher time.

In fact it will NOT change how you play, instead it will push you into the most effective play style even harder - stealth archer.

Everytime I play Skyrim I go in legendary difficulty, with no companions. That’s the only way I like playing skyrim. The worst part of legendary is getting instant killed because an enemy has started a melee attack and the game calculates that it would kill you if it hits. So the game puts you in an animation so you instant die. Every 5-10 hits. One-hand sword heavy attack cancels are so powerful you can’t get back to normal difficulty once you learned it. But the only ways of killing stronger enemies end up being flame spam from high up or stealth archer early, and giga potions/enchants later on. Oh, and companions/summons but I don’t like using them. They take 1/3 the damage and deal 4x more damage.

Wear heavy and light armor to level faster when you do take hits but only pick perks of your choice

You get a similar feel if you play games and only allow yourself a single life. You really start just existing as your character after a while.

Did this on a pure mage no mods playthrough and went into a cave near winterhold at level 6 and it spawned like 5 frost trolls in a small enclosed space and they were all at the exit 😂

Legendary has become the only way I play this game... I don't play this game to finish it.. or for the story... I play it to escape reality.

I’d play Legendary if it wasn’t just “enemies do more damage, you do less”. On Legendary, enemies should be smarter and use more tools, not become tanks while we become wet paper bags.

The game is meant to be absurd on the highest difficulty. It is not enjoyable on purpose. It requires tedious prepation/approaches for this reason. However, wannabe pro singleplayer gamers have created the myth that this is some sort of super hard mode and that you need to be a mastermind to play this or you're bad

Played Skyrim on hardcore legendary with minimal intrusive modding and my god the game was hell. So many dragon priest fights just to get the rng of them not one shotting lol

I've never started the game on legendary but increased the difficulty to legendary as I progressed. If you're a high level player playing on legendary is a necessity otherwise the game becomes too easy.

Yeah no, I like strategising generally, but the fact you deal so little damage on legendary is incredibly boring to me, I don't have that much time to waste

Easy setup. Tutorial. Get money. Go to riften. Purchase Mercurio. Win. Plus summons do regular damage so I'd go with that. Dremora lord. Win win with 2 dremora lords and mercurio

This approach is inherently flawed. In legendary difficult, you should put off unlocking dragons as long as possible. I tend to complete all of the easier whiterun and the falkreath quest, ESPECIALLY the goldenhill plantation quest, before advancing forward This helps boost skills to a less frustrating level Exploiting the fandael training and keeping him as a follower is also key

I’ve played about 4-500 hours on legendary, and there is one thing which works (mostly) one build: surprisingly not stealth archery, stealth archery simply doesn’t deal enough damage (it works well as a second resort, just know it will be a LOT of arrows to kill) the build that works is sneak+double dagger power attacks. Your damage at ebony gear is in the thousands (in reality about 5-600 after the legendary reduction), 1-shotting most enemies. Just don’t get detected- ever.

I tried playing on legendary once, got bored really fast. Mods to unlevel the world and make combat less tedious but still deadly is the best way to play in my opinion. Good video

i play master on Blade and Blunt mod, which increases the multipliers of received and dealt damage, so that the game is as difficult as vanilla legendary but fights are way faster. What i like most of playing it on "hard" is that you will start noticing and exploiting enemies weaknesses and particularities, othar than just swinging through everything with ease. Frostbite spiders are weak against fire, so burn them. Have a silver weapon ready in case of undead. Electricity is good against ghosts and mages. damage stamina/magicka poisons become essential. that and much more! The game is just better on harder difficulties

tbh the way to compensate for Legendary is to play a stealth archer

Legendary difficulty forces you to properly invest in gearing up you're followers and depending on what class you pick to support you and with survival difficulty add you'll never be careless again example support roles if you're a archer 🏹 or mage or wizard you'll want a tank build follower stuff like that

You don’t have to kill the spider, you can run past it and free the npc. Also i’d suggest using frost against any enemy with a melee weapon, to slow them down and make sure they can’t power attack.

Nah... Difficulty won't erase the enchance buff exploit, so no... It won't change how I play 😂

I've been playing on legendary for a little now, admitily sometimes when I die I just type in to consult Killall, just so the enemies don't get the last laugh. But a fun way to play is to stack temp/quest followers and not even try to fight/fight opertunistically

Starting a game on legendary with survival mode is the true Skyrim experience. But it forces you to level your skills and smithing and weapons fast if you aren’t going to abuse alchemy.

now start on legendary difficulty in survival mode, and start on solestiem using the live another life mod.
