I would say it's mostly Sony fault for allowing this to happen not Capcom since they don't have control over Sony PlayStation you know. It's good that Dino Crisis came back which is a possibility for a future Dino Crisis remake but it's disappointing that Sony just decided to allowed the original Dino Crisis to be only available on PS Plus subscription and no PSN trophies being added as well. Personal to me I would rather just emulate Dino Crisis instead of playing it on PS4 or on PS5. Disappointed indeed but it is what it is.

I feel what you are going through man. 100% even down to the more serious topic. I have spent a the good half of the month listening to boths sides talk to one another through debates. I was hungry for knowledge and I found it. A good majority of conservatives had very good talking points. If you want reassurance listen to them. Some of them have so much knowledge. People from all walks off life. We came together to make the best decision. Most of the dems and liberals we interacted with didn't really have good points to bring up. It was mostly things that were told to them by the media. This is after my liberal once friends drove me out of their friend group. I needed to know truly what was what. I love: VI, VII, IX, X. I like: VIII, X-2, XII. I don't like: XIII series, XV, XVI, FFVII Remake/Rebirth. So Final Fantasy is basically dead to me too. I never played the MMORPGs. I have some small replies to things you said. Your complaint that XII "was supposed to be a mobile game" isn't valid IMO because it's an ad-hominem, it ended up being a very large and fleshed out game compared the other entries in the series. It's flawed but it has some very strong points, like the script and writing (not the truncated story, though). Your complaint about X-2 isn't valid either IMO because Tidus doesn't appear anywhere in X-2, and there is a very deep thematic/world building reason why Shuyin looks like Tidus, that's actually very relevant to Yuna's story and character arc throughout the game. I think the writing in that game is as good as the story of X, I consider it a worthy lighthearted sequel to the overall grim and sad story of X.

I feel the same. The fantasy is just gone somehow. All the characters are just super pretty humans fighting for some tech kingdom or so. 12 was the beginning and as a big final fantasy fan, it broke my heart, that I played 13 for only an hour before I lost interest, as well as 15. I am currently trying on 16, but the limited action gameplay is just so... Mind numbing somehow. The story presentation is quite impressive though.

I'd argue that no game needs a remaster. If people liked Call of Duty 4. Then go play Call of Duty 4 the way the developers intended. Remakes like the Resident Evil 1, 2 & 3 are different because the gameplay was dictated by the hardware limitations back then.

I play all genres AAA/AA and Indies either great or just as bad as AAA for trends/nostalgia inspired design I'm so bored of so yes I hate all budget ranges if their mechanics aren't exciting enough, so I don't play 1 game/genre only and complain so to me that right there shuts up anyone saying oh it's only 1 game type gamers, no I'm a collector/every genre type and I hate 9th gen. Even Red Steel 2 a great motion control game by Ubisoft I want in VR. A great shooter/hack n slash with better controls then Skyward Sword and the innovation that made me so impressed is better than many VR games, Half Life Alyx is different though in comparison and I do think mechanically works besides it's Half Life atmosphere and such, Red Steel 2 sold bad but was mechanically as good as the Wii got of it's limits of motion/artstyles to suit it and nope. Console gimmicks are eh the things that get me interested in consoles, the OS and folders suck I hate it on Xbox One carrying over what Series S/X offers, PS5/Switch/Xbox have groups, Xbox started, Xbox One also started the quiet console PS5 now has that PS4 doesn't. Wishlist is PS5 only, yet Xbox One still has it. The games 1st/3rd party don't appeal to me and Indies vary of good ideas to just as bland as AAA/AA do of mechanical/level design ideas I buy games for as well games not visuals/story take I can play. I play games for gameplay depth in any genre. When playing PS3/360/Wii and older shooters I go huh interesting mechanics, fair worlds/settings, nowadays I go wow MP, safe worlds/settings and we have to deal with cosmetics/other focus for safe games. I may seek campaigns more but even still, many had great ideas even if not the best multiplayer as others out there the mechanics likely still appeared in them just for different maps. But map gimmicks would help more too then 'grounded' boring ones, it's like unless your a popular game like a Halo just make a generic WW1/2 or contemporary setting shooter with generic multiplayer ideas/maps because people wil ltry anything or be comfortable anyways so why bother making them. XD 5-7th gen had a lot of competition for platformers, racing, shooters but the differences in them make me go this is fine, they are going after Gears/Halo/COD or Wolfenstein (if alt history) but they don't fell shallow despite being competitors of the past and forgot. Nowadays the competition is lazier in competing to 'stand out' they just copy paste or fit a fine line. It's why Bright Memory Infinite or Immortals of Aveum fit a line of either mechanics or setting that were exciting to me that's it for shooters, 2 games. Even the Donkey Kong clone or the safe shooter I forget the name of at Opening Night Live or Future Gaming made me go whelp that's great highlights or why to hate 9th gen right there. For me PS4/Xbox One was very limited titles I'd keep a console for. Games like Knack, Killzone Shadowfall, Gravity Rush, Driverclub, for the Xbox One side, Rare Replay, ReCore, Sunset Overdrive, the Forza Motrosport 5-7 that I think suck but are still better then Forza Motorsport 8/Series S?X is. Even Ride 5 has split screen besides being a Ride 4 engine game just like Ride 2 was Ride 1 format besides Forza Motorsport 6 style cutscenes yet Ride 4 also had Forza Motorsport 1 & 2 region system idea expanded on. Talk about the AA one doing something old school of their competitors and bringing that back in a way. Then again Milestone did always do great mechanically compelling racing games, sigh Grid 2008/Forza Motorsport 3 being good games but dumbing down Milestone' licensed game but still cool RPG/rewind system originator (as far as I know at least it is the earliest of a rewind system in a racing game). PS3 or 360 and under I'd say sure I didn't experience a lot of them but nowadays collecting I go wow there is so much to play on them because their ideas alone are more exciting. Gameplay is just so dull in modern games I get bored or make up ideas for them because that's what modern games does for me. Inspire me to not play them and seek ideas to make them better while retro games inspire me but also because I research them or want to/do play them. XD Back Compat is for gamers to shut us up, remasters are for those wanting the best or newcomer casuals that hear about it in the news and don't understand BC is a thing because new shiny product/new chance to hear about it if they didn't hear about it prior. Also Lego Horizon as an example of don't worry we have the younger rating version of the teen/adult IP because Ratchet/Sackboy don't sell so why not milk the IP further right for all ages. Talk about audiences being terrible and a company milking an IP further. Even besides the yes I can buy it for $14 standard not just PS hits copy of Horizon even besides the 2021 Play At Home complete edition even though already own the standard edition on disk. I don't even like the game. I play 20 hours went the story/world is great but the gameplay is so boring of world design I don't care for, it tries and 'fits the world' but it's not mechanically fun to play. Also the cauldrons I thought might mix things up weren't fun either so if your linear game design also sucks then yeah your game just straight up sucks. Uncharted to me had the pacing of mechanics of puzzles/gunplay/platforming besides being linear. Last of Us didn't do it for me as a story driven particular way horror game. God of War didn't do gameplay I cared for it was too Tomb Raider 2013+ like. I didn't mind 2013 but to me it felt like that approach then an open world but that mixed with Ryse Son of Rome or Hellblade camera system I didn't like. Seeing as I came up with more modes for Foamstars with Foam and the surfboard as core elements and more then the '2 modes they offer' (I go clean up foam mode, building contest, surfboard related modes, chemicals/traps to mix with the foam or power ups, that was during the first few trailers too, inspiration because the game is so bland and empty feeling to me I come up with my own ideas, Biomutant you could have an abilities trait system, it has a gas immunity system to put points into or even from the character creator, swimming being slower then the Jet Ski but you can do it then the Jet Ski reward quest, it's not a pushing things aside it's a still ability to do things option for players I'm coming up with, same with flight then a glider from a merchant cough like BOTW did for Korok benefits or Beedle, or digging or other things, like Sims can have traits, other games have abilities, BOTW/Zelda games in general have items so why do games especially open worlds have just guns/fists/not much ability interactions with the generic recreation locations. They don't have to be voxel/destructive or something (even just treasure to dig up would be fine even) but like come on they are so boring and static (remember AC Unity had houses to go in, they weren't much but they still feel more alive then just painting on building insides XD just saying) to play in. Using the ice block or statis in BOTW or even shrines or even past Zelda games or Pitfall Lost Expedition being an explorer metroid prime 1 like inspired metroidvania using a canteen up and down to drink or fill up, the ice picks for spinning combat or climbing, that level of multiple purposes was fun, TNT, slingshot, shield for spiked walls, a raft, it's the little details and how the items are used). They aren't the greatest ideas but they use them in GAME mindset related ways, they aren't that safe of wow a generic human does tasks for people and has no abilities of note, they don't have to be a superhero/human but they could be you know more Zelda/Ratchet gadgets like expansive or good platforming moves, or Metroid combat/corridor opening opportunities for multi-purpose things or whatever. Like to me that's a start besides modes or other compelling ideas. I thought the SW Outlaws reputation system seemed bland, it was better by release once saw more of it's depth but the fact I had more ideas for it says a lot. Space Marine 2 I enjoyed but did wonder huh why no prep of the stuff from Operations mode, but it went the SM1 approach of the different factions and the weapons you pick up. I guess the abilities don't need to be shown in the campaign but to me it would have been nice prep to showcase them then just jumping in and out of which one you want in Operations mode. It works separating each modes sure but it did cross my mind. If Splatoon can offer fair modes, but still ink to reload, stealth, jump and more and 2's grapple move wasn't used in the most amazing ways but the 1 level I got stuck on to use it really well for or you'd end your gameplay experience there. Like the level design to me in 2 I played in 2024, not 2017 or older and I went wow, this is really fun. Because it's so well designed, they may be obstacle courses. But like a Spyro 1 of a few supercharges, super flame fairies and other factors I was having fun with the simple mechanics. I don't get that in many games. Pikmin 4's changes were enough from go the Ice Pikmin is fun the Oatchi parts were ok but 5 day wait for him to grow up is padding and the tweaks to upgrades are ok or annoying to wait for and modernise the game while the gyro sucks compared to 1-3's gyro offerings by how restrictive it is let alone the get the onion first padding I was not into and had to check how 3 even functioned I was so confused you needed onions so much more to pad things then loose ones or flowers or the expansion methods. So dumb.

console gaming has been getting more and more irrelevant since PC gaming rose to prominence. the only thing making consoles relevant were exclusive, and thats becoming less and less of a thing. what they should do is make programs for PC that accurately simulate the console experience, with full controller support, and just port and release all games to PC. (Mac and Linux support aswell for variety, to avoid OS monopoly) this would allow gamers to avoid having to buy three gaming consoles every generation in order to play all the games they might be interested in while preserving the console experience as much as possible. plus it would make emulation largely unnecessary if they port older games to PC, which would probably also limit piracy as fewer people will be emulating, which many feel is so similar to piracy that by not emulating as much, they also would not pirate as much because they wouldnt be involved in such a scene as much. it wouldnt eliminate it, as piracy is a financial and service issue, but ti would help.
