Here is a video of my new-ish DIY drum/thickness sander for luthier work! It was a breeze to build, and only took a couple of days. It works great for now until I can afford to purchase a commercial sander. And for only about $200 bucks in materials... you can't beat it!

    Most interesting. Here in England floats like that large one would be used for pike baits. A small sail could be added to make a long range drifter float.

    CA glue is not so good for joining porous material like cork so you would be better off with a glue with more gap filling properties. Some polyurethane glue would probably work well.

    I just started making bobbers from wine corks with my daughter. I told her she should make some for both her grandfathers for Father's Day and she's SUPER exited about the idea. Especially since she can personalize them.

    Nice; for threading, I found an archery serving tool works really well (used to add serving to a bow string). Finish off with the serving knot too, makes it quite neat.

      That is a great idea! and if i am really making a "keeper" and not rushing, I will use better knots to tie off the thread. This is a fast and dirty way to get them in the water!! LOL
