      @The2AExperiment 2 дні тому

      @@dt7037 well, they are very different firearms, in almost every way, from weight, ergos, trigger, recoil impulse, and price, but I will argue that in overall shootability and end results, they are comparable. I actually shoot the ported M&P better, but it has a lot to do with ergos, for me. It's Shannon's favorite gun, and she loves the XC, so I guess that says something. But, the XC has a really great trigger and return to zero, and it feels completely different to shoot than the Ported M&P. But, in the end the M&P works better for me and gives me similar results, and I can't imagine how great it could be if I dumped an additional $3000 into it. That's my take, as of writing this response. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

      @@jaspersweeney4086 we really appreciate the kind words. We plan on doing a full review of the P226 X-Five in the near future, but like talking guns. Not sure how you like yours, but I was not sold on the X-Five at first, as it costs $500 more than the optic ready P226 Legion I was actually at the store to buy. My wife wanted it though, so happy wife, happy life. It only took putting the first two shots in the same hole at 10 yards to realize what a stellar firearm it is. So I'm glad she wanted it. Over the last year it became my favorite pistol, and having the ability to adjust the trigger 4 ways really allowed us to dial it in to perfection. In short, we and everyone who shoots it, loves it. I hoped to use it in some competition this year, but we only recently picked up a holster that works with it. Maybe next year. That being said, we may have a new favorite pistol, the DWX Optic ready. We just posted two videos about it and I talk about the P226 X-Five a little in the the first video. We still have to run it through its paces, but so far, the DWX seems like a winner...other than the horrible Optic ready support. As to optics for the X-Five, we are running a 3MOA Sig Romeo1 Pro. It direct mounts to the slide and the built in sight notch cowitnesses to the front fiber optic. The glass is large, and pretty clear, although you can get a reflection in certain lighting conditions. Overall, it's a really nice and clean setup. They even sell a rear sight that mounts behind the optic cut now, so that's pretty cool too. So what do you think of yours? I feel most people who have reviewed it don't give it the respect it deserves, but firearms is a highly subjective subject. Let us know what you think. Thanks again for the kind words and for talking about guns with me.

      @The2AExperiment Yeah I like it too I watched alot of reviews on it prior to the purchase being that its on the expensive side. one thing I was im still surprised about was the weight of it, Even after owning it for a while hahaha. If I run out of ammo im sure throwing the pistol will do some damage lol. im looking at a vector optics frenzy Gen 2 or a Romeo x for the red dot just worried compatibly being the DDP foot print. Yeah il make sure to check out the other video and look forward to more keep up the good work. thanks

      @@jaspersweeney4086 glad you like your X-Five too. I don't know about the Frenzy, but the X-Five is cut for delta point, so the XPro will fit. It's just a bit of a small window. Ironically, they make a closed emitter version of the XPro now. That's what I get for running out and buying the XPro when it first came out. Once you make your decision, let us know what you think.

      @The2AExperiment 3 дні тому

      @@sugarbear573 this was a follow-up video after getting the plate and running into issues. As we said in our inital video, we really like this gun, and we may even pick up a non optic ready version too, and send it off to be cut. Saves a lot of money and headaches. The worst part is, I can't definitively say whether it is the plate or the sight that caused the issue, so I am kind of stuck with it the way it is. Either way, not having plates or customer support to assist with simple questions regarding sight notches, or when plates will be available is a pretty bad way to launch an optic ready firearm that many people have been waiting for. Hopefully, they get more plates in stock soon for others who pick this thing up. It would also be nice if other companies started making plates for it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

      @@LVbibby thanks. It wasn't the worst thing I've had happen with a new firearm, but it's disappointing. We really like this gun, and as my wife said in our initial shots video, she wants her own, so we will probably get the much less expensive non optic ready and send it off to be direct milled. I guess this is the sort of thing that happens when one company buys up a few smaller ones. Like you said, hopefully, they get their act together. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • @The2AExperiment
      @The2AExperiment 4 дні тому

      @@joshmartin7558 believe me, if I had known this was going to turn into a fiasco, I would have bought the non optic ready version and sent it off to be direct milled. The fact that the factory optic cut tacks on an additional $500 makes it sting all the more. The sad thing is, a lot of companies are doing this sort of thing. Like we said in our first shots video, these guns are not optic ready, they are optic capable. Oh well, I own it now, and the headaches are behind me, so now I can enjoy the gun again. @@theoverzealouscollector8198 man! $125! I feel duped. Same thing with my Sig P320 Legion and P226 X-Five. You lose the rear sight, but the direct mount Romeo 1Pro dots have a sight notch to cowitness to the front sight, so could be worse. The rear sight on this DWX is pretty decent too, so it sucks to lose it. The FN 509s and Springfield Echelons seem to be the only two fully optic ready guns that can handle just about any optic and still give you cowitnessable sight. @@m0b00st I feel your pain, which is why I wanted to get the video out ASAP. I just received my Dan Wesson Plate and put it on today (Docter/Vortex) and I used a 10-8 Performance Glock standard height rear sight and it seems to work, but it was super tight and really had to ram it in. I think it may have actually spread the rear sight notch because the Vortex venom will not fit, and neither does the Sight mark Mil Spec, which are both listed as compatible on the CZ website, and both use this footprint. I even hammerd on them but I could not get them to sit down in the gap. It was too tight. I ended up useing a Cyelee Cobra X Pro, which is a better dot anyway, but now there is a slight gap. Maybe the plate was out of speck, but I doubt it. It may be better to get the Impact Machine Plate and run an optic with a rear sight built in. Again, the Cyelee Cobra has this, but just barely. it was an unnecessary pain in the ass, and I am still not sure the rear sight I am using is correct, or that it really is a Glock dovetail. It does cowitness to the front when using the Cyelee, so that's good. It'll all be in the follow-up video and I'll pass on anything I find out along the way. Thanks for stopping by and good luck.

I tried measuring it and it is somewhere around .180 - .200. I don't have calipers to get an exact measurement. Also, the sight notch on the plate doesn't specify the type of sight that you have to use or the width of the dovetail. They don't make it easy for the average person to put it all together. There doesn't seem to be a perfect pistol on the market. Either it's not optics ready, and if it is, you can't get plates, or you can't direct-mount the optic that you actually want to use and end up with a skyscraper for an optic. Then they give you iron sights that become useless once you put an optic on it. Then there's the issue with finding a holster for it.. then there's the issue of finding a holster for it that will accept the light and or dot you want to use.. I have no idea why firearms manufacturers don't make holsters for each model of handgun they make.. it would eliminate a problem for the consumer (excuse me "end user" is the cool term in the tactical world) and it would make them extra $ selling holsters.

      It's true, nearly every firearm has some drawback or goofy issue, some worse than others. I used to avoid firearms that required a bunch of nonsense, but this year has been a rollercoaster of buying holsters, optic plates, add on sights, recoil springs and guide rods, and of course, compensators. Best review on this gun out there. I have been looking at this one for a while. Cheapest I have found is $715. I'm sure the aesthetics is the largest selling point (perhaps the prettiest pistol on the market IMO) aside from the ranting and raving about the trigger. I will argue that a trigger that good really isn't totally necessary when using a defense pistol and I'm not a competition shooter. I would definitely get the Holosun SCS ($350) which is made for this model not requiring a plate but then you're at 1K before the light and holster. I can get a 5 inch M&P 2.0 - with an M2.0 Trigger - AND night sights for $598. Do you think the Walther is that much better than the M&P? What would you do if you had these choices?

    • @The2AExperiment
      @The2AExperiment 16 днів тому

      @@Bullets4TheDevil Thank you for the kind words. We just give our honest thoughts on a firearm. As to your question, I believe the M&P 2.0 is the best out of the box, bang for the buck, firearm on the market. We own several, and Shannon and I both used to carry them. The PDP Pro is a great gun, but for pure value, durability, shootability, you cannot beat the M&P. The only reason I don't carry an M&P 2.0 compact anymore is because it was tearing up my skin with that amazing grip texture. I had a perpetual red spot on my stomach from it. There are many great choices out there to fit any need and budget. I always recommend shooting a firearm before you buy it, to see how it works for you, test them side by side, if possible. • @The2AExperiment
      @The2AExperiment 16 днів тому

      @@Bullets4TheDevil it really all depends on what is important to you and what you are using the firearm for. We have other guiderods and springs for our PDP Pro SD, as well as the Harrington Comp. That makes the gun really expensive and it really doesn't serve a role. It's too big to carry, it's not a better shooter than our metal competitor, which we got for $800, or our Sig Legion, it's not as good of a suppressor host as our Beretta APXs, etc., so for us, it's just an expensive range toy with an outstanding trigger. To me the best guns require the least amount of monkeying with them. That's why we don't prefer Glocks. Not a fan out of the box, but they are great, once you get them tricked out with an Afterburner, a new trigger, and some stippling. So, they are awesome if you want to spend the money. We do that kind of stuff here and there, but it's really not our thing. I don't want to have make the gun great, I want the gun to be great when I pull it out of the box. Anything I do to a gun should be because I feel like doing it, not because I feel like I have to. I guess I'll finish with this. Walther is on the right track, but they still have a way to go before they offer a complete firearm that appeals to me as a carry or competition gun, especially at the price they come in at. We like the PDP, but we don't love it, as an out of the box option. They do have the PDP professional, for law enforcement, and that sounds like a great option, but us plebs can't get them. Anyway, that's my take, and it's only one opinion amongst many. Thanks again for the comment.

I did grab the palm swell from lok and the long slide kit and yesterday a lady practicing for her concealed carry test tried mine out and one shot and she was floored. Only way she described it was like butter!!! Even the slow motion on my channel will show you it shoots with very little muzzle climb. @The2AExperiment 18 днів тому

      Thanks for the kind words, and I am sorry to hear you miss your wife. I don't know what I would do without Shannon. I like your analogy about a firearm being like a meal; however, there are some meals, that no matter how much seasoning you use, they will never be something you like, i.e., anything with lima beans is a no go for me. We haven't tried the F, but we have the PDP Pro SD, which we like quite a bit. Again, the PDP SF is not a bad gun, and I can see why some people like it, but it does nothing special, at least not in our hands, and especially for $2,000+. The Lok grips may improve the gun for us too, but the fact that I have to mess around upgrading and changing it, at that price, says it all. We own and shoot a lot of firearms, and we let everyone we know shoot our guns, and most agree, the PDP SF is nothing special, other than the trigger. It's only real draw would be to serious competition shooters who do not want to deal with hammer down starts, or those who have a lot of money to burn on firearms and like expensive range toys. Even then, it does not mean everyone who shoots or buys one will like it. I also saw your comment regarding the Canik SF. We have shot that firearm as well and I thought it shot similarly to the PDP, and it is less than half the price. Our buddy has one and he did a trigger job on it, and it shoots great. I wish we liked the PDP SF, because we are $2,300 deep, and it is just sitting on the wall. Basically a paperweight. We take it out here and there and put some rounds through it, in an attempt to see if maybe it can grow on us, like Glocks did. Unfortunately, that has not occurred. It is still just an overpriced, OK gun with a great trigger. Also take into consideration, we own a Sig Custom Works P226 X-Five (same price as the PDP SF), a Sig Legion with a Gray Guns competition trigger, an M&P Metal Competitor with the Floyd's Porting (a personal favorite), the Shadow Systems DR920P elite (amazingly flat shooter), a Staccato XC (another overpriced gun), multiple SIg AXGs, and multiple other firearms with comps, upgraded triggers, and more. We even have multiple bone stock guns. Some people have more firearms than we do, and some people have less, and everyone will have their personal favorites, for one reason or another. The PDP SF is not one of our favorites. Last thing I will say about it is, we have a friend who loves his 5" PDP SF. It is actually his favorite gun, and like us, he owns quite a few firearms. However, he even thinks it is overpriced, as there are so many other firearms that are similar in shootability, but cost much less. We were just talking about it last weekend. He thinks it should be $1,200 as it comes. That is about what we thought too, or $1,500 with decent sights and a better spring. Either way, we appreciate your input and respect your opinion. It's a great time to be a gun owner as there is something for everyone. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I'll be checking out your channel again. I am subbed, but didn't get a notification about your new vids. The lok grips you chose look pretty cool.

      I prefer recoil lugs too, but I haven't had any issues with bolts shearing off on any of my Sigs. I only mount Sig optics to my Sig firearms, so the optic cut is the same size as the optic, which really doesn't allow for forward to back movement. The side to side movement is more of a concern to me, as if you smack the optic on something there is nothing to prevent sideways movement. So far so good with Sig's mounting, but as I said in the review, I would like it if they started using recoil bosses. Thanks for watching and commenting.
