I think Asimov's Foundation trilogy is a truly ‘unfilmable’ work. The whole story plays with the fact that there are no ‘recurring characters’, but that individual stories are told one after the other, which all come together to form the big picture of the ‘Seldon Plan’. Having Gaal as a time-travelling heroe, fighting the evil mule is just not at all living up to this ingenious idea..

I love the addition of the Cleonic dynasty in the show. Makes it more compelling than a strict book adaption. But the whole season 2 arc fundamentally goes against the idea that Seldon had. He set into motion events that are based on the actions of trillions of people over hundreds/thousands of years. But here he is specifically relying on the actions of just a handful of people (Hober Mallow, Brother Day, Demerzel) to ensure the Foundations survival. That is not what the math of psychohistory is!

I love how they took the real mule’s description from the book and delivered exactly that to the screen. A man of surpassing physical strength whose eyes kill. I would have gone with the original version however what they did makes sense

(Spoilers for season two) The showrunners missed a huge opportunity by having Hari kill Tellem. Gaal should have goaded Tellem to piggyback off her mind into the future. There, Tellem would’ve been confronted and easily killed by the Mule, leaving her body in a vegetative state in the past. This would have demonstrated the massive power of the Mule as someone capable of killing a mentallic like Tellem Bond from 152 years in the future, while also showcasing another utility of Gaal’s mentallic powers.

At the start I didn't like the many changes in season 1, but I warmed up to the emperor dinasty arc for instance, but this "mule" is just too far away from the original, and just for spectacle meaning, to be flashy, to appeal a wider audience I guess... meh...

I swear, every scene of this trash woke show has at least one "woman of color". This woke era must be like the Great Depression for white actors and actresses. 90% of them must be out of work. First, you cannot get a role unless you bow and scrap to the woke cult, discard your integrity, sell out your own people, sell your soul and betray your values/principles. Even if you opt to become a sellout and mindlessly parrot all of the woke dogma like a good puppet it is likely that you still won't get any roles because of the color of your skin, because of all of that "privilege" you seem to enjoy as you struggle to feed your family being an actor/actress in a time it is trendy and hip to oppress and discriminate against white people. Meanwhile, box office flops become the norm and studios desperately try to remake and ruin every old show and movie because apparently they fired all of the good writers for being white and thus are only left with people who are only good at shallow virtue signaling and empty gen z snark....with the occasional super hero landing thrown in. This is why modern shows suck. They ruined Star Trek many times over. They utterly destroyed Star Wars too. LOTR was decimated as well with a billion dollar woke show being the biggest flop in TV history. Now they are scraping the bottom of the barrel for new sci-fi shows with Foundation BUT instead of learning their lesson with Star Trek and Star Wars, they continue to emphasize "diversity casting"/discrimination. Studios knowingly assign lead roles to people that they know will do poorly. Just look at the lead on Star Trek Diversity....she was diverse and hated by all. The same with the Mary Sue from Star Wars and Rings of Power.
