I’ll admit, I wasn’t aware of your work before I watched the John Delin episode, but I’m so glad I did. This was a great discussion, especially when you got to the cigarettes and McDonald’s portion. There’s so much the average citizen (me) is clueless about in this country and I’m very thankful for intelligent and careful/thorough presenters such as yourself. I look forward to checking out your homeopathy and faith healing series next!

This is completely out of context, so I have no idea what the "bullshit" is. Is Jon talking about abortion? I wish you would include a longer clip with the context after the simultaneous head tilt, or at least summarize it in the description. I suppose I'll have to search for it in the full-length show. As a skeptic, I'm uncomfortable with being told of "bullshit detection" without being shown the facts or having a way to evaluate for myself whether I concur. ////Bunny kisses for all!

I'm not impressed. Best I can tell, evolution is just as much a theory as theology. I figure, until science can replicate it, we can't absolutely know ANYTHING. But I agree, we should all doubt our beliefs. Even evolutionists. I think I'll just remain open and see what pans out in the end. 😎

There is no need for a flesh and blood historical Jesus when we already know from the examples of LDS's spirit Moroni, Islam's Angel Gabriel - and a hundred "other/pagan" incarnations heavenly and earthly ... an "archetypal experience" of a world saving-Jesus in trance, visions, prophecies, dreams, etc., suffice quite adequately. The "spiritual Christ" was the FIRST CHRIST. The "Gospel Jesus of history" came much later and is clearly an idealized literary creation illustrative of Jewish prophecy fulfillment. No historical Jesus need apply.

I left Mormonism just over a year ago..raised in it, 51 years old. Still can’t believe I bought all that shit my whole life. These religions with their manipulation, control tactics, lies..why isn’t this illegal, it’s a form of abuse..by an institution. And yeah, the Great Vending Machine in the Sky concept makes a-lot of people suffer thinking they don’t qualify for help with their problems somehow while prosperity gospel makes the smug perfectionists think they somehow earned all their smooth sailing. Bad shit happens to good people and assholes sometimes prosper.

I still can’t believe how long I did believe the Jesus story

I echo the appreciation of your channel. One aspect is the fact that you introduce me to interesting lesser known channels❤ Most recently the godless engineer. It is a bit interesting for me that your background as a cross examiner has well prepared you to interview people.

I was having a conversation with someone that said the Constitution does not say "separation of church and state". I remembered hearing you talk about this and went back to find where and listen again. Thank you for the resource.

I am not American, but as much as I'd like to see a woman in the Presidency - you really need that person to BE GOOD at it, not just because of diversity. A great example is from the TV show "24" where they had a female president and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am listening to this at 2:16 PM 7/22/24. Kamala was the only logical choice...and after much thought that is what Kamala concluded too. Her life is about to become very topsy turvy..she needed some time to put some things into place. I am looking forward to Kamala debating 45, kinda, the debate between Hillary and 45 creeped me out, how he stalked her all over the stage, Hillary handled him beautifully but it was so off putting for the audience, I am not sure I would watch the debate, depends on the rules? But Kamala will kick 45's butt..it will probably be the most watched debate ever. You would think 45 would enjoy that? LOL But he is quaking in his boots..big time. It is telling that he is so frightened by this woman of color..he wasn't afraid of Hillary..? I am sad Biden dropped out because I know his practical and predictable record while in office, I am happy that Kamala is taking his place because she is also predictable in her practicality. Is this country ready to vote for a woman for President that happens to be a POC? I know I am, I voted for Hillary without a 2nd thought back in 2016, so did my offspring, also because we knew she was up for the job. We also knew how vile 45 was...I am still stunned at how many white women voted for 45? It was rather troubling...I was not one of those. They must not have any respect for themselves is all I could think, but perhaps they were being practical? Still do not understand... This time white women know what freedoms and liberties they have lost and it has caused them pain. This time they have no choice but to vote for a woman for President. So yes as a nation we are ready to vote for a woman for President, because we do not like when our choices are taken away.. I am looking forward to your 2024 podcast..you explain things well.

Biden is a genius. He just actually WON against Donald Trump in all reality. The Tao Te Ching 68 says: The best warrior leads without haste fights without anger overcomes without confrontation. And I didn't think I'd be this excited for Kamala but I find myself suddenly hopeful for my grandchildren's futures, especially my mixed granddaughter. I've experienced racism when I would take her to library story hour, ffs. But now we FINALLY join the rest of the world that doesn't count women out of the top spot...and leader of the free world -- hooboy! Let's GO Kamala! And they've already gone knives-out on DEI, misogyny, and blatant racism. It's glorious to watch Gorka and Kirk going full racist to the WORLD - a world that doesn't actually share this cancer that we have here in the US. They have outed themselves as among the most horrible of human excrement. Another win for Joe Biden! I relate to this guest. I grew up in NC in a fire and brimstone kind of family. Holiness Pentacostal. It was definitely a process of figuring out what I i believe and what i do not believe. I consider myself an Agnostic Atheist but i still cant bring myself to tell my mother that and I'm 36 years old. Great video as always!

I created a complete personal essay on why I don't believe a historical Jesus existed. I didn't have this information, Dr. Carrier's, or even the comparative source, of which I didn't use. I merely mentioned the comparative source so people don't consider me to be the only one with this conclusion. I have used this as my Twitter argument "Step method: 1. Prove a historical Jesus existed. 2. He was magical 3. His magic came from a god 4. That god was your god 5. That your god exists at all! (You might want to start with #5)"
