Winter sounds. 1993 Mustang GT, Vortech, Flowmaster, B31 Cam
A little mid winter car start, and it put enough of a smile on my face that I thought I'd take a video.

It's been a long time since I posted the video on the '93 GT. This was an impromptu video since I was taking this car for a spin anyway, but I get up to speed on what's happening in my Mustang world with both cars, and let you hear the full exhaust on this car. I hope you enjoy.

At this point I've owned the car for about 2 months. It's my first Mustang, and my first foxbody. I'm in the process of sorting out the car, from multiple previous owners. One of the bits that needs finishing is the exhaust. The car has Hooker long tube headers, X-pipe (can't tell which brand), Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers, and muffler shop tail pipes. Before I install a set of 409S (stainless)...
mine also has 40 series, but mine sounds more chopy and sharpe.
@@berardoferrari the super 40 muffler has a larger case and uses thicker metal. The interior baffling arrangement is different as well. It's made for higher hp applications, according to the FM literature, but who knows.

What size piping?
2.5", except for the tailpipes. They're bigger now. Complete new setup but still Super 40s. Check out my other video in the winter.

There are different 40s, just make sure you get the ones you mean to get.

TFS Track Heat 170cc heads. Tubular GT40 manifold.

@@pimpovic2 had the combo on my 95 gt about 10 years ago. Longtubes, upr X, 40s catback. Switched back to the H.
I like the sound of these mufflers inside and outside. Unfortunately it looks like Mac isn't in business any more. Are these mufflers pretty easy to get?
These mufflers kind of stuck with me, although I didn't immediately love them. They have a certain bass quality which I dig. Unfortunately, they'll be hard to find at this point. Mac being closed and all...
No car ever has sounded as wonderful as a Fox Body 5.0 with some Flowmasters. I wish the new 5.0’s could replicate that sound!

@@mikemarks1834 "the proof of the pudding is in the eating" is the original saying. The Mac has a nice low gurgle, and the Flows have that classic sound. Both different from each other, both good in their own ways.
@@pimpovic2 May because I grew up on people running Flowmaster on their mustangs is just to me there’s no other sound on a mustang. that’s just my opinion

Random update on the car, and some info on the exhaust: I've taken everything apart and had the engine out, getting ready for a full Vortech V3 build. I also have a new H/C/I setup on the car and I'm about a month away from getting the car completed, tuned and on the road. I'll upload a video of the new build at some point and detail the major parts. BUT! I'm sticking with the Super 40s for the new exhaust setup. It will be all new from the mid pipe back, but I really like the way these sound. Sticking with an Xpipe too. I took the top end off, down to only the block and original rotating assembly. I was able to figure out a few things based on some of the questions I've been asked here in the comments. -Headers are actually OBX brand, they seem pretty solid despite likely being Ebay headers. The welds are good, and finish is nice. Not Hooker, like I was told. -Xpipe was fabbed up at the muffler shop with a generic part. All of the bends were like the tail pipes, necked down. - Mufflers, as known are Super 40s. -The cam is the stock 93 Cobra cam. Part number, F3ZE-6250-CA -E7TE heads spec'd to GT40 Cobra spec, with 1.7 Crane Ford factory roller rockers. -The engine is a remanufactured 93 Cobra engine, so all internal parts are spec for that year. Hopefully that answers most of your questions. Keep an eye out for a new video in the future!

Was there any modifications done did you put a camshaft
I was told there is a cam, but can't confirm. Hooker long tube headers, x pipe, flowmaster super 40s. Intake, larger throttle body, gt40 heads, bored to a 306. I have a new B31 cam and vortech supercharger that will go in eventually.

Found it 👍 I did have to change it for power reasons. The whole thing was constricted from the headers back. Still used Super 40s with an X pipe though.
@@pimpovic2 Yeah I think I’m going to do a off-road H pipe with some Shorty headers and some 40 Flowmaster delta flow I don’t want all of that interior drone
