How I Travel Hacked Our Trip From Alaska to Hawaii
Here I share my travel hacking tips and how I managed to save thousands of dollars on our trip to Kauai. Our stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai and Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle's Southport were all free (booked with points). I also share how I travel hacked our flights and car rental. As always, thanks for tuning along.
I learned how to travel hack from the Travel Mom Squad, formerly known as the Travel Hacking Moms. While I did not take their online course, I did listen to their podcast, read their blog posts, and followed them on instagram. I am not affiliated with them but wanted to give them credit for introducing me to the travel hacking world!

I had an illness that sent me to the hospital and when I got home, I kept telling my husband there was a leak in the roof because I constantly heard a drip drip dripping sound. Turned out to be my heartbeat! It was slightly amusing that I had my husband searching for a leak and it wasn't even raining. I only hear it occasionally now. It might have been due to high blood pressure while I was sick but I'm not sure.

I been hearing the heartbeat/swooshing sound for the last couple weeks since i finished my Chemo! I was diagnosed with extreme anemia so figured that has something to do with it. Unfortunately my Chemo doctor has no idea what it is so is sending me to an Ears Throat and Nose doctor but also wants me to get a blood transfusion! 😩

Love this video! I'm researching prior to my trip to Seward (in August, this coming weekend!). I saw your Alyeska Spa video first, which was amazing! It will likely be cold and rainy for the 4 hour Resurrection Bay Cruise we've booked...I was planning to wear lightweight pants that dry quickly (after you've taken them off and hung them up for several hours), but now I'm thinking I should bring my Boulder Gear fleece lined ski pants! Thanks so much for the fabulous views, reassuring me that we will actually be able to see fun things even if it's rainy and cloudy, and for helping me plan my wardrobe! I also completely forgot to think of bringing a wool hat for some reason (maybe because it's currently 90 degrees in NYC?) so thank you for reminding me to pack some color coordinated wool berets!

I LOVE this video, thank you! My sister and I just booked day passes for a Saturday in August, and we also have a reservation that evening for dinner at the Seven Glaciers Restaurant. I'm not booking a massage, but my sister might. I do know that a great massage will leave you feeling like mush! The first time I had a serious massage they required me to have someone else pick me up and drive me home, and afterwards I understood why! Thank you so much for your stealthy videos! It is August so it shouldn't be that crowded, but we will make an effort to get there early. I also couldn't quite figure out if the spa was at the top or bottom of the Tram. Thanks to your video, I can see that it's a short walk to the Tram for the restaurant, and most importantly, there are hair dryers and vanity mirrors at the spa so I can primp before dinner! The spa website does recommend bringing a non-glass water bottle, and I appreciate your inclusion of locations to fill our water bottles so we can bring them empty. Your videos, and description of the places where you couldn't record make me so excited for this adventure! I've subscribed, and will watch your Kenai Fjords Resurrection Bay Tour next! Tee Hee! I'm so looking forward to this trip, and I thank your for these videos as I do my research!

Thank you so much for this. I have had pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear for six months and was referred recently for an urgent hospital appointment. Going to get CT scan results (of sinuses and inner ear) tomorrow and will see what they suggest after that. I think the vascular stuff is what concerns me most. I have had a bit of vertigo here and there but it's not bad thankfully. The pulsing and whooshing, especially at night, is a lot though. I have been wondering if it is related to my neck and shoulder muscles, as they haven't been great for a while, and I have a bit of TMJ too... but I'm just not sure if that would cause such persistent unilateral pulsatile tinnitus? I guess we'll see! Wishing everyone well on their journey - it's so interesting to read that it seems to be more common in women. It definitely helps to know you're not the only one going through it. ❤

I have constant high pitch ringing/hissing tinnitus. If there was an op, I'd jump at the chance. If there was a 1% chance of success and a 99% chance of death, I'd still take it.

I first noticed the PT about a month ago. I have an MRI and MRA scheduled in a couple of weeks. Both test are done, one right after the other. My nurse practitioner wants to rule out worst case scenario first. She suggested I try Coricidin and Flonase. In the meantime, possibly as it may be a sinus issue.

hi! thank you for this video, really provides me with a sense of relief and comfort knowing that there are other people out there struggling with this. mine is more of a click in time with my heartbeat and it comes and goes - more often at night. I do think mine has a link to anxiety but I really don’t know anymore. I have a pre-existing cholesteotoma in the same ear which I am getting my second surgery for in 1 months time and am hoping that maybe it will help me? i will update this once it’s done! x

The reason is due to Potassium Deficiency. The body needs around 4,000 mg of potassium a day. You can get this by removing processed carbs and sugars and adding a lot of vegetables to your diet. I also recommend getting enough magnesium and Vitamin C. The reason that sound comes to the ear is due to the muscles in your neck and ear are pulsing. Getting enough Potassium, Magnesium, and Vitamin C should also help your other muscles and organs in your body.

    • @avandoren1
      @avandoren1 11 днів тому

That's interesting, because when it happened to me while I was in the hospital, they did say my potassium was very low! I don't eat carbs but while in the hospital I had stopped taking my potassium and magnesium supplements.

I’ve had a tinnitus like that in 2010. Started one morning for apparently no reason. I had an mri maybe 1 year after and the diagnosis was a dural arteriovenous fistula. DAVF. It’s dangerous because there is arterial blood going into veins. At some point the veins will fail and it will hemorrhage in the brain. It took 2 surgeries but a doctor was able to embolize the blood vessels and the arterial blood stopped going into the veins. Tinnitus stopped too.

Just your thoughts...Grand Hyatt or Aulani? Please compare, and which one would you go back to? We have done both in the last couple of years. Your Aulani video helped us plan our Aulani trip. But over all we loved the Grand Hyatt vibe. I would go to the Hyatt year after year. The Aulani seems like a trip we loved, but don't feel the need to go back anytime soon. Hyatt has a vibe of Relaxation and we always felt we had areas of the pool all to ourselves.

    • @theanxiousmomma

I am a Disney fan but I would choose the Grand Hyatt over Aulani 🫢 you are correct, we loved Aulani but don’t feel like we have to go back (unless someone offers me a free trip 🤣). The Grand Hyatt is just on a whole other level. The pools were amazing. Definitely would go back there!

That's what I notice when I don't hear the ringing, it's replaced by a headache. I believe it is caused by poor circulation and chronic stress. Everything is related to gut, liver, heart, kidney, pancreas and hormonal imbalance. We need to take care of ourselves. Tinnitus is a warning sign to love more of yourself.

So funny! I can so relate! I started making sourdough about 4 years ago. My starter’s name is “Mom” (long story on the name, lol). I watched like 2 million videos. Everyone does it different which is so confusing. Finally I just went for it and I am so glad I have stuck with it. The one thing I will say is that you will figure out how to make sourdough fit your lifestyle and it will be great! I work as well so Mom comes out of the fridge on Friday, I feed her a couple of times and make bread on Sunday! Stick with it! You have won half the battle with your starter!

It was a pleasure watching this video! Been making sour dough breads for many years, and we all went thru what you experienced. I never thought the darn thing would come alive, and the flour I wasted. I still lose patience with it, but it all works. Keep trying, your bread looked awesome, and your stamina gave me the inspiration to keep going. When it comes out of the oven, SUCESS!👍🏻🥖🍞.
