October 7th 1940 Very early hours of this morning a V&W destroyer was spotted by the deck crew. We slowed the engines down and slowly crept up on it before opening fire. One torpedo, one hit. The destroyer went down in 22 minutes. Late this morning, around 11am or so we were joined by U17 and U25 from the 2nd Flotilla. An hour later we happen upon a convoy, a mix of British and Canadian warships guarding 22 merchant ships. Unfortunately, we were discovered, and U17 was lost in the exchanges. We sank four merchant ships and a Tribal destroyer. Our U-boat has taken some damage, our deck gun has been completely destroyed and the electronics in the forward cabin crew have shorted out. We have headed back to Brest for repairs, there isn't a supply ship out here. Rumour has it the admiralty is looking to target the Americans soon. A lot of supplies are headed to the United Kingdom from there. We should be back in Brest by tomorrow evening, provided of course there isn't anything that diverts our attention or that the U-boat doesn't suddenly stall in the middle of the ocean.
