Join me for some troubleshooting and repairing of electronics equipment and pretty much anything else I can get my hands on. Things don't always get fixed, but we'll give it one heck of a try. This channel will be a success if any of the following works: You learn something, I learn something, or it was just something interesting to watch. Troubleshooting and/or repairing things is one of my favorite things to do. If I can get something working again, that leaves me with a great feeling of success.
Tell your friends to join after you do because you never know what I'll be fixing here. It might be something they'll need help with.
Thanks,
Dale

Microwave Diodes And Fuse Replacement - Test Diodes For Failure
Переглядів 338Місяць тому
We replace the bad diodes and fuse in this microwave, and we test both diodes to show that they are bad. If you have another way to test the diodes, please leave it in the comments. We could always send a couple thousand volts through them, but a test jig would have to be made.

Can the clear tube just be placed directly onto the vacuum line hole? Can you just eliminate that broken plastic piece and tie it directly?
I'm sure they do it that way because if you connect the hose directly to the hole, when you reassemble the unit, it may kink the hose, and then the vacuum won't work correctly.
Ordered from Amazon but works for single day only mini massager is working.
Yeah, these are a horrible product.
Nice video. I have a black Revlon. I took the 2 screws out of the handle, like you did. But it was stuck on top. There was a little clip on top that I managed to disengage without breaking the case. Is there an easy fix to quiet a rough sounding motor ? It was not covered in lint or dust. I didn't pull the whole assembly out of the plastic case. I am guessing that it is time for a new hair dryer.
It sounds like the motor might not being held in place very well. I would inspect what keeps the motor in place or look for broken plastic parts lodged in there some place. Make sure hair is not wrapped around the bearings as well. Good luck.
Hello Dear Technician ,, can you please tell me the number of transistors and diode and where you bought, ,, will be your greatness
That was a while ago. I don't remember the information you're asking about. You'll have to find the problem area and start testing all the components around that area. Sorry.
How old was your mower and what shape was the grease in?
I don't know how old it was as it wasn't mine. If I remember correctly, the grease was dry and filled with metal filings from the bad gear.
it will not stop... it will happen over and over and over again.....
Self-healing diode with auto smoke restore - cool 40 years ago, I mounted an FRS 20 Fusetron on a test board for all my electrician buddies to see. With 480 volts at the top, no voltage was read at the bottom, but with a 3V DC Ideal continuity tester, the little incandescent flashlight bulb glowed brightly, No rhyme or reason. Want a real surprise, check the schematic on your Microwave. There (at least in the past), was a circuit that would blow a fuse, if somehow the one door switch failed, and you pulled on the handle. This switch was labelled - (use only this number switch here - no substitutions.) On the schematic, if you look closely, there is a direct path between hot and neutral. I never understood why UL would allow this (catastrophic fail), but apparently it was either OK, or they missed it.
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing that.
I had no idea of the diodes. The most frequent issue I find is a bad door micro switch. They go bad because, IMO, people abuse by stopping the cooking by opening the door. The micros are there for safety, they can't take the cycle life like the relay.
Yes thanks I thought it was the axle
I have the exact same issue. Cleaned the mode switch and even tested it with continuity, the mode switch works but same issue. Still watching your vid
I love your solution! Very creative I don't think my issue is the belt
Be sure to check those belts. If there's any slack, they probably need changed. Thanks for watching. Good luck.
Beautiful job! You didn't give up! Tiny solders make a difference, and not just one or two, either. Your patience bore out! He's a lucky man that owns this tool and will have it for many years to come.
I think you were just trying to show up your little machine tester cuz you were no help at all Just saying
@fritz2259 if you have a better way to prove it doesn't work, you are more than welcome to show me how it's done.
@ElectronicsEditor I put my feet on it and then I say to myself self This pad doesn't work
This is the year i have and the same problem,im going to change the motor and resistor and the fuse
If you look carefully the coil is not for the lows ( woofer) both components are for the tweeter. 2nd order crossover. Woofer is full range. There’s mods on line to make them sound better
Thank you. I haven't done circuit board soldering for some time. I bought the NTE981 and installed it. The numbers on the one I took out were 78L08 ACP M649 (The "M" looked like a Motorola logo). I did not get it to work, but that's not to say it could have been something else. Had fun anyways! COuldn't help doing this since this my exact GDO unit. All the best!
Did you measure to see if you are getting the 8 volts out of the chip? I don't remember the board being too complicated, so it still could be something simple to locate. Thanks for watching and good luck with the repair.
Thanks, good job, illustrated.
just picked up one of these from the scrapyard with similar symptoms. gonna check out that resistor
Mine is not working
I have this car, and GM should be sued for the wiring harness AND the way they run the wire to the wheel hub. Its a HORRIBLE DESIGN. This will be my LAST CHEVY
Thank you so much for this str8 to the point video
I have this. I cant get above 2 or 3. Even at 1 my muscles contract like theres no tomorrow. At 3 and 4 on some modes, my back foot litetally leaves the mat. I actually came to these videos to see if mine was defective, as people were saying they could go to 17 without much stimulation. There's a couple of comments on another similar video who said he felt nothing at level 17, but his daughter couldn't get past level 1 intensity. I'm tying to work out if it just effects people differently due to anatomy or body type or something? I'm a genuine buyer and not a shill btw. I was going to put a video up on Reddit, but realised you can only do photos. Not confident enough for YT lol
Complete piece of junk doesn't even work at all
Mine works. Can't get past 2 or 3 on most modes lol
Mine doesn't work never worked 😞 still paying it off
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, and helping bring awareness to the danger of lint buildup.
Yeah, I clean mine out at least once a year. And yes, that was a big fire hazard. So people clean your dryers at least once a year.
I took the blade parts off to clean it and cannot figure out how to put them back where they belong. 🙄
At 39:15 it will show you how it should go back together. Also, watch about 2:30 and follow the procedure backward. I hope you figure it out.
@@ElectronicsEditor I'll try again. I took EVERYTHING off to clean out the dog hair then didn't put it back together immediately. I had been grooming a 100lb long haired German Shepherd and was beat. It's hard for me to see how the parts that secure the blades go back in place. 🙄👵
i used a small piece of aluminum foil over those snaps to help the continuity between the snaps and the foot pad circuit took two minute and works like new again
Thanks for your video I'm trying to fix the exact same dryer. It was no longer heating at all so I ordered a new heating element it came with all the new connections so I just unconnected all the wires and put them back exactly how they where I even took pictures to make sure I didn't make a mistake. I put it all back together it started up and ran so I out a wet towel in it let it run for about 15 minutes came back to check and I just opened the door the towel didn't feel warm but idk if it was in long enough. Anyway I put the towel back in and tried to turn the power on and now it has no power at all. No lights or nothing. I unplugged it and went and reset the the breaker but the breaker wasn't tripped. I plugged the dryer in about 5 minutes later and still no power. Can you please help me?I need advice lol I'm trying to fix it for a friend and don't want to disappoint them and myself I've already came this far
@@DustinTempleton-qy2xn Sorry your having troubles. I would check the power connection in the back for the plugin power, or look at the little switch connected to the belt tensioner. Check to make sure the two cables for the panel display are ok. Let me know if any of this helps. If not we'll have to dig deeper.
Please let us know if and when you find the problem. I am curious as to what happened. Thank you.
Are those 8 ohm speakers?
The small Realistic speakers I used on the table. Yes, they are 8 Ohm.
Thank you. Is that metalic paint available so I could repaint the connectors? Mine has a full circle of paint around the snap but it's not connecting it worked for a few days. Directions said do not wash mat.
There are conductive paint pens, but they are expensive for the little bit you get in them, and the slightest bend usually will crack the conductive material. The conductive paint is really made to lay flat and not bend. So, it won't last long at all. It's not really worth the money or time. Good thinking though. I thought about the same thing at first. 👍

@@thomaschandler2153 I think I still have the ones I looked at. I should give that a try. Thanks for the input.
Thanks for even more waste time and money.did nothing
I showed you what was wrong and why you cannot fix them. That didn't help you. What did you want to know?
I was really trying to figure out how to get mine apart. This video was very helpful!
I'm glad it helped you.
I used something on your desk, solder wick for the “weaved” cable replacement. Used needle nose pliers to dissipate the heat.
Thank you very much! Does Haynes or Chiltons make a repair manual for the 2013 impala? I can't seem to find anything
I reached out to Hanes, and they do not make a manual for that year. They own Chilton as well so I assume Chilton does not either or they should have told me. Sorry.
@@ElectronicsEditor thank you for responding. The search continues
Great video but I wish you had used better lighting. It was hard to see what you were doing.
Thank you very much for your info and I will be sure to have appropriate lighting in future videos.
Hey
That lock ring is a real @&*%#!!
The hardest part of the whole repair. Lol...
Hello, After removing the screws, there are probably some small sections that snap apart, but it should not break. Just pry gently once you get it starting to open. As far as the air-blowing issue, it may have hair built up on the inside that needs to be removed. If it has overheated, it might have started to melt the fan blade on the inside. Either way, it will need to come apart for inspection.
Right on brother...Right on!

Super video and step by step instructions, straight forward and easy to follow! Thank you so much! 🤗💕
Do I need to put grease back in box after cleaning and reassembling? Thank you for the video! I wish you did the break down of taking it apart and putting back together
Yeah, sorry about that. I'm sure it would have been helpful to do it that way. And yes, you do need to put grease back in the box before you reassemble it. You don't want the metal gears to rub against each other without it. It will ruin them faster than you know it.
Watching you struggling to open it up upside down was absolutely killing me 😆 I have already had mine opened up 3 times trying to troubleshoot.
I struggle to please. Lol... I hope you finally got yours to work.
I have a question.. would it be easier to replace that whole wire harness
You could replace it as far up to the ABS system as you can, like I did, just to make sure you get what could be all the problems in the wires, but it would be a difficult job to get the pins or sockets (I forgot which it was) out of the connector without ruining anything else. I didn't think they sold the harness with the pins or sockets on the ends. Probably the easiest thing to do is replace about a foot to foot and a half of the harness.
Thanks for this! I've had an E520 since 2005 and have kept it going just because. Today I checked and yup, it has bad caps. Not sure if I'll draw the line here or not. Specs: Intel Core 2 Quad (I think Q6600), 8GB DDR2 RAM, 500 GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce GT 1030.
Yeah, it's probably time to upgrade because support for stuff that old has run out. I have a couple older ones as well that still work but they're not really good for anything these days. New software won't be compatible with the motherboard or processor. I think it's time to retire it. 😁 🤔🤷♂
