2014 Sport 98K, took in yesterday and they installed the subframe braces. I crawled under today to see what they did and my frame and rust spots look to be in good shape despite living in rust belt area. Going to keep doing underbody washes frequently during winter months to rinse away any brine and salt and try to extend the life of her. I had a 2007 previously that had 198K miles on it which I do not know the state of rust issue on it because when I got rid of it in 2018 it was before the recall.

You can get "subaru oem" parts and fluid from the same factories, without their name/logo, for much cheaper. Literally no reason to pay more.

Nice, you went for a smaller footprint with the 215s. I run the factory 225s and the biggest limiting factor I find is air resistance after 50-55. I've gotten 33mpg on highway flat terrain. Hope you're having fun on your little excursion =)

Just had my old car radio replaced with a Pioneer (DEH-S7200BHS) in my 2005 RAV4 and want to try this with my old stereo. I looked through so many of the DYI videos as a beginner and this is the one that I could follow. Would be great to keep using my old Toyota radio with its CD player (and cassette player!). Fingers crossed, I do it right. Thanks so much.

This was a pain in the but to try to get it in there. Right now I don’t have one in but I’ll put it in tonight. This video should help, mine got so bad it was kicking the ac off. It’s to hot out especially with my maxima being black lol. It’s only been out for a day so I figure that shouldn’t hurt. I hit that slot with my shop vac and a ton more came out.

Very interesting. Purchased 2022 used certified Legacy 4/2024 and had towed today for no start. Turned over with jumper cables. Tow man said mine was 3rd one he towed today (2024 x 2 and mine), Does not appear that they resolved the same issues related to lawsuit.........Pissed.....

2013 saved my life in a t bone only had it 3 weeks soooooo I bought a 2011 rtl it was like new with 81000 did my service at 92 and runs like a champ ohh and about 120 the altinator will fail so be ready 😅😮

For the driver's side, you can do it under the fender as if you would replace low beam headlight.

If you guys are struggling and don't have proper tools like i did here is a ghetto trick. Wrap a zip tip around the d ring, dont tighten too much yet. Put 2 zipties or paracord through it to make circles, these will be your handles. Now tighten the zip tie as tight as you can around the skinniest part of the d ring so it doesn't slip offwhen pulled back towards the stock. Grab your 2 handles with one hand (you can position them to the top side or bottom to get better leverage where you need) and pull down, use your other hand to guide the handguard in. I tried using rubber handle pliers, clothing hangers and various other tips i read about but came just short. If its a psa, congrats you've just made it through the easy part. Yes the handguard will fit, but psa demands near heartattack levels of frustration in order to fit the new one. Or just real tools/a second person. Doubt anyone will do this ghetto ass method but I'll post it anyways.
