when she was up for the role of Sheila is between her and a 19 year old by the name of Donna Gaines they didn't want to make Donna Gaines an understudy so they cast her as Sheila in the German cast she met her husband helmet sommer. she was Nineteen at the time. while she was in here she recorded her first album and they spelled her last name wrong and that's how she became Donna Summer.

Enjoyed seeing her and Melissa Errico with new - equally excellent- versions on youtube. Errico did one in 2016. Marin and Melissa did great with this song, and Alice Ripley is always amazing of course.
