It's 2024 and your tutorial is still reaching folks like me! Old, curly, silver-gray hair I cut myself is looking so good following your method. Am also able to give my husband even better haircuts. He has hair that lays well, but now, goodness it looks good! Thank you for sharing your talent with us out here 🙏🥰🙏
I am growing my pixie cut out and am almost a year into the process. It's growing nicely into a bob, about chin length now, but my hair is thick and unruly and I want layers. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for; I can have layers and keep the base length in the back so as it grows out, it will be nice and even and pretty. I am SO glad I found this, thank you!

Maureen, I love your video and watch it repeatedly. My only criticism is that I wish you would have started your video explaining how and where you do the sectioning. Otherwise, love everything about the video and the way you explain everything step by step. Kudos Maureen!!

Hello maureen. I have tons of very fine hair, enough for two heads, years ago a hairdresser used to cut my hair like this because it was the only style I could manage, she used to soften the ends lovely . She used to say my hair hated corners but I never knew what she meant. Still don't after watching this. Could you explain what the corners are because i've been getting alot of dodgy haircuts recently. Thanks.
Corners refer to the hair when you cross check it. You’re cutting straight lines on a curved head, so the corners are the excess hair trimmed off to complete your cut. Or, she could mean your hair doesn’t like straight lines, so your cuts need a more textured cut
@@maureenrichards3288 Hello Maureen & thank you for replying. You're absolute right about my hair hating straight lines. At the moment I'm trying to grow out a pixie cut. When I pick up the layers especially on top of my head they are all the same length from back to front. I Haven't had my hair this short for a very long time but I do know that when I had it cut short previously, it was so much easier for me to style as it is currently. I'm desperately trying to grow it longer but there's too much volume & bulk which prevents it from laying correctly. I'm certain that years ago they would cut the corners off, ie, when I picked the top layers up between my fingers it seemed as though is was cut into triangular sections that naturally fell away from my face with no straight lines or bulkiness. I've been trying to find a diagram online. Are there any particular terms/ words I could use to explain this better to a hairdresser. It's the bulk & not the length that I want cut.
❤ beautiful job
The best tutorial on uniform layers ever 🎉 thank u!!!

Beautiful 🎉
What's this style called?

I dont have a workbook
This is like a "bixie!"
Is that real hair?
Yes it is
I love this cut! I hope my stylist knows how to do this. Maybe I’ll bring this video!
How do you determine the top length at the apex to make sure it’s alligned with the perimeter?
It depends on the length, the longer the length, usually the longer the apex guideline
How do you find the 90% point? You are doing it on your comb, do you have it marked ?
You can use your comb, set it on the head and you will find 90 off the head. Taking into account the curvature of the head

Thank you for sharing .....
Brilliant.
Do you cut the perimeter first or last?
For this cut, the perimeter is cut first 👍🏻
Can’t believe you did a two length hair cut. Sooooo dated. Almost a mullet.
Thank you 🎉

If you showing a hair cut to do on yourself then that's the way it should be shown. Not on a dummy
I wish you had blow dryed / styled it so we can see the finished product but otherwise 👍🏽
