This video is way to underrated! You saved me hours of fighting with that stupid bolt by ignoring it altogether. Thank you so much for taking the time to film and post this video!

IMPORTANT: ensure there is no graphite (brushes) stucked between commutator contacts - it will cause a short. I had this exact problem: although motor still worked, current increased to about 7amps (from, I think, 1amp nominal) and the door module started throwing various errors. In this case you can often hear a buzzing sound, because the driver (door module) is turning the motor on, then off (due to too high current) and then back on... and off... and on again... about 13 times in a row, in something like 200ms - so you get very short buzzing sound of about 60Hz.

This just happened to me, ironically on also Audi, A6 C6 2.0tdi. I've done previous service and changed oil sump plug, everything went smoothly, and now as I drained the oil, went to put new screw in, and it kinda slowed down when torqued in. It turned to have bits of metal all on screw's body, which after inspection turned out to be thread from the Oil Sump.. Are you not scared that any bits of metal will be left in the oil sump to possibly damage engine even more when it starts circulating through the engine? Would you be able to share the link to that part you bought for threading the oil sump please? Thank you very much!

It's common on vag cars because it's only supposed to be tightened to 20nm. If you have the plug out and poor fresh oil in the engine it will flush out metal debris.

To remove the mechanism part, first remove the screws from the white lid to be able to pry like at 4:07 then pull the mechanism part and the yelow and grey axels pop out while still being attached to the mechanism part, then all the screws from the cover of the electric motors can be removed and the motors be exposed
