Plus they sealed the bottom with water resistant epoxy! lol.

To me, it's interesting to know that a cruise ship (still in working order) will most likely be scrapped after it lived out it 25 year life span. But an 80+ year old cargo ship that's been rusting away in a harbor, they decide to refurbish and bring back to life. I'm glad they're giving this old ship a second chance, but it seems wasteful that cruise ships that are slightly obsolete get destroyed.

Attempts were made to preserve the "Hamen" as a museum ship and training ship for future seafarers, and the ship was given the status of a ship worthy of protection by the National Heritage Board.
