December 18, 2023 - Billie's Birthday today! I'm a 70 yr. fan [actually 9 days until!] but I thought I had seen about every reaction to her HTE album - but I didn't see this before today. But since there are no comments I'm thinking other folks haven't seen it either - no clue why. Before I comment, I'll state an opinion - I think of Billie's songs are exponentially better live and some are better acoustically with FINNEAS either on guiitar or piano. I don't mind the studio version of "Getting Older" but live iit is, I believe 5X better. It took a while for "I didn't change ..." to grow on me; there are times when FINNEAS''s little additions or outro's seems to me to be more about him putting his touch on the song, than adding much to it - but his weird outro on "I didn't ..." has grown on me. I really like "Billie Bossa Nova", love "Halley's Comet", My Future" and like you I think "Everybody dies" is very nice song (kind of haunting). Billies music videos [I'm 70 and realize I'm in a completely different zone than GEN Z - but running around the mall was 2 minutes (I timed it of wasted time) - I DO like the song, but can't stand that video [though I know it's aimed at the Paparazzi who body shamed her in 2020], - I would have left out "NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY" - Billie made a video for this. I would also have deleted "OVERHEATED" - it's silly and almost immature [also a reaction to the Paparazzi video] but the rhyme scheme is not the siblings best work. LOST CAUSE [I cant see any relationship between the MUSIC VIDEO & the song - I think it is an homage to her friend Megan The Stallion and Twerking - the video for this song in a hotel lobby is 10X better. I don't mind NDA and the only other autotuned song they did "When I was Older" I love. Oh, Goldwing - I get it's meaning and it hasn't grown on me really. Forgot "Oxytocin" - Billie is experimenting & questioning & fantasizing - it's okay. HTE (the song) I like a lot. MALE FANTASY - I don't think it is from a male vantage point as other reactors have also said - I think Billie may have looked at a PLAYBOY (or some other mag) and said - women aren't truly satisfied by your (a male's) gaze or self-gratifying desires - I love the song. I have all 3 CD's and WWAFAWDWG is in my mind that BEST beyond a shadow of a doubt - and "Don't Smile At Me" for a 14-15 is very good. I hope the free creativity of her 17 yr. old self wins out over the overly introspective calculating maneuvers of the HTE album - I still rate it as a good album - but partially because it helps us gauge the maturing of young woman - 19 yrs old, still a teenager ... How many teens at 19 talk about the boredom of GETTING OLDER.
