Paroni kyykytti kumpaakin :D
I was there with a friend on his photopress pass. I thought Eau Rouge was possibly the scariest section ever.
The last historic 1970 layout!1980's has change!
👏
Well, in that period I was a kid and I supported Agostini and MV, so when Ago moved to Yamaha I had to decide who to stay with .. In the end I was with Phil and Gianfranco on the glorious old school MV 4 stroke, haha!
The noise of the music is getting on my nerves. How can such great historic sport events be accompanied by such a penetrating noise. Disgusting !
Stupid music.
AMAZING footage - Kenny Robert's first year on the 500's - never seen any of the tracks, and still managing to win his first of 3 world championships-
Brilliant video!
Already aero was a concern at the time on the MV Agusta with front winglets at 2.01..!!...MotoJournal..la classe..!!
My favourite track of all time closely followed by Monza. The days when the racing was all about the skill of the rider and just the best technology, no traction control or electronics to help out. Bikes fairly equal and even the MV four strokes could match the best two strokes from Japan. Tyre technology was also fairly equal and no need for control tyres. Certainly took some guts to be quick as safety concerns were not really a concern, until King Kenny came along a few years later anyway. Average lap speed still held at this track I think since 1977.
In that glorious period I was a kid and I supported Agostini and MV, so when Ago moved to Yamaha I had to decide who to support. In the end I was with Phil and Gianfranco on the glorious old school MV 4 stroke!
Maravilloso, me alegró ver allí a mi compatriota Jhonni Cecotto de Venezuela.
Superbe .
Kill the soundtrack!
Ohh...look, theres wings on the MV..
Came here to watch epic time of motorbike Grand prix, just to find out that Robbie Williams stole François de Roubaix music for his song Supreme. Son of a ...
Amazed how well the mv competed against the 2 strokes
¿Porque esa musiqueta? ¿porque? ¿porque? inadmisible
MV Agusrta
Winglets on Phil's bike.
fuck musik ,no sound.
RIP. Phil.
RIP Phil. A true champion.
1:52 MV Agusta with aerodynamic wings 1974
Practice only . Phil Read did not like them.
This would been a great video without the awful background music.
Is it a coincidence that the music is just like Robbie William's Love Supreme, the video to which was the 1970 Belgian GP? If the music is from the era, I suppose royalties were paid to the original writers.
Phil Read 1973-1974 MV ruless
I've a large '74 poster on the wall of Phil on his 500/4 head on shot . He's cranked over on a left hand bend facial expression fixed, cool and unruffled, most impressive. A dangerous but amazing racing period.
Scheen lap record more than 222km/h ...but Read win!
Wonderful.. and to find some footage of my dear mother Madeleine.
I don't understand all the criticisms for the music. evidently the quality of the original audio was not usable or aligned to the (high quality) of the video. And the music is absolutely in armony with the style of the period, it's very 70's sounding and perfectly combined with the video. Thanks for this very nice work
Such a shame the sounds of the bikes was edited out and canned music put in it's place.
*I well remember the Race of the Year at Mallory Park September 1964, and long after the race had finished and the crowds had gone, asking a Marshall if I could drive my car (Citroen DS19) around the circuit, he said better ask Mike (Hailwood) and directed me to him. I asked Mike, who I had briefly met a number of times before, and he said of course you can, and told the Marshall to let me through the top gate (Near Hairpin) - He said come back after we are having a bit of a Party with Chris Barber later. Did two/three laps and then went back. Mike appeared genuinely pleased to see me again and asked how I got on. Had a good laugh together as we found had a lot of common interests (3 years older than me and born on the same date 2nd April) and had been to the Belgian Grand Prix the previous year in my Morris Minor 1000. Stayed until late with many of the riders and "Chris Barber & his Jazzmen" playing. Imagine that today, the pits were open and you didn't need a fancy pass to get in. I was very keen on Jazz Bands, and in fact had an Acker Bilk Beard at the time, and was often mistaken for him ! (Maybe Mike thought I was "Acker") Still got the Program Price 2/6p and signed by many riders then including Phil Read, Jim Redman, Mike Duff, Bill Ivy etc. Incidentally Mike Won the race on the MV Agusta and was £1000 richer. Huge amount in those days. So no wonder he was happy. He held the 350cc Lap Record from 62-64 at 84.93 mph and the 500cc Lap record at 53 seconds 91.70 mph in 1962* *What a great person Mike was, and a terrible loss to Motor Sport. I was not aware at the time I was talking to a Millionaire's son, as Mike was so modest and unpretentious, an everyday kind of Guy.*
Chris barber and John Mayall had the best collection of blues records from America in early 60,s
wow, thanks for the share
@@mike7297 Memories Light the corners of my mind Misty watercolor memories Of the way we were Scattered pictures Of the smiles we left behind Smiles we gave to one another For the way we were Can it be that it was all so simple then? Or has time re-written every line? If we had the chance to do it all again Tell me, would we? Could we? Memories May be beautiful and yet What's too painful to remember We simply to choose to forget So it's the laughter We will remember Whenever we remember The way we were The way we were
@@GrrMeister sir, how can keep in touch with you ? Facebook ? How can I search u there
...extra !
Stupid annoying music!
A good video showing what it it used to look and feel like back in the day. How things have moved on and we thought that was normal.
At min. 5,25 - number 29 is Graziano Rossi (Valentino 's father)
Michael Rougiere was my heroe when I was 13, because I saw his beautiful and wonderful style and position on the 500 cc. Along with Sheene, I always followed him
Bom dia! Bons tempos. Pilotos corajosos, muito corajosos.
Thanks to the magic of UA-cam. There are many , many videos out there that conclusively prove that Kenny Roberts senior did not "invent " getting the knee down.
Jarnno with his ice racing techniques...?
Agree about KR not being the first to use his knee on the ground but he was the first to perfect the skill of rear wheel drifting just as they used in US dirt track racing. Think he was also the first to put tape on the knee area of his leathers before knee sliders were introduced. All skilled riders though no question.
