EcoBoost F150 Nightmare: My First Truck Blew Up! Bought Another - Will This One Survive?
Did the check engine light ever come on for secondary 02 sensors not being plugged in?
Yes, it did. Luckily, it does affect the way the truck runs or drives. It just illuminates the check engine light.
@@rosstrittler been wondering this for a while. Only reason I haven’t gotten them. I have a 16 gmc same motor. Thank you for the reply!
Hi, thanks for the review. Any interference with a radio?
How is that oriellys torque converter holding up?
Great so far
Pretty sure the TC is going out on the wife's '16 Suburban. Curious what the thought process was on heating up the dowel pins. Wouldn't that cause them to expand making it harder to get them out of the bellhousing holes? Would it be better to heat up the bellhousing instead?
The dowl pins are made of steel, which takes longer to expand with heat than the aluminum bell housing. I was trying to expand the hole for the dowl pin on the bell housing, I believe this is the fastest and safest way to direct the flame.
@@rosstrittler Seems logical, thanks for the insight.
How has the torque converter been doing bro ?
Been holding up great so far.
@11:00 -12:00 My new shock & 2.5” lift pad won’t allow the top knuckle to go back in bc the shock is pushing the lower A down. Jacking it only pushes the entire front end up but doesn’t compress the spring enough to bolt the top knuckle.
Try jacking it up at a farther point (closer to the brake rotor). Also try loosening the bolts for both control arms, and then retighten when you have everything connected.
Did you get the 78.1 to 106 hub rings?
I don't remember, I have the link in the description
Just did this and I used the back 12V outlet also. It was easy. Took me an hour. Thanks for the video.
No problem
Do these things work with the factory ballast thing still installed? 😮
Yes
That fluid is burnt . I'd rebuild it while it's out.
Why would you not change the front seal on the trans. Unreal
It's going great so far.
Getting ready to put my speed engineering longtubes. I'm in MO too, any problems with cops so far?
Haven't been pulled over yet, but they're pretty lenient around here with modified trucks.
Next time you have to do anything with bleeding the coolant system. Put as much antifreeze as you can, then turn your heat up all the way on the lowest setting & hold the gas pedal down for 12 seconds with key on but engine not running & the system will bleed itself. The water pump will go through cycles & work out all the air. Then fill it & you’re all set. On the blow off valve, when you’re making boost that’s what holds it down & you need the spring to push it open when you let off throttle, try a weaker spring than what you had originally & you should be all set….👍🏻
Did you connect those to the stock exhaust past the y pipe? Or did it have an aftermarket exhaust already before you installed these? Looks like it was a badass mod well worth it.
He already had a 3in MBRP exhaust that we connected it to.
The lights on top of the dash are for the parking sensors. Great find. I have a non turbo 2006 S and I absolutely love it. Make sure you unclog all the drain holes and check the wiring under the drivers side floor mat.
Awesome, thanks for the info!
Cayanne stuff is the best thing ever , do sport filter mod , the turbo guna spool way better , I am a mechanic and the early models like before the face lift the airboxes was not the best ones
Gonna get it fixed up first, then I'll get to modding it.
super deal. excited to see more
ps if you ever get sick of it lmk, I make Cayenne vids too
Subscribed and following along. Love Cayenne stuff. Keep it up man!
Appreciate that! More Cayenne content coming soon.
Which wheels are these ?
They are 19" style 351M wheels off a 535i M sport.
What tail lights do you have?
I'm not sure, but they were $150 on ebay.
@ will take a look, would you recommend short headers or go with long?
What's that cool whining sound? Is it an intake? If so, which one do you have?
Believe it or not, it's a bad oil filter. I have a video on my channel of why you shouldn't use aftermarket oil filters on these trucks.
Thanks for posting this video. Gonna replace the torque converter on my 2015 suburban and this video will definitely help.
You bet! Glad the video can be of help.
Hope you put the stock tips back on. That will complete the look
Definitely will do that
Im in the same boat right now smdh
Mines are going on stay on for couple minutes, then go on again and then couple minutes after go off then I get the malfunction light for both lights. Idk if if need to code it out or what else could be..
I'm not sure. Did you purchase the ones in the description?
The torque converter clutch or TCC is programmed from the factory to never completely lock up which is what causes the TCC to prematurely wear out and put all that friction material into the rest of the transmission and clog things up and destroy the pump and then cause the rest of the troubles. Replace the torque converter and make sure you reprogram the transmission so it either locks up fully or not at all. Most will like if it still locks in 5th and 6th gears but for myself I recommend no lockup in any gear. Add a transmission cooler and remove transmission thermostat. Best of luck. Great video, fun to watch.
I'll definitely look into that, thanks for the input!
What size lift is on the truck?
3.5 RC. Have the install video on my channel.
I would have trashed them and went with speed engineering headers. Now u got flow restrictions.. no good
I don't think so, truck runs great.
I bought my 335is two years ago from a guy who botched the VRSF relocation kit for the exact same spot, different reasons but same hose. I used to just manage the slow leak but eventually gained some tools/skills and tried to fix it myself. You’ll never guess what kept leaking. Couldn’t find anyone dealing with this specific area until now. I can’t thank you enough, at least now I have a plan that I know can work to be a perm fix. You are the man 🤝🏽🙏🏽
I'm glad the video was a help.
I put jba headers $1700 new on my 2016 gmc and they fit perfect with no modification at all
If I was you I'd be extremely disappointed if they didn't.
That’s a lie bbk headers fit like a glove on my SS
You could have easily made 2 long videos out of it! Clean and repair. If you want to drive the car yourself for longer, you should do something with the headlights. Any coating against UV. I did it 4 years ago, but it didn't last. Things become dull and yellowish again...
Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely look into a ceramic coating.
What audi did the coolant hose you used on the thermostat come off of? I wanna do this on mine but would rather not cap it off so i can keep proper flow. Im trying to find the connector you used
I believe they were all off a 2007 audi A4
What screen is that on his truck?
It's just the factory screen
If you want real gains take that engine cover off and put it in the trash. IAT will drop at least 10deg. The rest is a waste with stock turbos.
Really!? Might need to test that theory.
Question .. do is it possible to tear down while still in the car bay? Don’t have access to a lift to pull the engine out atm?
Absolutely
I personally would have replaced that starter ring gear as they are prone to cracking and also installed the transmission thermostat valve kit. I did on my 2018 silverado. It pretty much runs around 145 degrees now. Itleats the fluid run to the cooler ALL of the time.
Will definitely do the thermostat soon, thanks for the heads up.
Now I am curious which one of you would win in a truck race..lol
It would be close, but I bet his would win
Sounds like you found a great deal on those down pipes. Looks like you are almost at 2k subs....congrats on the hard work!
Appreciate the kind words! I'm stoked to be building this channel.
Now you need larger turbos..haha
Maybe someday
I’ve installed a decent bit of aftermarket parts on cars headers included yes most the time they require modifications but the headers you have were really just designed bad you shouldn’t have to do that to make a part fit even with the wrong headers I bought for a different variant for my Silverado they mostly fit it was engine off set that caused them to not fit properly both of the headers cost $100 the headers you got are possibly defective
I'm not really sure, they could have been a bad set, but we got them to work.
The intercooler piping is a bitch .I Got the AMS turbo inlet pipes, the mishimoto intercooler, and mishimoto hot and cold side piping . Freaking pain in the ass to install . I ended up removing my wheels and fender lining to make it an easier install but gawd damn it was annoying lol. The truck definitely breathes easier now with everything. I wish I had gone with a dual filter intake , I have the roush cai because it's carb legal, but it's funny because the ams turbo inlet pipes aren't lol . I'll probably get a dual filter cai in the future even though it probably won't make a huge difference. It just looks better and probably gets a little more sound out of it.
At least your tools hit the ground 🤣
lol
Ayyyeeee!🤌🏽 I bought my long tubes from Walmart, I thought I was just getting the headers but it came with cats and y pipe for 150. I was actually surprised and still haven’t installed them😅😅
Walmart's got some killer dealz
Had my 6L80 tranny rebuild about 3 months ago. Upgraded to heavy duty flex plate and Billet torque converter since I pull an RV. Not that much weight on the RV but still wanted more strength on torque converter
where did you get your wheel studs men?? cant fit my new mags!

My Instagram is in my bio if you want to dm me
What did he say he would recommend after every other oil change, with the metal ring above oil filter?
I was talking about the oil cooler seal/O-ring. If you take a 24mm (I think), you can remove that hollow bolt in the center. That will allow you to pull the oil cooler down and replace the O-ring that sits behind it. It's about the same size as the oil filter seal, although, it usually comes in orange. This seal/O-ring is a pretty common leak on most Nissan engines with this type of oil cooler.
@@rosstrittler ok, Thank you! I will check it out. Getting ready to do my 1st oil change on my 2023 Titan xd. Not sure if mine has the cooler on there.
Still sounds like a small v6
More turbo whistle was all I was hoping for
@@rosstrittler oooo.. couldn't tell the difference
cool video
Thanks
