I have been watching video after video of different cargo van conversions, and I have to say that yours is by far the best I've come across yet!
@@jbovenzi Awesome!! So happy to hear that. Study it and take notes of the things you like (assuming you’re going to be building one yourself). Appreciate you taking the time to check it out!
Very nicely done for a first build
You are inspiration bro. Thank you
@@scottswain5865 Appreciate you boss 🙏🏽
Thank you for this beautiful/ creative build. This is basically my dream home. Today our generation is realizing that this is all that we need to live life on our own terms. Thank you bro.
@@scottswain5865 I appreciate those kind words bro 🙏🏽 Yes, you’re totally right. You actually don’t need to own much in this world. In fact, personally I’ve found the less things, the more freedom you have. I’m all about living my life on my terms and not waiting until I hopefully make it to 65+ years old 😬.. Small build like this, and your free to roam 😎 Stay up Scott 🙏🏽
What type of diesel heater do your have?
@@Troy-y5b It’s “Vevor” , which I purchased from Walmart I believe. Basically a cheap diesel heater but it’s been GREAT.. Wouldn’t use any other heating solution. .. The brand of the heater, they are all cheap and from China so it doesn’t really matter.
@whoiskyran1446 thanks I appreciate the post. Take care.
Easily the best build I’ve ever seen💥 Great job!!
@@darcypearson2606 AWESOME!!! I love hearing things like that.. I put my heart into that build so I’m glad people can see the effort. Thank you for checking out the video!!
I enjoyed your video. Very entertaining and informative. You did a great job on your trailer.
@@jimmyatnip6768 Thank you very much much Jimmy!! I appreciate that for sure. And thank YOU for checking it out and leaving me some feedback. Much appreciated.
I rode the CA coast in 2020 in the opposite direction as I live in Riverside County. I enjoyed your video seeing all the places that I remember. Happy Trails.
@@josephhaddakin7095 Oh awesome, then you personally know the beauty (and possibly the struggles) of a trip like that. Haha .. Certainly was a fund one, and I’m looking forward to the next one. Thanks for checking out the video!
I feel like the most important thing, that we wanna know you left out... How much did it cost you? 🤔😂
@@steb0ne It was MUCH cheaper than a house .. lol .. And much cheaper than paying for hotels and airbnb’s to do a similar type of traveling.. But yeah, I need to do an updated video at some point and break that down cause you’re not the only person to ask that.
Really enjoyed your video! A buddy and I road from Sausalito to Santa Monica in the Summer of '74. No helmet, bike shorts or snap-in pedals. Things have definitely improved.
@@brianwhite1189 Haha, yes things have changed quite a lot it sounds!! lol .. Thanks for checking out the video

@@TrudyLetson Thank you! I appreciate you checking it out
What was the total weight after the build was completed?
I want to know also
@@yamatocoaching7864 don’t have an exact number but trailer alone is about 7.5-7.8k lbs (without 100 gallon water tank filled)
Do you have a new vehicle you're living in full time now that you're selling this trailer?
@@MagicCarpetRide8669 I’ve been out of the country doing some international travel this year so really haven’t spent much time in the trailer .. I plan to be on the road for the foreseeable future so it makes the most sense to sell it at this time.. 😢 A bitter sweet feeling for sure.
@@whoiskyran1446where’d you put the dirt bikes? I can only assume the back of the truck. Absolutely gorgeous build though!
@@kegsv108 Yes exactly, right in the back of the truck bed. That has worked great for us. I would not travel in this trailer without my dirt bike, haha. It’s just too much fun.
impressive, thanks!

@@robertgullickson8758 Thank you much!
Wow, you did an outstanding job! Did you start with a steel frame trailer or aluminum trailer? Have you weighed it yet? What kind of vehicle do you tow it with? And finally, why did you choose that kind of toilet instead of a regular trailer one with a black water tank?
@@powskier Thank you! 🙏🏽 Steel frame trailer, yes. Weighs about 7,500 loaded (without water) ish. Tow with 2500 series, gas engine. This has worked great for us, even up mountain passes. With a compost toilet we do not have to dump our waste at a sewage. Finding places to dump can be tricky sometimes. Also requires you to often tow your trailer every 4 to 8 days to dump. With our compost toilet, I have to switch it out about once a month. The solids go in to a trash bag and thrown in a normal trash. Easy. Compost is the way to go especially when boondocking.
There's a lot ofn public land in some western states but a lot of states don't have it and if they dothey don't allow dispersed camping. Can you do a video on how you do it.
I don't see how you let the back doir down with all that crap mounted to it
@@powskier All that crap mounted to the back door… 🤔 Did you watch the video? 😅.. The back door has a pull-up bar, and stabilizer legs mounted to the outside… That has no effect on lowering the door.
Great build! Cargo trailer conversions are a great alternative to van builds.
@@razorwired130 Thank you! I totally agree. Super practical in a lot of situations. We love ours and the freedom it’s given us 🙏🏽 Thanks for checking out the video
“Open the gray tank and let that water rush out”?? How much longer do you think you are going to have boondocking spots during dumb stuff like that? Kitchen grey water is nasty.
Nothing wrong with dumping gray tanks on BLM land if you are using bio-degradeable detergent/soap and using strainers. Tent campers have been doing this for hundreds of years. Chill out.
@@Fearlesslikeahoneybadger Kitchen gray water is not the worst thing for this planet 😂 Fossil fuel, plastic usage, electric waste are all things im sure you expel in your normal life, way worse than some water with grease and chicken broth going into a pile of dirt. Thanks for the 2 cents though 👍🏼
@@whoiskyran1446 who said the planet? I'm talking about the fact that BLM land is getting strictier and fed up with people like you making a mess of water or thrash and leaving it behind. Do you let that nasty water run thru a Walmart parking lot? I. A few months there goes the sign for no more overnight parking. You people need to take responsibility for your actions.
well done. cool stuff.
@@dvshong794 Thank you!! 🙏🏽
What is the travel weight of the trailer?
@@PopCornSheffield-ow4vm roughly 7,500 all loaded (no water) I think

@@jdanders1 Certainly not a “little bit of time, or hard work” 😅 but yes absolutely worth it in the end, IMO. Things can get pricey quick so work out your budget first and have fun. Enjoy the process 😊 Thanks for checking out the video!
Something to be very proud of and a great learning experience that will serve you a lifetime.
@@rickhiggins6521 Thank you kind Sir, I totally agree. A lot learned through the experience. I’m itching to build something else in the future! 🤞🏽 Thank you for watching the video

@@geemcdee Thank you 🙏🏽 😊
How long will the AC run at night without a generator?
Good question, this kinda liying a55 youtuber always give you an idea like those all things can be run only with solar panel.
@@61462bubb Mini split absolutely can run fully off solar (ours does). First off though, we follow good weather generally, so we aren’t places where we need cold ac all through the night. Depends on how long you run the AC and what settings. This model, ECO mode (73 degree setting) pulls about 400 watts. We have about 4,800 watt hours of battery bank, so run the math for an estimate off that. Hope that helps.
Very nice job, young man! Great thought process for the setup. This took a bit of time.

The only thing I would do differently is to put a little distance between the stove and the refrigerator, when you're cooking there is hundreds of degrees of heat on the outside of the fridge, that will make the fridge work harder to stay cold inside. Other than that, you did an amazing job.

@@user-roadwander THANK YOU!! 🙏🏽
You're doing a great job on your conversion. Some very creative ideas. Here are some of my concerns. 100 gallons of fresh water is 800 lbs and the grey water is 320 lbs of weight. Watch your trailer balance and hitch weight. Humidity in your trailer is not your friend. I would recommend that you use a 12 volt Ecoflow air conditioner that takes the humidity out of the trailer. Also allow ventilation for your electrical system and batteries so that they don't overheat. Keep up the good work, you have given me several ideas for my own project.
