Welcome to Big Banana Productions! Here, we focus on documenting the operations of steam locomotives from around the United States, and showcase what makes each one so unique and special. These fire-breathing beauties are mechanical masterpieces, that helped to build our great country into what we know and love today. Every steam locomotive has their own sense of character and personality, much like we as human beings do, and one of our main goals is to present each locomotive going about the tasks they were built for, along with discovering just how well they capture that old-time flavor of a bygone era. From moguls to decapods, from branch line engines to mainline superstars and from Geared Logging Engines to Narrow Gauge Steam, we will have you covered for great steam railroad-related entertainment!
Big Banana Productions: The Best of 2024
2024 was an outstanding year that brought about a great series of prolific events for us at Big Banana Productions. In what has become the staple for each passing year, 2024 saw us expanding our footprints to greater extents, as we traveled across the United States to many unique places, to witness the power and glory of steam locomotives in action. With the arrival of 2025 steadily approaching, it’s time to showcase all the best moments that this year had to offer. In 2024, we saw 11 different steam locomotives in 7 different states, ranging from a trio of Southern Railway veterans in Tennessee & Georgia, to a high stepping Pacific in the sugar cane fields of south Florida, to a pair of Van Sweringen Berkshires in the glorious Midwest Fall Colors. We were also on hand to engage in the excitement of big steam fighting up the steep grades of the Pennsylvania mountains and the long awaited return of steam to New York state. So come along for the ride with us, as the Big Banana Railfan Proudly Presents: “The Best of 2024!”

the four steam locomotives im really looking forward to meeting someday in the Midwest are CNW 1385 UP 3985 UP 5511 and Southern 401 the and other Good news is i found out that Milwaukee road 261 Will be pulling lots of Exursions this year in 2025 the plan is for the 1385 is that its going to be delivered to Mid continent in 2025 and what i heard it will be running in 2026 and for UP 3985 and UP 5511 both of those locomotives are still Being restored in Silvis at the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America lots of progress are being made on those Engines lots of Big Steam for the Future
