WARNING: You ABSOLUTELY need to wear a respirator when doing all the things he is doing. Especially with Bondo. You need gloves and respirator. DO NOT HANDLE with your hands Bondo and not wear a respirator. I hope people see this message and don't follow this guys example.
Great videos. Keep it up. You've got a wide range of skills. What do you do for work?
Im actually in IT. I am in Network/Telecommunications.
Applying Bondo with no gloves is crazyyyyy 😂
Looks good might try this on obiwans lightsaber im making
I’ve just watched part 1 & 2 is there a part 3 🥺
been very busy lately with moving and building new shop so havent finished it, but im getting close to resuming.
@@simblarosh4901 I look forward to seeing it! 🤩
@@simblarosh4901 will there be any casts of the helm for sale?
Thank you for sharing ! Man that saves me sssooo much time and money !! Your a star :-)
Thanks Man! I want to get back into doing videos. Just been extremely busy
Is there a download for this?
Do you have any other videos of that? I would like to know what you used for the needles. :) Awesome work. I love it!!!!
Hello where I get the design of the helmet in stl
Hey man! Would you be able to print me a Needler (no paint etc, just need the parts printed) ? I am trying to get all my groomsman their fav. Halo weapon as gifts and I cannot find a decent priced one anywhere.
If you can let me know price
I don't really do commissions because I really don't have the time. I work full time and really do this for me a a hobby. But I will say that 3d printers have come down in price quite a bit. So it might be worth getting one!
im about to start a similar needler project, great video man. i used to paint cars so that helps
Hey do u have a link to the acrylic sheets? It would be helpful for other people who are trying to make a helmet as cool as that.
Can't wait for the new vids 👍 really nice shop
try elmers wood filler but not hand spread it instead water it down and shoot it through a paint gun or airbrush
Great video & I dig your shirt. I been to Pigeon Forge a lot. You're from around there? :)
No I live in Louisiana, went up there for a trip with friends... drank a little! Haha
Very useful, thank you.
Great tip. Right now I have a printed part I want to make a mold from so I can cast more, and this trick is just what I was looking for to smooth the part before I make the mold. Thanks for sharing. Oh, and the needler looks awesome too. Great job.
Thanks!
can you cover your 3d printer
I have a video on both sla and fdm printers, I think I showed my two..
Another hot tip for preventing your sandpaper from clogging up is to wet sand with a few drops of dish soap added to a jar of water. Dip your paper in there every few minutes to keep it clean and lubricated. Be sure to get sandpaper that is built for wetsanding though.
Thank you, loved this and very helpful!!
Bondo is great for large gaps, holes and cracks, it's not really meant for thin light work like smoothing. That spot putty is great stuff, but I wouldn't recommend it for filling large seams or holes, it is fragile and doesn't take much for it to crack and flake if it's to think or heavy.
i shave with a razor, and i cut small pieces of plastic with an x-acto knife...
You make it look so easy!!
as to your question, Hell yes I would like to see more 3D related videos.
Thank you for this tutorial!
Hey man, excited to see you work on projects in the new place! Love your videos - some of the best advice I’ve seen and super relaxing to watch
Hey bud, thanks for the comment! Greatly appreciated, I can't wait to be in the new shop as well.
I’ve loved your videos so far! Keep them coming!
Freaking amazing project man! I actually use the putty over pretty much my whole piece as well, it works great. The only problem is it stinks like hell when you use that much. Glad I found your channel. Liked and subbed.
Thanks Bro!
Extremely helpful!
Did you ever cover the painting process? I couldn't find a video covering your painting process on this.
This is the most underrated UA-cam channel I’ve ever seen
Wow! Thanks!
This is an awesome video. Thank you.
lol I thought it was a pair of pliers
where do I get the 3d print file?
Looks amazing. What type of paint did you use to get the metallic finish?
Subscribe been searching all over the internet for post production. So far your stuff is the best! Simple and no need to buy expensive stuff.
Whoa!!! Thanks for the compliment man, greatly appreciated. Have fun building!!
You can make that a seamless mold by 1.) making the bottom opening as wide as the helmet 2.)laying on your rubber skin as usual 3.) making a two part fibeglass mold. No seams.
Yes, but I didn't want a large inlet for the plastic, it makes the slush casting much easier. Thanks for your notes!
First!?
Omg pick me please!
this was grate! I would have been happy with the 3d print, but you went so much further!
Hey dude, could upgrade the handle? Sorry for my bad English!!
That is very cool. Thanks for the info!
When you add the first putty and sand it then throw on the filler again do you sand it after or do you just throw the second coat of putty on ?
Putty then sand again
Excellent video man! I'm watching along as im sanding down my master chief helmet. When do you plan on releasing the painting video? I'm curious to see your process
Thanks joe, I've been busy lately (life happens) but I've got a video I want to put out on my paint process. Keep an eye out for it! Thanks for the kind words
do you NEED the sponge?
Probably not, could do it with paper towel... sponge just gets in the corners a little better
cheers for printing my 3d model! looks Great!
Ben where do we get the files
@@TheCyclingArtist Thingiverse
there all there free
Thanks for the comparison, good content.
I just tried this and it's great! But is there anyway to get the Bondo off the sandpaper? I've used a lot of sandpaper by now for such a small part. I tried flicking it and used a razor blade to it and that partially worked. Other than that great tutorial!
I like the little brown shit stains you added lmao jk good vid!
Great tutorial I’m trying to create commander rexs DC17s and I have one just finished I’m planning on doing an all black coat and I want to weather it grey would I do it where I cover it in grey and do the sponge and towel method
Yea I think so!
