I use to rip the Blade MCPX but after it failed in me all the time, some people recommended the OMP M1 and M2. I bought them both at the same time and have to say that what I have been flying from Blade can’t compare to OMP at all. They are so far apart on the spectrum that it is not a fair comparison. The problem here is that the mediocre brand is as expensive as the better brand.

    Hi! Considering that you used many Blade helis, i wonder what do you think of crash resistance of Blade 150S, 180, 230? I want something what i can safely crash into some grass during 3d tricks practice without worrying much about damage. I guess 150S will be the best due to smaller size, but are there any chances that 180 or even 230 will hold it that well too? I already have a micro with 120mm blades, so i wanted to get something bigger but at the same time small enough to handle crashes. In case if you are going to suggest me OMP or Goosky, i avoid them because i prefer the classic style with main gear reduction instead of a direct drive stuff, i prefer light weight instead of heavy 'pancake' motors.

    • @PurePressureProFL
      @PurePressureProFL 3 місяці тому

      Standard m2v2 boom. It is a definitive performance improvement and it locks so good when you do tail stops. It also balances the CG perfectly on the nose heavy m2v2 which makes a difference you can feel during loops and rolls. The M2V2 is still my favorite helicopter due to the head design and shorter main shaft. The new helis don’t have it.

    7:43 You're giving "Down" elevator, technically. I see you made it work. I'm having a super hard time trying to get mine to have a stable hover. Have to give a little right cyclic at first to hold it steady, but as the flight goes on, having to shift to left cyclic, then by the end of the flight, my right stick is pinned all the way to the left, and I can't even make the heli go left at this point. HH Customer support is telling em "This is an aggressive machine and this is normal".. I call BS..

    • @AnDr1LLox
      @AnDr1LLox 4 місяці тому

      Yes, down elevator! When the heli requires the left aileron correction, are you on “Safe Mode”? I could never fly these Blade helis on Safe mode because it required correction throughout the flight just like you. Even though I don’t need safe mode, I do like to have all the features available to me and in this heli it was impossible due to increased correction needed as the battery drains. When I switch off the safe mode, it needs no correction and flies better. If you are having this issue with the safe mode already off, then it could be a vibration issue. The best way to get rid of vibration is to dynamically balance your blades with them installed on the helicopter as you feel for vibrations when you spool it up while safely holding it above your head while you hold it by the sides of the frame. This could be dangerous so please be careful. Add a tiny piece of tape to the balance point of a blade and spool again to see if the vibration was reduced. If it increases, try the other blade. Once you find the right blade to balance, it will be a matter of trial and error by adding or removing tape until it no longer vibrates like before. Good luck and please let me know how it works for you. I haven’t flown Blade for a couple of years due to their issues. I bought a OMP M2 V2 years ago and it flies just perfect consistently and needs very little maintenance. It is crash worthy and parts are very affordable.

      Look at this video to see my M2 fly. ua-cam.com/video/7JMWWST1vR0/v-deo.htmlsi=iqFKVB-mWzbA-6vd I recommend that you get a OMP or Goosky and get rid of all your past helicopter frustrations. These helicopters are a work of art and designed to be the best quality rather than trying to save money by giving you plastic parts. The high quality aluminum parts used on these helicopters are crafted to perfection and are more affordable than the crappy brittle plastic that blade uses.

    Here's the thing . . . , not all "Pilots?" have your skill level which is why I used the Question Mark. The majority of pilots who will be purchasing Blade Helis most likely are not SAB Customers also, if you get my point. They won't require high performance servos that an experienced Pilot would use on a SAB Heli. The Servos it comes with are used to help keep the price of the Heli Down and also provide a respectable amount of performance for the Heli as well.

    • @AnDr1LLox
      @AnDr1LLox 10 місяців тому

      You are right. I agree with that point of view. When this video was made, I had recently reached a new advanced level and was flying more aggressively. It is true that a high percentage of the Blade owners won’t fly this way. The thing I complained about on this video is the fact that even though the servo is made to keep cost down during the original purchase; when it is time to replace it, Spektrum wants us to pay high end servo pricing. The aluminum servos on this video are of much better quality and specs at 40% more affordable than the original Spektrum servos. I want to thank you for watching my videos and taking the time to comment. Please subscribe.

Now i'm not sure to whom believe :)

    • @AnDr1LLox
      @AnDr1LLox Рік тому

      The helicopter is not bad and it is true that it is locked in. It is a great performer. The problem with this heli is that the servos eventually give up in flight causing more damages. The problem is that I have only had this problem with the servos they include in their kits. The servos that replaced the Spektrum ones on this video are over 11 years old from another kit and were flown hard for those 11 years and are still performing great. I’m not ok with electronics failing in the air on a machine so dangerous as a helicopter. Also please keep in mind that the way I fly is hard on the servos and most people that buy this model do not push the servos to their limit as I might have done.

      @@AnDr1LLox oh i see, thanks for the details, yes i'm not going to smack hard 3d, i'm still learning and looking for a next heli machine because i got bored of my mini heli (XK K100 with 100mm blades). I rather prefer some soft floaty flight with some 3d figures still, so maybe servos would not fail that fast :) i'm rather worried that in some other video i saw how some 'slight' crash caused shaft or grips bending, so i wonder what your damage usually was in crashes of this heli?

    • @AnDr1LLox
      @AnDr1LLox Рік тому

      @@cutefoxRC usually when the Fusion 360 crashes, the blades break, the servo links bend forcing the servo arm, the main gear strips, the head links to the grips also bend or fly off. The main shaft is pretty resilient and not always bends as long as you are fast on the throttle hold switch.

    Whats the top speed?

    • @AnDr1LLox
      @AnDr1LLox Рік тому

      I have never measured the speed. On it, I have the smallest spur gear of 46t and the biggest pinion that fits in there. In order to tune away some of the bad habits of excess power, I have used Castle Creation tuning software with a Bluetooth link. The result is very predictable throttle, high speed controllable wheelies and it is nice on the gears. I have different profiles set up for different things. I have a drag racing profile with torque control to be able to hit full throttle on an instant with CHEAT enabled for an increase in timing of about 30degrees which makes it really fast at a specific rpm and achieve full speed with no wheelies,perfect control ability. I have a high torque profile for bashing with low timing and efficient consumption of power with lots of wheelies comparable to stock. For my kids I have a profile for my 2 year old at 10% power so my toddler can learn without destroying the Maxx. I also have another profile at 60% for my 10 year old in which it pops safe rolling wheelies without overpowering the gears. I know I didn’t answer your question but it is much faster than a stock Maxx. I am able to put all the power to the ground on command without most of the flips and rolls that most people have on a stock Maxx. The sensored setup really helps a lot on how the car feels and drives. The tires on this setup are the best tires I have found and are very durable. This tires are going on 3 years old and have a lot of thread left.

    I appreciate you're honesty. I feel kind of bad now in a way, as I'm still a novice, and learned on an OMP M1 and M2, and it sounds like I might've been spoiled flying these as my learning helis, and I'm in for disappointment with these blades. Since I'm still a novice, I haven't really developed a flying "Style" yet. I went on somewhat of a buying spree, and purchased a few Blade helis. I have a brand new 360 still sitting in the box, and from everything I've read, the first thing you want to do is to CHANGE out the servos. Many people have stated this. Seems everyone is using the KST DS215MG v3.0's for cyclic, and a Torq CL0306T for the rudder. One Blade I'm about fly, is the 230S V2, NOT the SMART version. It was used, but as people lie, I was told, "Only 2 flights". Well when it arrived, the tail blade was missing. Oh well. Going over the pre-flight, everything seems fine, but when I hooked up the battery to check blade alignment it was way off, which I'm sure is to be expected. I'm going to align the blades within the next few days, as I have to work. I'm hoping the 230, which everyone seems to say is a good blade heli, lives up to that. Again, thank you for the info on the 360. I've subbed to your channel. Wish me luck with the 230S V2.

      The mCPxBL2, 230s, are good for first heli... 180 is nice... and the Fusion 270 was really nice Blade heli, but no more availabe. After 360 I think that I'm also done with this brand. I'm rookie 6 monts of experience, but i'm really disapointed about this heli, even on 4s pack.

    Have you figured out how to unlock or jailbreak as they say the 6250 so we can use it in another heli build??? I know other air RX's can be unlocked and reset to open stock but how bout the 6250? Or can you just put it in something anyway and go with it. I have a couple of fusion 360's and just can't bring myself to toss em out especially with a $225 fbl unit in each one of them. I bet if I was building a Align 470 or something of similar in size I could just take one out and install it in the 470 and it would work.....what's your thinking on that idea??

    HeliFreak, I have found the same thing with spektrum servo's. Two of my cyclic servo's died and were so hot they buned my finger. I'm sure that's not right. So my question is, on your Fusion 360 what brand and size of servo did you use to replace the 3 cyclic's with? And do you have to measure the size to get the holes to line up for mounting? The tail servo seems fine for now but I'm not taking any chances. I don't really want to buy 3 new servo's just to find they can't be mounted. Thanks in advance

    I've got a question that I hope you can enlighten me on. It's not about the 360 but the 480 with the fc6250 flb unit. I had a tail rotor servo drift and someone told me to go into my NX8 and go to foward programming and choose ---- calibrate!!!!! Well that caused the flybarless unit to be stuck in the failsafe mode. Or at least that what the flashing light indicates. Do you know what to do to get it unstuck or back to flying ready? I wish now I didn't do the calibration but hopefully I didn't kill the unit. Help a brother out.

    • @AnDr1LLox
      @AnDr1LLox Рік тому

      The unit is fine and is not bad. It is kind of hard to explain but I will do my best. When you calibrate the transmitter, you will have to reprogram the FBL unit. What the FBL was used to read as the normal values are now a different input due to the transmitter now sending a variation of what it was before. Essentially, the FBL unit may be reading an input you are not making. It is because the calibration has changed what the FBL thought was 0 value. What I mean is that before the calibration, the FBL unit thought the value before the calibration was zero even though it really wasn’t. After the calibration, the FBL unit now thinks there is a small input being made all the time while the sticks are at rest at 0 value. I will share a video with you that will fix this problem. Please follow it with detail. As far as the tail servo, with this FBL unit you have to make sure it is at 0 pitch mechanically when the FBL is powered up. If you go to forward programming and go to tail adjust there will be a setting that allows you to adjust this. Tail Sub trim is the name of it and it allows for adjustment on the tail in an electronic way in order to get around the mechanical setup. I always prefer mechanical accuracy but it is much harder to do.

      @@AnDr1LLox Thankyou very much for the reply very informative. I am going to watch the video now. I didn't cailbrate the TX I calibrated the flybarless unit in foward programming. I understand that calibrating the transmitter would cause that effect. The tail servo would actually drift to the inside and be at full tilt. I did go into sub trim and adjust that but I thought that was not the correct way so someone suggested to calibrate the flb. Man did that piss me off. I guess I can just reprogram the unit if it lets me do a factory reset, I havent done that yet, so you think I should?

    HI HF, Just sub'd. I'm just getting started in RC helis. About 2 years of practice. Doing my first kit build right now. Lots to learn. I have the F-360 (on 6s, not the cheesy 3s they offer now) and I appreciate your opinion. After owning 4 different Blade brand helis, and lots of NuBe crashes, I too have spent thousands on replacement parts. I actually decided to learn to repair the gears in them. There is only one gear that usually fails, yet they sell you the whole set...Still cheaper than the whole servo. I think I'll take your advice and stop buying from them. Enjoyed watching your skills. I hope to work up to that level soon. Thanks!
