i'm a star seller, 5-star rated (most of my items are small and inexpensive, ranging from $1.50-20 or so) and i NEVER ask for reviews i send a small thank you note with a 10% off code, along with a small free gift (maybe a small crystal tumble or charm, depending what they ordered) i have over 2,500 5-star reviews and i have never once asked for a review make the experience good, and etsy's pestering for reviews will be more than enough, i think it turns people off from writing a 5 star review if you ask for it i've gotten "please leave a 5 star review!" notes in orders ive purchased from various shops and various websites and personally, i feel it makes me LESS likely to leave a review, and LESS likely to trust the other reviews other customers have left for the shop the next time i go to buy something. i think the best way to do it, if you feel like you need to ask for reviews, is something like *"did you enjoy your order? please consider leaving a review for my shop, it really helps me out! did something go wrong? please contact me and i'll do what i can to make it right"* that doesn't pressure for 5 stars, and it reminds customers that they can contact you and you're willing to help them resolve any issues they may have (shipping problems, broken, not what they expected, whatever it is) i've had just under 7,500 sales (around 3,500 orders) so i'm not getting a review for each sale, but it's a pretty good percentage

I know this video was made years ago, but I just had to comment and say how greatly helpful this video is, thanks! I myself have an Etsy shop, but have struggled in making more sales - just about all the sales I did make were sheerly out of blind luck, but hopefully that will all change.

How can I get on Etsy when banned for no reason with no explanation

I just went out on a limb and set up my shop a few days ago. Im still building and adding products but doesn't look like it's getting noticed. I'm printing my photography to a wide variety of household items and sounds like i could use some ideas on streamlining the Niche. Any useful suggestions? Much appreciated if so. (The Lakeside Lens)

I'm confused about the products that are sold on Etsy. Aren't they supposed to be handmade? Like, do you make your own bath bombs? I see crystals, yarn, all kinds of stuff that are not handmade being sold on there now. Did they change their rules?

I just opened my Etsy shop and only have two listings because I have to photo shoot the rest of my products, but I have a candle business launching officially the website this month, but I wanted to upload some of my candles and candle supplies on Etsy and I’ve only made one sell. 😂 in one month. With ads, I hope that once I add more candles. Things change. When you said you replace your incomes selling six bath bombs a day how is that possible?

Hi! Thank you so much for making this video it’s so helpful! I’ve had my Etsy shop for a while but relaunched it about a year ago. I’ve made 13 sales in that time it seems like people only buy when my items are ridiculously under priced. What can I do? I make earrings but specialize in crochet earrings (so I think that’s my niche? Or is “crochet earrings” still to broad of a niche?)

Thank you very much for sharing your years of experience with us. Much appreciated. Subscribed. If you have any information about creating tiered pricing based on quantity ordered, I’d appreciate it. Example: 1-100 = $4.00 101-200 = $3.50 etc.

I recently opened up my shop on Etsy and sell dessert candles. I have work very hard to fully optimized my shop made sure I have all 10 specific images that look professional, with video, did SEO, long tail tags, features, detailed descriptions with links, took picture of cute gift box packaging, and I have a constant sale with free shipping, automatic messages with discounts, I reply quickly, etc. Several of my listings are on the first page next to the biggest competitors. I ship my items very quickly with tracking from Etsy, I have 5 star reviews and now I quality for a purple star seller after I have 90 days from my first sell. I do my marketing on social media which I dread, but I still do it because some customers have found me on Facebook, instagram, google and Pinterest.

Yeah, definitely niching down is very important. I’ve had a “general store” on Etsy for over 10 years. I’ve sold many different products during that time. Now Etsy doesn’t know WTF to do with me or where to put me in the searches. Consequently my store never took off in a big way. I have maybe three items that sell okay and keep me on the platform.
