Sometimes due to bullying, illness, abuse, stalking, etc etc.. people go in to shadows. Their self esteem broken and feel like their worth or rights were taken away. They have been made to feel like their dignity is destroyed and no matter what the outside mirror says inside they have been made to feel hideous do to others crossing boundaries unwelcome or taking their rights away. This song is for the people who feel like that, people like me.
If a person is in a situation in which their boundaries are too deeply invaded, they may lose the ability to feel a sense of self worth. Sometimes their voice becomes completely silenced and in their violation they hide away. Our brains are wired to protect us and to keep us safe. Sometimes, they have the unintended aftereffect of keeping us barely living a meaningful life. This is what I’m struggling with now. Others crossing boundaries, reactivating my illness and now trying to learn to let others in a little.
Our inner child shows up in our present fears, our emotional reactivity, and our escapism. For me music, art and photography is my escapism and I’m working like hell to use it to heal. Using this, escapism, is the practice of letting go and learning to love from a place of giving rather than a place of fear.
