Why You Need To Play RKGK/Rakugaki RIGHT NOW!
Released on May 22nd, 2024, RKGK/Rakugaki is a single player 3D platformer by indie developer, Wabisabi Games. Valah and the RKGK crew take it to Mr. Buff to restore color and life to the citizens of Cap City with graffiti! I got this game, and it surprised me a lot that it ended up becoming one of my favorite games of the year! However, I was surprised to see that this game has very little content or people talking about it online, and I want to change that! I want to tell you all why you should play RKGK and show why this game is so good!

The Big Slop Crew Party in Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
It is nuts that Sega is de-listing a bunch of great classic titles. Luckily i have most of the games on the list. Im hoping that these amazing titles are put in a new compilation. Also would b cool if Crazy Taxi 2 is made available on Steam some day.
Would love to see a new compilation with new games that haven't gotten any new re-release on modern platforms. But I highly doubt it.
Ok, but the real question is... What mod gives you the bike with the cat in front!?
That's part of DripRemix. It's in the examples folder thats provided on the page for the mod
@ Ohh sweet. By the way, a lot of people are saying that the keybinds for dripremix don’t work. Have you encountered any of these issues?
@PYR0XIII I have not personally.
I can't unhear re voice "YEAH HOHO DAMN WOOHOO"
This looks great and you showed a lot I haven't seen great video
Glad you enjoyed :)
Do I need to finish the game first to see the mods? I’m in chapter 1 and I downloaded a character mod and I don’t see them.
If you wanna see characters, you gotta make it to chapter 2 so you can unlock the cypher so you can switch to the added custom characters
Sega: weir tired of reaching out to Yawl boomers so bump you.🤣
Sega wanna move to the future.
I wonder who recommended this game to you they must be pretty cool . . .
He's a chill guy for that, honestly. Putting me onto this drip game.
This was not a good game. I had the misfortune of playtesting it. One of the most generic games I have ever played. There was so much wrong with it.
That's very interesting. I am curious to hear your perspective on it. For me it surprised me, but I would like to know what was is it about this game that you didn't vibe with?
@RisingSonic17 the cyberpunk theme is so played out at this point that it's very generic. The dialog was insufferable and annoying. The main character looked like a generic fortnite skin. The levels were all dark and boring, which looked like stock unreal engine was 5 assests. The whole point of a 3d platformer is to have a visually interesting world to explore, and this game had the most bland. The gameplay was really bad. It's like they looked at games like jet set and sunset and went. Oh, that game has spray paint that game has rail grinding and added it into their game without understanding what made those gameplay elements fun. Grinding is incredibly boring as it is just a glorified cutscene. I think maybe out of the whole game, I only found 3 levels slightly fun because they tried doing something barely different from the others. The whole gimmick of getting a combo and changing the art style is barely noticeable. I didn't realize they switched art styles until I was almost done with the game. The movement is incredibly rigid as well, which is one of the worst things to have in a 3d platformer. The whole fight back against the corporation is so overplayed and dumb at this point.
@@PolyGarrett Hmmmmm, okay. 1. Sure, I can give you the cyberpunk aesthetic is overplayed. We have been a lot of games with that style that didn't turn out great. So, I can understand the feeling of not liking it. It didn't particularly bother me. 2. The dialog, that's half and half. Like I said in the video, there were some lines that I did roll my eyes at. It has its misses. However, I'd say there are some genuine nice interactions between the RKGK crew when you go to speak to them in the hideout. It does bring out more of the characters personality. Also, Mr. Buff was a highlight for me. 3. Valah, yeah, she's a character design that we've seen so often that she doesn't exactly stand out. Although, the fact you can dress her up in different costumes in the game actually makes her look better than her default costume. I also think she looks really good in the animated cutscenes. But I understand, her default look isn't anything new. 4. The levels being dark and gloomy is... kinda the point. We are in a dystopian city where the life and color of everything had been sucked out. The whole point of the game is we're supposed to bring life back to the city with our graffiti. Going through mostly factories and a dark world ruled by Mr. Buff. Doesn't mean they don't try to do anything interesting with it cause there's a few levels like the Anti gravity one, the one with the shining lights on the platforms, and the mist level are creatively very different than the usual. I get what you mean and maybe the lore reason doesn't excuse the artstyle, but I think in this case it matches what the game is going for and I think it did a good job. So, I disagree with you there. 5. The Gameplay being bad is the big thing I disagree with you on. It is easily the best part of the game. Yeah, grinding is nothing more than a spectacle for the most part, but that's okay. There's nothing wrong with having breathers before getting back into the action and they are very short. Sonic does the same thing with its level design. Also, there occasions where you do have to jump for collectibles or jump to grapple something while grinding. There's nothing wrong with it being a breather though. The spraying mechanic is used for your attacks and for the screens which is your main collectible to make you progress through the game. The combat isn't very good, that I can say. However, spraying is literally a huge part of the gameplay because you need to spray those screens to unlock the boss levels in the game. Wholeheartedly disagree on controls, because this game's movement is why it is such a big factor of why the level design also meshes well. From all the air mobility options the game gives you, to the general ground movement being very responsive, and loose (without taking control away from the player). Also incentivizes replayability because of the timer requirements. So, you're encouraged to get even better with the movement, so you can be rewarded. Which, I did. At no point did I ever blame the game for ANY mistakes in terms of controls, because the game actually controlled responsively. I only would blame my own recklessness. Also, Defacer mode on the gameplay front encourages better general play and also adds on to the speedrunning aspect of achieving those time based rewards. Sure, the world getting brighter doesn't do too much, but defacer mode is a good mechanic that encourages good gameplay. 6. I mean, if you didn't like the fighting back against corporation's thing, then that's a personal preference. Me? It doesn't bore me and hey, the game does it well enough that I wasn't annoyed. TLDR; I disagree with a lot of your arguments and I think RKGK was a very good game.
Those wallpapers in the back look nice, rkgk did remind me of jsrf in a way, minus running with a crew and all.
Thank you! If you like JSR then this game might hit all the notes for you
i love the aesthetic of it, reminds me of many cyberpunk games as well as the Vanquish Soul archetype in ygo
It's so good. I love the visuals of the game so much. It just pops
because yo-yo is yo-yo
So true
Dope ass vid, needed the nostalgic trip. Miss this era of music, games and culture.
Thank you and I will always cherish those days of culture 🙏🏿
I think it will be fine. A part of me wants BRC to overshadow JSR just because Sega doesn't do anything with the series and now all of a sudden it gets announced to be in production THE SAME WEEK BOMB RUSH CYBERFUNK GETS RELEASED, YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE SEGA, BUT ITS TOO LATE. Team Reptile did it themselves. HOWEVER i also acknowledge that games take time to create, and theres the whole business side of things which makes this even more complicated. Ultimately in an "ideal" world you ask for a game to be made and its done. But we don't live in an ideal world. There are a number of reasons why Jet Set Radio didn't get that next installment sooner, but what we did get was a very excellent alternative in the same style of Jet. One that is rich with mods, the life blood of any game really. Im happy whenever JSR decides to drop, because i know ill be styln' in BRC in the meantime. My only concern now is that the next game is as fun to play as in the past games.
Just get the classic games from Gamivo. Well, just the Dreamcast games and most of the classic Sonic games.
I guess physical edition of Deamcast Collection is gonna become rare
Very rare
I am certain They will release a Sega Genesis Collection for the PS 5 with Like 80 Games for 60 $ Thats my Theory. Getting the PS 4 Sega Genesis Collection December 1. Physical for 24 $
I have the Physical sega genesis classics for my PS4
Nice! Least you had that
@@RisingSonic17 At* 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
Will the physical version still work if I buy it after the digital version is delisted?
@ yea
@@BrianBates-vi7qk thanks for reply! Might buy it physically then.
Geez Sega! if you're going to the delist them, at least be nice enough to put them on sale!
and they usually do often
@RisingSonic17 Just often?! Then what about now?!!
If I buy a CD key/Steam key from cjs-cdkeys will I get all 58 games? Because there used to be 58 games but now it shows 55 because they removed few sonic games from the bundle. Now the question is if I buy a Steam key/Cd key will I get all of the 58 games from the Sega Genesis bundle or no?
One word piracy
Oh, no! SEGA is delisting the same games that have been available in several platforms and ways for almost 20 years. What are we gonna do?
Some people don't have those same older consoles anymore either because they're not working or just wanted to upgrade. Some don't have PCs and such. Sure, these games have been in other previous consoles, but not everyone has the finances to go on ebay to get a lot of those classics and hell, I wouldn't wanna buy a lot of older games from randoms who juiced up the price and main devs aren't even getting money from it. Accessibility and preservation should be important. Especially when, even some consoles don't have backwards compatibility or support certain games.
😅😅😅
Non-White, you will go back. DEPORT
you know one of the things that makes Sega so cool these days is how cool they are over fan games and rom hacks and stuff. Even if they don't seem to know how to make a good Sonic game lately (shots fired... okay I haven't played frontiers yet so I can't judge) they're not stopping other people from trying. That's why them delisting all of these games feels like such a slap in the face for long time Sega fans. Welp, I have most of those games anyway, I still S3nK from Steam so that's good.
They were having such a good year, too, so to get hit with this news is like your girlfriend telling you you're having a baby and you ain't the father
i think i got a reason as to why they're getting delisted. the collection thing was developed in collaboration with D3T... i guess something was going on behind the scenes and thus sega decided to give up the collection. that or the games aren't being sold as much as sonic (such as kid chameleon and ristar... mean bean machine is doing fine) copyright i'm not sure since iirc their music is replaced in the case of crazy taxi.
Damn. But I also wouldn't be surprised if copyright was a reason for games like Crazy Taxi and JSR
I just got the news after adding Nights Into Dreams to my Steam wishlist. Quite disappointing
Yeah it's a terrible situation
The answer is money
What profit would they even make from just removing all of their games? Wouldn't you want people to still buy your older games? That would still give them money
It's a cynical ploy to Rob you of older entertainment that could compete with the new one. It's that simple.
I think that's insane a little bit. Those games are super old now. Those should be seen as starting grounds and then see how you evolved after all these years
Maybe under Nintendo's definition of piracy, Sega is in the wrong here. If those games remain in stores, they would be in violation of the law, according to Nintendo. To stay safe, they have to delist every classic rerelease that are emulated, including Sega Ages and the Nintendo Switch version of Yakuza Kiwami removing the arcade games is part of that first step. It sucks, but Nintendo has the power to strong-arm anybody who goes against them. As for Jet Set Radio, there could be a soundtrack dispute with the original composer as he and Sega don't seem to be in good terms, and Crazy Taxi once again is experiencing licensing issues with the music, as some of the indie rock groups in the rerelease may be indie no more or now require royalties that Sega no longer wants to pay. In addition, Sonic Origins will have its Plus DLC delisted for the Game Gear games in the near future, unless Sega can release a stripped-down Plus DLC that only removes the Game Gear games.
Reading this only made me more depressed.
Sonic Origins will have the gamegear games removed? Since when did they say that? The plus DLC code expires in over a decade. That wouldn't make sense.
Yeah, I'm hoping for new collection rereleases or if not, maybe the delisted stuff can be shoehorned into the Yakuza series somehow? I dunno.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a nee collection
Really, I'm really getting to the point of not buying anymore games with the garbage going on in the industry. I have a huge backlog anyway.
If you wanna hold back from buying new games, I don't blame you.
Fuck em, got em all on mega sd and MODE hehe plus some choice originals
Emulation of these Systems and games is very easy even with a low-end PC or a not so old Jailbroken console…
Yeah, but still. Sometimes it's nice to not always depend on emulation
I picked up all these on a Christmas sale years ago. Paid about $15 total for both collections. So glad I did. They will remain in your Steam library. Unlike Ubisoft games that are discontinued you will still be able to play them. This is why I won't ever buy from Ubisoft ever again.
Oh yeah... Ubisoft is definitely up there as the worst way to do it. Lol.
Big bummer
Major bummer.
They dont want to compete with their superior past.
Sega tired of giving these boomers Stuff.😂
Bruh, they're pulling it to rework it & bring it back. I can't tell you how many Atari collections I have that have done the same thing.
You never know sometimes. Nintendo certainly doesn't always do it right. Can't blame me for expecting SEGA is gonna follow in their footsteps
Their gonna make another genesis collection and litterally dont want too compete with themselves
I hope that's the case.
Rise is sexy. 😋
Whose upskirt booty is that in one of the portraits in the background??? 😳
Nice video
thank you. thank you.
JSRF's gameplay is miles above the original. This shouldn't be controversial, and the only reason Future doesn't get as much attention as the original is because it was an Xbox exclusive.
I can agree with this.
Now, maybe people should stop saying "SEGA does what Nintendon't?" Because this is what Nintendoes!
Nintendo definitely be doing this too randomly
Capcom, Konami, Capcom bandaid square Enix etc does it too.
@@INFERNO95 You said Capcom twice.
Well, If Sega wants to continue producing dedicated micro consoles then removing these compilations from digital stores makes sense. Micro Saturn and Dreamcast (and maybe another Mega Drive) will be the only legal way to play these games.
But like why can't we just have both? What's stopping them from allowing us to just have both?
It is logical to assume that people would pay 80-120$ for one microconsole than 10-25$ for one game
@azogdefiler25 It depends because porting a lot of games together can lead to some inconsistent emulating
I hope that if they will make a Dreamcast mini, they will finally rerelease Sonic Shuffle along with it.
They had a Dreamcast collection?
On Steam, you can buy a bundle with 6 Dreamcast games Sonic Adventure, SEGA Bass Fishing, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5 Part 2, Jet Set Radio, and Nights
@@RisingSonic17also Sonic adventure 1 and 2
@ultimat3lifeform only Adventure 1 was part of that collection.
@@RisingSonic17 on steam I saw adventure 2 as part of the bundle but eh don’t want to get into a argument about it
@ultimat3lifeform it probably is and I probably forgot since I just bought it separately.
Sega loves revisionist history.
When It can be most convenient to em💀
Hi handsome. ❤
The reason behind Sega delisting games is likely because they want to encourage players to focus on their newer releases. While this may be a strategic move for Sega, it negatively impacts game preservation efforts. Sadly, this decision further complicates the already challenging task of preserving gaming history.
Yeah. I stated this in terms of why Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio are on that list, but even I still don't agree with it. Since those games are how those IPs got started to begin with. I just think it's silly to remove these old games for those interested in wanting to try them the "legal" way.
Apple tv 4k
Or they want to move their old games to Gamivo. After the delisting of the original non-remastered classic Sonic games, SEGA moved Sonic 1 to Gamivo as a Steam digital key. There's a chance SEGA may do the same with the other classics.
@ThunderTheYellowJolteon I didn't even know that was a thing. Interesting
@@RisingSonic17 I just discovered it from a video called "RTX 3070 vs RX 6700 XT - Which is Better in New Games?" made by this user called Testing Games. I urge ANY person to buy the old SEGA games from Gamivo instead of Steam, since SEGA obviously wants their games to be preserved better with Gamivo and Steam keys.
