Переглядів 20 тис.11 місяців тому
Late last summer I flew a Cessna 414A that I purchased for a client of mine who did an amazing Garmin glass cockpit upgrade. In this video we discuss a lot of the features and benefits of this retrofit and end with a relatively low IFR approach into Bangor, Maine. Sit back, relax and enjoy the flight! Oshkosh 23 was a Hot Mess!

$250,000.00 for an all-glass panel & you still need an IPAD?!
You guys make great content, keep up the flight videos! Safe travels up there.
Lol omfg her voice! 😂
Hey Brian. Long time no see. Just ran across your channel. The plane looks a lot different from when your first got it. Glad to see you guys are doing well. Drop by KMKS and see me next time you are in the Low Country.
Wow that audio was really crisp
Right?! I guess it was that Garmin audio panel.
Bit ruff on the track and ballance
This has to be the best video of a helicopter flight understanding I have seen. Thank you!
I loved that you were all. "this is navigation", blah! blah!...but what is really important is right here!
Back in the 1990’s I used to work with Neil at Aerospace reports. Wonderful family business!
Magnificent avionics👍
I'm in Aussie an my mate has just bought a 2 seater lil mustering chopper.....we gonna learn how to work it this weekend.....wish us luck
@@jasonaram...6613 Good luck! Don’t die!
Seat belt 🤤😲🤦♂️
The single engine piston offers some protection to the crew cabin via the front engine. The twin engine not so much. 😊
I really enjoyed the video. As a Bahamian, I'd like to thank you and your family for visiting and sharing both your experiences and what we have to offer. Hope to see you and others visit again soon.
Absolutely not. GA has turned into the biggest grift. I suspect made in communist CCP trash. They realize they have a captive buyer. I don't want to hear, "but it's certified, but it's certified". Sometimes ya just can't fix stupid. I have my fixed wing and rotorcraft ratings. Had to step back because of the cost.
I agree, the costs are insane. But they’re that way because of Government regulation designed to “keep us safe.”
This P1G, thinks I Haven't LEARNT, WHAT a P1G is.
Flying in Alaska is similar in that some airports have radio advisory available, and while they sound like ATC, they don't 'clear to land' etc. They simply provide traffic and weather information. When flying on an IFR flight plan, other than contacting radio, the approach is exactly like flying into a non-towered airport. Great video. Thanks!
Is no one gonna bring up the fact that my guy needs A New Wind 🌬️ Muff 💨 Invest yo, Fr!! 🤭😅🙈
Love the golf lesson at the end
Great video. Very entertaining. 👍 The list of airplanes to fly over water from best to worst and let’s just say all are good MX engines, for me is 1. Jet 2. Twin or single Turboprop 3. Twin engine piston 4. Single engine piston. A twin beats a single even with a chute because excluding fuel contamination which can be avoided the second engine will allow you to continue flying. The chute will help in a water landing but the flight is over. However if I’m having this conversation with my wife while over water in a cirrus, Cessna or Piper, I would list all the reasons why it’s the number one choice because passenger comfort is important. Lastly above all, the most important thing is pilot knowledge and experience regardless of the aircraft.
Now go down to the New York area and go pick up your IFR. I have a full route clearance. Let me know when you’re ready to copy. 😝
Another great video!!!! When are you taking Kim to Vail?
Oh we love Bandon! We lived a few hours from there and would visit all the time! The owners of the little Italian restaurant in downtown have the coolest story about how they ended up there in Bandon from Italy.
I hate to say it but I think that place closed… super sweet town though. Amazing how windy and cloudy it can be at the shore but just a few hundred yards inland it’s sunny and beautiful.
@@ChaseAviation oh that’s a bummer if they closed! Yeah the wind in Bandon can be brutal!
That one video I was looking for. Thank you so much for the detailed information. Found everything I needed. (Y)
@@jaswinder3665 Glad. Enjoy!
unusual trip,be well! 🙃
Thumbs up 👍 and thanks for sharing this beautiful video. When going through California check out the Harris Ranch for the great food 🍱
I never understood why they fly so advanced machines but use the same " Flyntstones microfone"...
Say what? The microphone on our headsets?
Piper Arrows are not fixed gear airplanes. It’s a retract.
Arrows, Archers, all the same to me. 😂
A dollar windsock on your mic would have made the video useful!
@@beofile7 yah. Old video. We’re planning to reshoot this video in a few weeks with new equipment. Plus some more helicopter flying content. Subscribe and you won’t miss it!
One of my favorite channels. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the video. So was it just a normal IFR filing you didn’t need any special approval or anything?
We've done the Fisk arrival 5 times now. This year was much better than last, both years we came in on Thurday morning, the morning after the first night airshow, a lot of the early arrivals leave after that. The change in the NOTAM, no Thurday arravals until after 8 am seemed to have really helped, once in line on the Fisk we got right in. Landed 36L, requested N40 and got it. We got a spot right by the Red 1 market and shower/bath house, awesome! We love the N40 because we like going to The Hanger resturant late afternoon, AC, good food and a cocktail! It was an interesting year, GAC seemed less packed, but show grounds were very busy, and the weather was perfect! I'll have to try the IFR arrival next year.
Clearly visible traveling coming and going 😂
Thanks for a great video. The coordination of all the air traffic control never ceases to amaze me❤
I need to figure out what kind of computer I need to edit video
A fast one. Video editing in 4K is very graphic intensive. I use a Mac Pro and edit in FCPX.
Great 👍
Based out of HTF not far from you.. that clicking in your radios on receiving... Just went thru this in my Mooney.. It was a bad ignition lead. Changed out mag harness and clicking gone. We originally thought it was the 430 but after sending it out for repair it didnt help... Me and the wife watch all your vids...
Very cool! Looks like you had a great trip! 😁 it was a pleasure helping you!
Nice greaser in RST too.
Wing cam.. Very nice! Enjoy the journey!
Thanks Brian!
Enjoyed that. Looks a great trip.
It sure was. Thanks for watching! More to come.
Very nice Flight! I did get a chance to see Mount Rushmore, but I didn’t fly there my own airplane. That’s awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Mount Rushmore was way more impressive than I thought it would be. From the air it’s hard to get close enough to it and you’re at 7700 MSL so not sure it’s totally worth it. But we were going there anyway, so it made sense.
Thanks for sharing. Thumbs up 👍
Awesome trip
Thanks! Much more to come too.
As always amazing video!!!! Coolest family ever!
Haha. Thanks Mike!
Can’t wait to see the west coast section!
FFS....fix the sound!! You've successfully ruined what was potentially an excellent instructional video with rubbish audio.
@@geoffreycoury1171 I know dude. That video was from years ago. We’ve gotten much better!
would only use vertical speed in climb if only climbing a couple thousand feet. Vertical speed while climbing has got many people in deep doo doo because vertical speed will try and keep that climb rate totally ignoring airspeed and will ultimately lead to a stall.
Nice Ride Guys... Thanks ';-)
Easy clearance as filed must be out in Midwest no traffic
