Thank You Gentleman: OU is known for having an explosive offensive. Instead of leaning into it they got stuck in neutral worried about playing complimentary offense. I watched a lot of film on Washington state. And the arbuckle scheme seems eerily similar to what we just witnessed all year this year. He at least can line up under center sometimes in short yardage situations with success. Im hopeful but im not getting excited until conference play next year. Hes going to need to prove himself.

Comparisons to Lincoln Riley are ridiculous - LR had years more experience in the trenches in a MUCH better conference than Arbuckle. That matters. Comparisons to Zac Alley are ridiculous - ZA has Coach Venables to rely on and consult. Coach V is a legendary defensive mind. That matters. Arbuckle is untested and will struggle. This is OU entering it's next John Blake era. BAD HIRE and OU will be looking to gut the entire coaching staff this time next year. BV made a HUGE mistake and it'll cost him dearly....unfortunately.

I'd be happier if OU replaced Venables. He's pretty much ran off Jackson Arnold and OU will be even worse at QB next year.

The hire isn't going to make a huge difference when you don't have the talent to be an elite team which the sooners are no where being close to being an elite football team.😂😂

I hate that the rest of the offensive staff is being retained, but at least Arbuckle’s a real QB coach. Haven’t had a dedicated, qualified coach for the most important position on the field in years.

I dont think a new offensive coordinator is going to amount to doodly squat if barnes remains rb 1 and our qb has barely enough time to drop back and set up before someone's on his ass. I think they should have saved there money and went and got a top tier online. I guess we will see if he helps in the bowl game if he coaches in the bowl game.
