Kamiak Butte County Park, named after Chief Kamiakin of the Yakama tribe, is a 298-acre park located in Whitman County, Washington. The park offers over five miles of forested trails for hiking, with the moderately challenging Pine Ridge Trail being the most popular. This 3.5-mile loop trail takes hikers through evergreen forestland to an exposed ridge with panoramic views of the surrounding Palouse region, known for its rolling hills of farmland. The park is also an important haven for diverse wildlife, with over 150 bird, mammal, and plant species documented in the area.
