The GTR is impressive and to this day I like it. I would never want to own one, but it's a really cool and fast car. And as a Porsche enthusiast I had no problem with the GTR beating the comfort cruiser 911 Turbo, I was impressed! Of course Porsche being Porsche they always dominate those who dare challenge them and this rivalry went on for some time. But given the GTR never performed in tracks as well as the records they drove, always seemed strange to me. Porsche on the other hand are still the force to beat on races like the VLN and such.

This test is pointless, the Plymouth was not made to drive on Nordschleife..... I believe it was made for ovals only.

It’s decent. It does make some shit up though. Like it clearly plays favorites with JDM vehicles in races against manufacturers that have won numerous titles. Like how in the fuck is a gt series Supra concept car that’s never raced faster than the corvette team?

Lol it still isn't a sim. Crash into a wall or let the cars run out of fuel and you will see why it isn't a racing simulation. It's a DRIVING simulator and it absolutely gets that part right though.

consider the recent tyre update, and the technology of tyre has been updated since the GTR doing the time attack, the time advancement can consider realistic, and so GT 7 is real enough

Course must be a bit longer in real life. In every corner, the game car was faster, but never pulled ahead in the race.

I cannot emphasize how hard it is to replicate this in a game, yet they did it!

It took me 5 years to realise the LFA was not mid-engine, when I finally saw them at the 2015 VLN Nürburgring 24Hrs. Hearing an LFA with straight-pipes through the tropical rainforest of the eifel resonating through the trees gave me electric goosebumps!

Gran Turismo only got the lablel "simcade" from it's older titles. Clearly it does not apply anymore. There are more racing games closer to real driving than ever before, what seperates them these days is mere nuance now. What is labeled "simcade" today would've been the cutting-edge of simracing 10 years ago.

It’s a decent driving sim, but the biggest thing is how when you have the abs assist on it just does the hard part for you.

I hate that, they could have just let us directly buy a nurburgring edition like gt6 but they do what nfs does and just give you a kit to make it yourself

It's actually quite accurate. The car had "shock value" in styling but was a horrendous piece of crap to drive. I've driven one - and yes it was a hemi 4-speed. The rear wing was pretty much just screwed into the bodywork and would wobble around after hitting a few potholes. The front nose was sheetmetal over a bit of wire scaffolding. Neither part added anything to driveability over a standard Charger - only serving to make the car longer, heavier, and more out of balance. It only LOOKED like the NASCAR ride that Richard Petty drove without the actual engineering that went into that car. It was a HOMOLOGATION car and the only thing being homologated were the body dimensions.
