If you're a fan of fly fishing clear mountain streams for wild brown trout, brook trout and rainbow trout using mostly dry flies then you're gonna love this episode.
I love fishing high elevation freestone creeks and rivers, especially in the summer when it gets hot down in the valley. I checked out a new stream in the Eastern Sierra over the 4th of July with a couple friends and despite the worst mosquito conditions I've ever experienced fishing or camping, I had an amazing time. The fishing was off the charts, and although most of the fish were small (6-10 inches) there were a couple that I was surprised to find in such a small creek.
The big fish started coming out on the second day when there was a massive brown drake hatch (you can see it at 4:08). My wife caught an 18 inch brown out of one of the deeper pools on a dry fly with our baby on her back (you can find that video here ua-cam.com/users/shortsJJe0lgpcanU) which was the highlight of the trip.
